This article is cheap populism. Olmert is right to stand up to emotional blackmail. This writer appeals to raw emotions without a single balanced or rational statemtent. He uses every trick in the book in dirty debates.

If you have had enough of this person who was never intended to be Prime Minister why is he still in power why have there not been a call for elections, it seems you have a choice a left liberal govt with Barak who may be a good soldgier but was a terrible leader, A Kadima govt. led by either Olmer or his lacky Livini or Netanyahu who is the best hope in this eleventh hour for Israel.

And in any case, Olmert got in - not because he was voted in but because Ariel Sharon was in a coma! I voted for Sharon because I believed his lies that the communities in Gaza were no different than Tel Aviv!!

Olmert has shown a callous disregard for human life and well-being. This is contrary to the most important tenet of Judaism-the sacredness of life. We need every soldier possible, if thirty-four of our brave soldiers perished for no reason, Olmert must be held accountable and brought up on charges if warranted. Also, the Torah instructs us that we must be compassionate to the elderly, and especially in this case, survivors of the Shoah. He must resign before he causes more damage to our beloved Israel and to the Jewish people.

In Olmerts Lebanon war the IDF didnt have enough bullet proof vests for all soilders .. after the war Olmert gave hundreds of new vests to the palestian security forces in the name of strenghening Abbas. In proportion he has probably invested more in the palestian security forces than he has in the IDF. After Lebanon he promised an increase in the millitary budget because for years it had been underfunded then first chance he gets he not only refuses to give the promised increase instead he decreases it. He still hasnt provided the promised funds to make civilian bomb shelters fit for use while he spends $1 billion on a neuclear bunker for himself. He snubbed the 1 year memorial for the soilders who died in his Lebanon war... after public preasure Peretz agreed to go but the primeminister the man who personly gave the order to go to war refused to even pretend he had any respect for the dead. He has been taking a big interest in improoving things for the palestians but you ask him to improove things for Israelis he would say thats not my job. No other leaders in the western world would be permited to cause so many disasters and not be forced out of office. Now he wants to do a quickly a dirty deal with Syria sell the Golan and give Abbas the rest and security issues are somebody ellses problem. The countrys good doesnt matter to Olmert anymore all that matters now is his international legacy and what the rest of the world will think of him and the arab world is laughing at an israeli government that doesnt care about Israel he is the best thing thats happened to the arab world in Israels history. Makes you nostaligic about Yigal Amir... he realised that Israel was going to need help he just tried to help the wrong man. Give Olmert a checkered keffia and the palestians will have the leader they allways wanted but never had. Olmert knows all about finaicial scandels, armning terrorists, and working against Israels interests politicly this man really is a gift for the arabs.

But when you talk to people, what do they say? That they'll just sit and watch the unravelling of the country? Why isn't there a single group protesting against the government? We have seen groups protecting against the sex lives of politicians, or against the gay parade, or against the lack of funds for the Holocaust survivors. But nothing against Olmert. Nothing against the expulsion of families in Hevron. Nothing against the neglect of the military, or of the lack of civilian protection before the next war. The surreal attitude of Israeli citizens is made more alarming when they turn their rage against the pioneers or the kids who support them, or the Haredi who don't hurt anyone. Or the soldiers who refused to carry out orders. The Israeli websites are full of columns and comments about those soldiers. Not much about the past and future expulsions of Jews in Hevron. Why?
