1. Ellison is Jewish.
semsem ,   New York, USA   (08.09.07)
The world except maybe for the USA Government do not care about Israel. As to Ellisson he is Jewish so of course he identifies himself with Sderot.
2. Ellison promises $500,00
bear ,   zefat, israel   (08.09.07)
Ellison For Prime minister!
3. Larry Ellison
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (08.10.07)
What's the difference between god and Larry Ellison? God doesn't try to be Larry Ellison :-)
4. Thanks Larry.
Zvi   (08.10.07)
I've never been a big fan of Ellison, but he definitely deserves credit for doing this. Thanks.
5. #1 - so WHAT if he's Jewish?
The Doc ,   Haifa, Isreal   (08.10.07)
Some of the most rabid anti-Israelis are Jewsh. The UK Boycotts have largely been initiated by Muslims, Muslim-terror apologists and Jewish self-haters. Neturi Karta are Jewish yet they hate Israel. Should I go on? SO Ellison being Jewish (this is actually news to me) is irrelevant to his step to help Sderot. We should regard every help - even when coming from "Jews" - with teh proper respect, attitude and recognition. Our government is Jewish yet what tangible steps did THEY take to protect Sderot? You donot need to be Jewish in order to support Israel - it is definitely enough to be a sensible and civilized human being!
6. This is pathetic by the Israeli Government
Michael ,   New York, USA   (08.10.07)
Given the strong Israeli economy, this is appalling and pathetic. Its great of Larry Ellison to cover this expense, but this is something the government should be paying for!!! Maybe FM Livni should focus on the government defending its citizens rather than the positive PR from its inability to do so and resulting Jewish victims.
7. Tasteless humor
Petra ,   USA   (08.11.07)
Perhaps your humor is just tasteless or perhaps you have no humor, either way, a stupid remark. Why not grant the gentleman a 'Thank you' for the gift? Silly person. G-d made him as well as us all, didn't He?
8. Ellison donates $500,000
Monique   (08.11.07)
Thank you and may Gd bless you and your family for your generous donation to build shelter in Sderot!Although I think that it is a disgrace that the government here isn't willing to do its job! It is very nice that you stepped up to do the job that is needed.I know that the people of Sderot are greatful, and will rest easier once the shelters are built. Now if we could only spur the gov. here to do its job and ready the entire homefront from the North to the center of the country(the areas to be hit first),ready the shelters ,give out gas masks before the war starts, because it will be alot harder to do all that work under fire!

I'm not sure your tb was directed at me, but it seems to me that you're the one without humor. My daughter was a Sr. systems analyst for Oracle for years and my son-in-law was a regional VP for Oracle. They know Mr. Ellison quite well. His employees came up with that joke. As for his "generous" gift, the man is worth $23 BILLION and $500,000 is an insult. Hey, but it got his name in your papers. I have more respect for Giuliani for telling that Arab prince what he can do with his $10 million than I do for Larry and his measly $500K or for your gratefulness for Ellison's pittance. Don't sell yourselves so damn' cheaply.
10. Gaydamak watch out u've got competition!
Thanks Mr. Ellison   (08.12.07)
11. At least Larry Ellison is DOING something!
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.12.07)
Maybe he could give more, but he certainly could have given less. The point is that HE GAVE and the center will be safer for it. Thank you, Larry.
12. Hatrleys gift?
Petra ,   USA   (08.12.07)
So what? If your humor is so funny, why isn't anyone laughing? How much have you or your family given to Israel? If all you can do is knock this man, take lessons in batting practice. Cheap shot cheap humor. At least he gave, what about you?
13. Respect for Giuliani?
Petra ,   USA   (08.12.07)
How convenient, respecting a man with a mistress living in the same mansion as his wife? Yea, that's pretty funny alright.. You're really packing them out. Did it ever occur to you that G-d gave this man the money so he could donate it to Jews in peril? Get a new gag writer, your families living off this mans ideas and money, if that's the best they and you can do for a joke? It's pathetic. Neither funny or cool, just plain ignorant and you sound jealous as hell. Get a life and stop slamming any generosity that helps Jews who need it. Want to have more given? Why not start by raising more money and stop insulting your kids boss. Putz.

#1Since I used the past tense with regard to my kids working for Oracle, it should have been obvious that they no longer do. It dawned on them that they could do the same work charging 75% of what Oracle charged their clients, and they went independent. It must have been all right, though, because in a pinch they'd, still, get work from Oracle. You, obviously, don't know how the consulting business works. #2 I can't dredge up much sympathy for a wife who allows her husband's mistress to live under the same roof. Sorry, but I'm not that long-suffering and not very good at playing the victim. I would have kicked out one, the other, or both. Of course, going back to your morality judgment as you apply it to Rudy, would it disturb you to learn that Larry is on his 4th wife. Does that shock you on principle or does a chintzy donation make it all right? The way I think of it and regardless of donation or no donation is hey, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and I hope the ladies got great divorce settlements. #3 In relation to my worth to that of Mr. Ellison's, yes, I've given more to Jewish causes. #4 God didn't "give" diddly to Larry. He worked for every dime and had to outsmart a lot of people to get where he is. For that I greatly admire the man. #5 I don't need gag writers. I depend on your kind of drivel to inspire me. #6 If you don't like my humor, don't read it. #7 Now toddle along, have a glass of wine or a Prozac pill and look at what Mr. Adelson and his wife donated. That's what I call a DONATION, although even that got slammed for the program to which it went.
