1. Boo Hoo!!
Cheese Eater ,   Paris   (08.09.07)
I much prefer them crying than passing out candy. In both cases they've killed their own youth, but in the latter case they've killed a Jew as well.
2. any threat to g. strip is the product of hamas terrorism
dante ,   uk   (08.09.07)
such threats as there may be, and these are routinely exaggerated by u.n. bureaucrats who are partisans of hamas, are the direct result of the terrorism advocated, practiced and celebrated by the liars, thieves, and murderers of hamas. any jeopardy to the area is NOT the result of any Israeli defensive measures.
3. Hands Off- NOT OUR PROBLEM - Let Them Eat Salt & Olives
LOL ,   Mazal Tov   (08.09.07)
Just like the party that the majority of PAers voted for - Hamas. Let Them Eat Salt & Olives YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW - LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. What the Hell is Wrong With You Israeli's
Howard ,   USA   (08.09.07)
When are you going to start taking responsibility for these poor suffering people? You think providing electricity and refuse removal is enough but you don't understand that these people need more help to survive. They obviously have not figured out that Terrorism is not a prosperous GNP so why aren't you subsidizing them? I know they cry occupation occupation blah blah blah and I know you have quit Gaza, but the least you could do now is provide food and jobs. You should send your humanitarian vehicles quickly while there is a lull in the kassam firings. Surely you could do this. To expect these people to take care of themselves or is absurd. After all, only civilized people do that.
5. So what?
Dan ,   USA   (08.09.07)
But they have a navy and lots of new shiny missiles. Why don't they eat them? The only real surprise is that we keep reading stories like this and are supposed to feel sorry for people who actually want war. Well, this is war. Be careful what you wish for.
6. # 5 ...you forgot brand new kakamaime uniforms too
Ivri   (08.09.07)
7. Lob more cabages purchased in Sderot
Steve ,   USA   (08.09.07)
B"H What is there to do except to lob cabages purchased in Serote in response to missile attacks on Israel? At least the cabages can be washed in the ocean water and feed people. If Hamas prioritizes military strikes versus feeding people and providing employment, the only thing I see Israel capable of doing is making the political statement that there needs to be a priority shift by lobbing over cabages and other food packets (beenbags, ricebags, dried fruit bags), so say Israel has a different approach. Israel counts on a functional economy and counts on the ability to feed its population. Israel needs to realize that an election had taken place in Gaza (as well as the entire area not controlled by Jews), and Hamas was elected to destroy its own people in Gaza. That was a choice of the Arabs. The best Israel can do is to lob food back to encourage a better choice on the next rounds. Sometimes back choices lead to economic downfall. Europe was more than happy to be upset with Israel's support of Arabs in Gaza, and now it wants to take the burden. That is its choice. If there is truly mass starvation, Hamas will have to fall by initiatives on the Arab side unless Israel is willing to reestablish Jewish residence there under its authority.
8. to #4
Rich ,   Canada   (08.09.07)
Pali's wanted war by voting in Hamas and "armed resistance", so they get war... who feeds their enemy? they should be so lucky the IAF isn't sending in air raids everyday
9. where's that confounded violin 'o mine??!
Nero   (08.09.07)
10. Let Them Eat Qassams!
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (08.09.07)
I love what General William Tecumseh Sherman said. It's SO much more applicable here though: "If they want eternal war, well and good; we accept the issue and will dispossess them and put our friends in their places. Three years ago, by a little reflection and patience, they could have had a hundred years of peace and prosperity, but they preferred war; very well. Next year, their lands will be taken; for in war we can take them and rightfully too, and in another year they may beg vainly for their lives."
11. THEY elected Hamas, now don't come to Israel!
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.09.07)
The Gazans elected Hamas based on promises of "cleansing the bribery" in the PA and the future destruction of Israel. Needless to say that Hamas replaced the PA briberies with Hamas bribery, atrocities and religious terrorism. Now the Gazans should pay and be accountable for their choice - Israel should not help them get out of the mess they put themselves in since every time Israel does something to alleviate their pain, they respond with more terror and murders. The gazans should raise in a popular "Intifadeh" - this time against the ones responsible for their poverty, degeneration and lack of any kind of future - and that's HAMAS! Tople Hamas and kick out Al-Qaeds and all those pety terrorists and as soon as Gaza is clean of murderous bands, Israel will be among teh first to lend a hand. But if Gazans dream of the destruction of Israel then they should look elsewhere.
12. Let them Eat Sand
Mark ,   USA   (08.09.07)
Funny, Hamas has plenty of money to buy weapons.
13. #4
Mike ,   Brooklyn   (08.09.07)
Israel is allowing AID into gaza. Hamas has been attacking the crossings that the Aid is coming in from to create a bigger hummanitarian disaster. Hamas created and keeps creating this mess and Israel should not have to clean it up for them. We are already giving him water, electricity, and millions dollars of aid.
14. BottomLine::There are places in IslamicWorld worst than Gaza
KMR ,   Middle East   (08.09.07)
but nobody cares....Palestinians getting too much publicity....
15. #4 You Jest, Of Course
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (08.09.07)
The Palestinians elected this gang of violent misfits that calls for Israel to be wiped off the face of the earth. The only way there will be peace is when the Palestinians have exhausted themselves with the violence, poverty and destruction that comes with Islamic fundamentalism and realize that Hamas and its ilk is not the answer. Meanwhile they have no economy and will starve until they stop acting as if the world owes them something and start behaving like responsible, civilized human beings.
16. Haniyeh hasn't missed a meal. . .
Steve ,   Atlanta USA   (08.09.07)
and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of money for missles.
17. #4 WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU HOWARD !?
stephane ,   france   (08.09.07)
firstable i wish i could speak english like you to answer to your nonsenses as much as it is needed, but anyway you will understand : what do you expect from israel...howard!? the palis hate israel and all the jews. they are fanatics like those who attacked USA on 9/11. they have elected hamas, a terrorist group that his first goal is the destruction of israel! they did everything to expell a few hundred jews who lived on a JEWISH LAND, GAZA. and now that israel left gaza, did they stop their attacks on the south of israel howard ??? no !!! in the year following the disengagement they sent 3 time more kassams that in the year that israelis were still in gaza! did they stop arming themselves? no ! today they have more terrorists in their bases, more guns, more TNT ! all the money they receive from americans, eurabians, instead of building peace, they use it to get armament, to write schoolbooks packed with hate for the jews, instead of buying food for their people! did you see any ennemies helping each other in the conflicts of the world? so why israel should help its ennemies...howard!? who helped the jews when they were starving in the ghetto of warsaw howard ????? and this jews were real victims not like the nazislamists you are defending !!! and i can give you 1000 more explanations why israel should never help that terrorist population! aaa! i almost forgot! why you don't ask their" arab brothers" egypt to help ? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU HOWARD ????
18. Howard, The naive Westerner. what the hell is wrong with u?
Israel   (08.09.07)
"but the least you could do now is provide food and jobs." We do and we receive suicide bombers. hmmmmm... what other country does this?
19. #4 Howard - Sarcasm doesn't always work
Kim   (08.09.07)
I think I got it. Rather funny, really. C'mon people, read the last line: it's clearly meant as sarcasm.
20. grandi
(08.09.07)
the only thing that will save gaza from disaster is the total liquidation of hamas from their midst. this is an arab islamic fight for power and territory and has nothing to do with israel. the hamasnics have no intention to free these people from suffering. it is their intention to USE these people for their own agenda. grandi, if you feel so sorry for the palestinians in gaza, why don't you airlift all of them into italy or europe and give them citizenship in your country. opps! forgot.....you can talk, but you won't let them settle in your country because you know exactly what these savages will do to your peace and quiet. now you understand why israel and egypt closed off gaza. get rid of this terrorist organization and israel as well as europe and the usa can sit down and talk. or, let anwra feed them. they have been holding them as refugees status for 60v some years....unheard of for any other refugees except the palestinians. shame on you!
21. palestinians
(08.10.07)
chose hamas to rule them through democratic, it seems, election. israel left gaza and showed quite a restraint in entering itb again to clean up the garbage. palestinians in gaza dream of the good old days when israel occupied them, providing livelihood, jobs, emoloyment, peace for a while, law and order, less killing by their own kind, less turbulance, etc.... are they better off now that hamas is ruling them? were they better off when abas ruled them? no to both questions, and many palestinians on the street will tell you that the best time for their economy was when usrael protected tem....yes, protected them, by giving salaries, aid, medical care, food, water, electricity, jobs, labour, employment. their quality of life and economic security was 100% better under israeli rule and protection. israel could have entered gaza again last year and provided help to the innocent palestinians against the hamas killing machines that constantly target their palestinian population to assume power. they don't care who or what tghey kill if those stand in their path to power over the strip. UN stop screaming. you are an arab mouthpiece and have done your outmost to keep these palestinians victims their entire lives because you, UN, work in close contact with the arab nations representatives that have no aim of ever lifting the poverty and miserable conditions their pawns palesinians live under. you are a rouhge organization, corupt, misleading, unfair and pro arab despotic regimes. you, like them, would love to scream unfair, all the while bringing about the misery of the palestinians. shame on you. barbaric organization under the fake umbrella of protecting the "victims"
22. Howard #4 was just using a little satire. relax.
dante ,   uk   (08.10.07)
of course, the positions taken by the boo-hoo chorus in london, paris, roma, new york, etc. are so absurd that they make it difficult for one to try satire; nothing is too bizarre for these retrograde clowns, e.g. "we are all hizb." take it easy on Howard. he's cool. know your friends>
23. #4 howard
(08.10.07)
i commend you for at least knowing the underlying "truth" of the "israeli occupation". however, you see the picture from western perspective. please do me a favor. you seem intelligent and concerned and i don't begrudge you your humanitarian side. all aside, you must understand how all got to this situation and how israel is the least responsible for the calamity that forever faqced the "palestinians" as people. there are 2 excellent books you must read so that you can answer your humanitarian concern. then, come back and discuss your own impressions and conclusions. THE CLOSED CIRCLE by david pryce-jones FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL by joan peters i believe both should be read by muslims and palestinians alike since they have been taken for a long miserable ride by the same leaders they elected and esteemed. one must understand arab mentality within the context of the middle east and how they behave, think and judge.....always causes them unnnecesary hearache. one must never attribute westernized social values and mores to the arabs as a collective. they do not have a westernized mentality and it would be totally misleading to expect them to react or feel as we do. palestinians in gaza, used as pawns by corrupt leadership and factuions fighting for power and territory and foreighn aid into their bank accounts HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL, ISLAMIC DOMINATION, HATE FOR THE JEWS, HATE FOR ISRAELIS, OR OCCUPATION. it has and always had to do till today with religious wars, territorial "tribal", wars for power and stealing money that is not theirs, all the while blaming the west for their misfortunes and the present situation. i repeat....it is not about israel because if it was only about israel, the war will be with israel alone, but it is not. the arabs have been fighting amongst themselves killing millions of people around the world for centuries. this is tribal and sectarian war and israel and jews do not factor into this equestion. they do factor in only to arouse the arab masses and blame everyone else except the arab leaders for the poverty, lack of education, misery, killings, backwardsness and complete lack of innovations that constantly exist in the arab world and countries from their inception after ww2.
24. after usa and brits
(08.10.07)

25. UNRWA
(08.10.07)
are you really serious in approaching the jews and israelis you "love so much" and constantly go against in your reports....are you expecting these people to provide aid for your palestinians? shame on you!
26. what about the hot houses?
bob ,   potomac md usa   (08.10.07)
The Jews made millions from hydroponic farming. Oh, I forgot, the Palestinians destroyed them. What about t he billions that wre donated to Araft and his henchpersons such as Mr. Abbas? Oh, I forgot, they stole it all and put it in secret bank accounts.
27. Too bad!!!
Natan ,   USA   (08.10.07)
You make the bed, YOU sleep in it!!! What the Palestinians are going through is self created misery at it's best... They are so pre occupied with hating the Jews that they neglected their own. Let them starve!!! May be then they will wake up from their "brain dead" state and kick Hamas the hell out!!!
28. The HAMAS government of Gaza is responsible for Gaza
Zvi   (08.10.07)
If it wants to make things better for its people, it must stop trying to destroy Israel. Israel has a right to prevent its own destruction at the hands of these genocidal maniacs. If the Gazans don't like HAMAS they can tell it to go to hell.
