1. Striving for war instead of food and comfort
(08.12.07)
is the result of a brilliant brain.... sure. When will be the first Gazan to win the Nobel price?
2. Rockets
jeremy ,   hula valley kibbutz   (08.12.07)
If Hamas doesn't have the raw material to produce rockets, then maybe it is a good thing that all the crossing points into Israel remain closed. People should be more concerned with food adn jobs, not producing weapons, that in the end only cause more hardship on the Palistinians.
3. "...brilliant brains in the strip"
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (08.12.07)
Tell me that's not the best quote of the week? Tomorrow some jerk from the UN will tell us that we must allow fertilizer into the strip because "farmers are suffering" from shortages.
4. Must mean they have no traffic signs or piping left, too...
poor pals ,   USA   (08.12.07)
Since they use the use the (usually Israeli-provided) metal pipes from traffic signals and from sewage and water pipes in order to build rocket launchers. I'd feel bad if it weren't a situation of their own making.
5. No word about the other alternative: PEACE!
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.12.07)
As usual Hamas keeps on his megalomanica dreams of the destruction of Israel. All this at the expense of the people, their education and their food. But that fits them well: as avery terrorist organization, they depend on the on-going keeping on the people in a state of desperation and poverty. It is HAMAS which is preventing Israel from opening the borders to allow Gazans to work in Israel. It is HAMAS which boycotts Israeli food supplies and increases famine in Gaza. It is HAMAS using all the money left in the coffers to finance its terrorist infrastructure instead buying food and creating jobs for the Gazan population. It is HAMAS that terrorizes the local population in converting them forcefully to Extremist Islam. It is HAMAS that is destroying generations of Gazans by creating Suicide Camps for kids. It is HAMAS which is poisoning the minds of generations with hate television programs and newspapers. It is HAMAS laying to the world through a network of local and foreign "journalists" who are either members of Hamas or its supporters. The failure of the Gazan people can be summarized in one word "hamas".
6. Expect Gazan Nobel Prize winners from the "BRILLIANT BRAINS"
Alan ,   SA   (08.12.07)
7. Of course, firstly, Allah must be willing-and we say he is.
Alan ,   SA   (08.12.07)
8. troops were used as cannon fodder in WW1
redmiike ,   tel aviv   (08.12.07)
wave after wave of brave and patriotic men died when they were used as cannon fodder in WW1 - the Germans either ran out of bullets or their guns overheated. Israel now talks of building more bunkers and reinforcing schools and now the 'good news' is that Hamas is having problems launching kassams because of shortages in materials. This present government causes me to hide my head in shame! Forget reinforcing schools and spend the money on making the enemy understand that it is not profitable to fire kassams at Israel. Make them pay tenfold for every kassam that is launched! The kassams will stop within a week if we stop being weak!
9. Appeal to EU , UN this is terrible
rh ,   Modiin Israel   (08.12.07)
There are women and children suffering because of this shortage. This need the borders to be opened and emergency supplies to be sent. The failure to do this could be disastrous it could result in peace
10. call me crazy-maybe we shouldn't sell them fertilizer&steel
aaron ,   ra'anana   (08.12.07)
11. There's plenty of fertilizer
NYC Girl   (08.12.07)
It's being spewed out every day in the form of Hamas propaganda.
12. Peace Now
eddie ,   London UK   (08.12.07)
Well, perhaps Peace Now will provide them with fertilizer and steel, so as to enable them to be on a par with the occupying forces of the IDF
13. Brilliant minds in the strip?
Petra ,   USA   (08.12.07)
If they were so brilliant, they'd first concentrat on real jobs, like feeding their people with the fertilizer to be used in agriculture instead of rockets. The palestinains are forever beggers as all they 'do' is make war against Israel. Brilliant? Na, dull as dishwater. They are brainwashed dummies who die and murder for naught. In the same amount of time as "New Israel" has been re-established, since 1948, these dummies just make babies and war. Israel has grown due to her hard work effort and blessings for being a democracy, for all.
14. Fear Not...Hamas gets all weapons it needs from Tehran
Malcolm   (08.12.07)
15. Fertilizer shortage? Thought they had plenty of Shi'ite!
ny ,   usa   (08.12.07)
16. Hamas' "brilliant brains"=fertilizer
ny ,   usa   (08.12.07)
How many new "work accidents" will now occur because of Hamas' "brilliant brains" experimenting with new forms of explosive crap in the Strip? I hope they turn themselves into fertilizer trying to figure this out; it will do the people living in Hamastan a great favor.
17. LEFTISTS IN ISRAEL SHOULD SEND
Sonny Beck ,   Sydney Australia   (08.12.07)
Leftists in Israel should send their steel body piercings, bag up their poo and send it all off to Gaza in the name of equality thus joining the brilliant brains in the strip.
18. Make rockets out of plasic...H Ha Ha
Simon ,   C.T, South Africa.   (08.12.07)
Make the rockets out of plastic..Ha Ha maybe out of cardboard..ha ha.
19. Maybe if they spent the money on infrastructure
(08.12.07)
Gaza's economy wouldn't be "in danger of collapse" like we hear from the whining UN every day.
20. This Makes No Sense
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (08.12.07)
A fertilizer shortage in Israel? Can't be. It is produced here daily by the tons and tons - and we all know where.
21. If G brains were made out of elastic there wouldnt B enuf to
make garter 4 a bird ,   Alan SA   (08.12.07)
22. To Hamas. Grow Flowers In The Sky ??
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (08.12.07)
Hamas said :".. we (terrorists) have brilliant brains in the Strip ". You mean you consider yourselves intelligent for being able to fire "rockets filled with fertilizers" into the sky. WHAT is the use ?? DO you want to grow flowers in the sky ?? I think you guys must be fond of eating 'pie in the sky ' also. SO, Gazans, wake up !! Don't be satisfied with filling your belly ONLY with air !
23. Use it in a better way
Daniel ,   Israel   (08.13.07)
Why don't they produce tomatoes and supply it all to Iran instead? A better use of fertilizers and they will get satisfaction of creating something.
24. thanks god we have brilliant brains in the strip??????????
(08.18.07)
that's what the hamas terrorist said at the end of the article. is he serious?????? how much brain does it take to mold cow sh*t into bombs? i wonder what other skills they possess? amazing that same fertilizer can be used to work the land and grow produce and vegetables, but is used instead to make bombs. have arabs not comprehended that you can't eat cow manure and steel?
