1. Eat it, Jerks!
J K ,   NYC, USA   (08.12.07)
Once again, the truth shall set you free. I'm sure Tibi will think of some way to explain away the fact that he was dead wrong.
2. Let there be cameras everywhere
Kevin G ,   Oregon   (08.12.07)
The UK, in spite of all their wimpy reaction to terrorism, at least have had one good idea to combat crime and terrorism: ubiquitous street cameras. Big Brother has some redeeming qualities. Will MK Ahmed Tibi retract his words and apologize?
3. Typical statement by the family "he's inocent"
Mike ,   Israel   (08.12.07)
4. Smile, You're on Candid Camera
Mark ,   Israel   (08.12.07)
5. Jerusalem Shooting
DIsgusted with YNET ,   Rosh Pina   (08.12.07)
"Some acquaintances went as far as to say that incident was made up by the two security guards in order to avoid murder charges..." And as soon as they said it, good old dependable YNET hurried to report their comments in big headlines, making it sound as though there might very well be some truth in the accusations and who knows? Maybe the guards were indeed guilty of some henious crime. Now of course YNET is backtracking and sounding piously objective. YNET should get a prize for treasonous reporting.
6. tibi doesn't need the facts; he knows who is guilty
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (08.12.07)
yes, ahmed tibi, it is hard to be omniscient among mere mortals who rely on evidence to ascertain the truth. like they say: it is better to keep silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
7. Its a conspiracy - doctored video maybe?
Josh   (08.12.07)
It was a shooter in the grassy knoll. A Palestinian would never do something as stupid as steal a gun when they dont know how to shoot it. Absurd. As if we didn't figure this one out ahead of time.
8. More arab lies refuted.
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (08.12.07)
9. U expect truth from the myth-makers of a Palestinian people?
Ariel ,   Judean Hills   (08.12.07)
The guy wasn't innocent. There is no Palestinian people. Arafat never wanted peace... the list of lies goes on. As the saying goes: fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. I wasn't fooled but maybe your editorial staff was.
10. ja!
(08.12.07)
Arafat was EGYPTIAN! Palestinian are egyptians and jordanians!
11. Very intense
(08.12.07)
What is the condition of the security guard that got shot?
12. Pallywood was stopped, this time
Mark ,   Georgia, USA   (08.12.07)
Just think if there had been no video proving he took the gun!! He would be the new "poster boy" for the Pals. Israel would be accused of murdering Khatib. Wait, was the video doctored? This accusation is coming. Lets go back to the first story, look at the picture of Khatib, it was designed for western media consumption. Here look for yourselves. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3436294,00.html This might have been a planned suicide for a new "poster boy". Very clever. Never believe anything from any PA or Muslim source. Like Pres. Reagan use to say verify, verify and verify. Sadly, the PA propaganda machine is in full force, Israel just stopped a huge PR victory for the Pals. Always willing to die to elicit undeserved world sympathy. Submitted for your approval....or not Mark from Georgia
13. Theft of Corporate Weapon
Stephen ,   Lowell US   (08.12.07)
No matter his background in old Jerusalem - Khatib was observed on video as the one who in a 00criminal act, stole the corporate pistol from the corporate officer and fled the scene of the crime, thereby transforming himself into a thief at taht moment. The corporate officer was appropriately pursuing the thief before being murdered by the thief.
14. BottomLine::Palestinians losing world sympathy due to lies..
KMR ,   Middle East   (08.12.07)
...and(or) twisting the facts.
15. Good thing at least a few people are allowed to bear arms...
Adamush ,   UK   (08.12.07)
The British will soon be mourning 20 years since a depressed loner with a Kalashnikov wandered around his home town killing anyone he met. Of course, thanks to their 'tough' gun laws nobody else in his home town was allowed to own firearms for self-defence, with disasterous consequences. This cannot be allowed to happen there. Israel would do best repealing the firearm laws originally imposed on them by the British and allowing more people to keep and bear arms for self defence. Incidents such as this prove the value of a universally armed citizenry.
16. Too bad self-defense is foreign concept to Arabs
Cynic ,   USA   (08.12.07)
This matter is not even worthy of argument. This is classic self-defense and defense of a third person. As long as the terorist was holding the gun, the threat continued.
17. Wow what a convenient time for the video to abruptly end.
Khalid ,   Gaza City   (08.12.07)
Right before we get to see if indeed the Police shot him numerous times after he was down as several newspapers reported. I actually didn't believe it when I read it in the Arab press, but now after seeing this video, I do.
18. PLEASE! Play this video on as many World TVChannels as poss
Alan ,   SA   (08.12.07)
19. Cameras is good
(08.12.07)
To show us the truth all the time like this story and like it showed us before the brutal treatment of the IDF to the Palistinian childeren by the check points .... we want only the truth but all the truth not only a la carte what suits and what's not ... thanks to the cameras .
20. Quod erat demonstrandum !
(08.12.07)
"That's what I wanted to prove" goes the above Latin maxim, actually originating from the Greek Pitagoras. In the morning, I expressed my opinion in no uncertain terms that terrorist Khatib couldn't have been that "poor little introvert from Kfar Manda". Yet, the Arab propaganda and his family insisted that it was again a Jewish "criminal hand" who set him up for execution. No more,no less than that. Why wasn't I surprised at all by the chorus of shrieking Arab voices? But, why am I totally surprised now, when there is crushing evidence against Khatib, that no Arab voice has ever risen to ask forgiveness from the two Jewish guards whose lives were put by this terrorist and his backers in imminent danger ? Where are your posts saying you were WRONG and expressing sorrow over false accusations ?
21. # 17, Khalid
(08.12.07)
You can believe whatever you want but fact is your protege Khatib of Kfar Manda WAS a regular Palestinian terrorist. When you are ready to grab that, then you will start seing reason.
22. to no 7
robert littleworth ,   uk   (08.12.07)
the pals do stupid things every day why should this day be any different i remember when celebrating in lebanon israels departure the pals shot in the air for hours the result being several pals dead ......... talk about stupid
23. You can clearly see...
Josh   (08.12.07)
...his body gives out on him involunatrily. I do not believe any claim that he was shot after he went down. The video shows his last seconds of coherance.
24. Tibi retract his words??
(08.12.07)
He's a demagogue (among other things) and will most likely declare that the videos were touched up...
25. Underworld gun sale in isreal?
hizki ,   deutschland   (08.12.07)
It is not uncommon for isrealis who have access to weapons and palis to make deals, and for the *delivery* of the goods to be implemented as a *theft*. Like in all mafia deals, there is always the risk of betrayal - money changes hands before hand and the seller backs out and gets rid of the buyer. Who is most likely a small fry - the messenger. Now I am not sayong that is what this all about. But if it is, there is no way the video could confirm or deny this. It is perhaps better to let shabak complete its investigation and get to the bottom of it
26. the video
Yisraeli   (08.12.07)
Perhaps its a pity the clip stopped where it did giving the khalids of the world fuel. not that they NOW deny the incident but now want to claim he was shot when he was down. I would say on conjecture only even when he was down in a squatting position he would still have attempted to continue shooting as long as possible and theres every possibility he would have been shot back and finally finished off in that position, just because he appeared out for the count doesnt mean he was not armed as we all know he was. As long as he was armed no matter what position hes in he is still a threat.
27. #17 What a convenient time for the video to abruptly end
Raphael ,   Netanya   (08.12.07)
during Mohamed al Durahs shooting by his fellow Palestinians
28. oh and re firearms
Yisraeli   (08.12.07)
Israel has made it very very difficult for citizens to own a firearm. Many think that its easy to get a permit and carry pistols this is not the case. Ever since rabin murder they the Lefties have changed the rules and there are far less armed citizens now then ever before. which is a pity as every armed citizen may act as a policeman where there are none around. remember in Israel theres no cops who simply walk the beat, they dont have that kind of numbers. Border guards try and fill in those requirements in certain hot spots. I remember about 10-12 yrs back when the rules were not as draconian as today that there were times when the public was called on to wear their sidearms in times of high alert which boosted protection, but thats no longer the case today. Governments have been trying to remove legitimate firearms from the public and we all know why and where that eventually leads to.
29. After which the security guard EXECUTED him!
Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem   (08.13.07)
30. SO WHAT???
Terrorest Killed   (08.13.07)
So even if he was executed while on the ground HE DESERVED IT! Had they not shot him he would have been out FREE by our very own self destructing lefty Jews!
