1. Israel has just garunteed it will be discussed
zionist forever   (08.13.07)
If anything is more sure to put preasure on them to put asside space to discuss palestian rights its Israel calling for them not to do it. Its going to be seen as Israel has things to hide, Israel wants an occupation and all the usual rubbish. There will be public preasure to discuss it. What though makes the palestians have inalianable human rights that must be discussed but no other group has. There are groups all around the world in the middle of territorial conflicts but nobody talks about their rights, Russia has been occupying Chechneya commiting brutal acts but nobody talks about the rights of Chechens. The palestians are fighting a war with Israel because they want land and they are carrying out terror attacks rather than using diplomacyu to try get that land there is no genocide or anything like that going on. Simple you have something we want it nothing more but terrorists are killing Israelis to try get it so Israel retaliates.
2. Palestinians have no rights over us.
Boaz ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (08.13.07)
Nor we over them; – elementary Zionism! Each person and each nation own itself, through a separate state for each nation, thus giving equal status for each of them. But when Palestinians talk about ‘rights’, such as the right of return, and the very existence of the first ever free Jewish society – the state of Israel – as a grieve injustice to them, they talk about one Palestine from the river to the sea. Where the Jews are a minority, and they, the majority will have the ability to pass life and death decisions over us. THAT IS HAVING RIHGTS OVER US, THAT IS NEVER GONA HAPPEN.
3. The Inalienable Rights of the Jewish People.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (08.13.07)
Strange the UN doesn't have a conference on our rights. How about Kurdish rights? Don't Tibetans have inalienable rights? Basques have a claim to rights also. Maybe the UN should just have a conference on HUMAN RIGHTS, you know, like freedom of speech, freedom of religion, gay rights, womens rights, freedom of the press, etc. - all the rights absent from the Islamic countries.
4. The UN anti-Israel? Impossible
Benet   (08.13.07)
What could possible give you such an idea. The UN record speaks for itself. Representing the democratic principles of fair minded, freely elected governments, with impeccable record of human rights, their votes are based on a fair assessment of the facts. Nothing else. The UN always represents highly principled governments in whose countries citizens feel safe and are treated with justice and fairness. Why shouldn't they criticize Israel.
5. UN Implanted israel in the Middle East
bruce ,   NYC, USA   (08.13.07)
What a curse !
6. #4
(08.13.07)
i sincerely hope your talk back was sarcastic!
7. #6 - What do you think?
Benet   (08.13.07)
8. Probably, EU already agreed to host The (JOKERS)Committee!
KMR ,   Middle East   (08.13.07)
9. #5, Israel was there before UN, will be there after
David ,   Boston, USA   (08.13.07)
The curse is this experiment to create another Arab Palestinian state. IT doesnt belong, it has no historical basis, just an attempt to steal more land from Israel.
10. Oh my...!!!
enzo ,   london,uk   (08.13.07)
After reading their "Programme of work 2007" (Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People), I have no doubt whatsoever in my mind that Israel is right to ask EU not to host UN panel on Palestinians' rights!!! This is a short excerpt from their website: "The Committee denounces the use, by Israel, of excessive and indiscriminate force, extrajudicial killings and the destruction of Palestinian homes, civilian infrastructure and agricultural lands, with all the devastating effects on the Palestinian population. The Committee calls upon Israel, the occupying Power, to end its military operations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and to cease any other measures that further undermine Palestinian institutions." Ran Curiel, Israeli envoy to EU, is 100% right!!!
11. The UN did not implant us in the middle east.
Boaz ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (08.13.07)
We were already there; Zionism is an ongoing project since 1878, and even before. The UN acknowledged the realities on the ground and the right of both peoples for a state of their own, the right for self-rule and liberty. To bad the Palestinians and their supporters think that the Jews of all nation are entitled for freedom of any kind.
12. Israel Should Welcome Panel
Mr. Knowitall ,   Frostbite Falls MN   (08.13.07)
Israel should welcome the UN Panel and encourage an open debate on the plight of the Palestinians, well that is unless it has something to hide, which is exactly the message it sends when it tries to prevent such debates. I hope the EU tells Israel to bugger off and does not cower to Israeli attempts to hide its actions from the world.
13. Maybe the UN panel should talk Hamas into deposing Abbas and
Uzi ,   Haifa   (08.13.07)
smashing Fatah in Judea and Samaria, or even mandate Israel to help Hamas to do so. It will make it easier to abolish the PA and wipe it off the world map and consciousness. It will also open the way for the Kingdom of Jordan to take charge as the only state of the Arabs of Greater Palestine. Having got rid of the PA, Israel and Jordan should agree on the border between them in Judea and Samaria and maybe cede Gaza to Egypt that would sort it out quite smartly. Everybody, Jews and Arabs should continue to live in peace where they are and nobody should move from their homes or land. The Jews who would reside in the Kingdom of Jordan should be given Jordanian citizenship as well as rights and conditions like the Arabs in Israel.
14. E.U. Parliament
Stuart Bliwas ,   USA   (08.13.07)
Why does Israel have any reason to believe the views of the EU Parliament are any differant then the UN Panel they are objecting to. It seems to me that the record of the EU Parliament is no differant substantively then the UN.
15. Why do our UN dues go to pay for attacks on us?
Zvi   (08.13.07)
16. The EU is SHOCKED, SHOCKED! that Israel doen't trust it.
Scott ,   USA   (08.13.07)
17. #4 benet
jerome ,   basalt, co   (08.14.07)
your joking aren't you?!?!?!?
18. #12; Thanks for the advice
Mark ,   Georgia, USA   (08.14.07)
The UN a historically anti-Israel body for the last 25 years. Recently with the new UN head it seems to moving to a more neutral position. The UN panel is same group that sponsored the Zionism = racism group, hardly a neutral group. They have a recond of bias. Only people like you would say that Israel has something to hide. What? It is the only country in the region with a free press. If you have a specific accusation make it !! What plight of the Palestinians are you talking about? Mark from Georgia
19. #6, #17 Yes, I was joking
Benet   (08.14.07)
20. #18 - Pointing out the obvious is not bias
Mr. Knowitall ,   Frostbite Falls MN   (08.14.07)
The charges that the UN is biased are completely unfounded and merely part of the Israeli ploy of blaming all criticism of its own actions as being anti-Semtic, but that card is worn out and no longer works. If anything, the misuse of the US veto has made the UN biased in favor of Israel by making the UN ineffective in forcing Israel to abide by UN resolutions, international laws, the UN charter, the IV Geneva Convention and the list goes on. If you cannot see the plight of the Palestinians who are suffering under a 40-year-old illegal occupation and campaign of ethnic cleansing, all in violation of the IV Geneva Convention, then you are either blind or part of the problem. And you obviously are not aware of IDF censorship of news from the occupied territories, or the minor problem with Israeli snipers shooting foreign reporters such the British reporters James Miller who was recently killed by the IDF.
21. 20 - 2 UN chiefs conceded the bias exists, which you deny
THAT'S the obvious ,   USA   (08.14.07)
Both Ban ki-Moon and Kofi Annan before him (the latter certainly no fan of Israel, judging by his voting record) repeatedly and publicly criticized a number of UN agencies for this disproportionate focus on Israel. They noted that, in the past several years, Israel has been under more human rights investigations than all war-torn African and Asian nations COMBINED. Are you aware of the horrific things going on in Sudan? In Somalia? Any one of those places are far, far worse than Israel and gets only a small percent of the attention or aid that goes to the Palestinians. So, emperically, how can you deny a bias towards Israel exists? Even the leaders of the UN could not do so.
22. The palestinians have rights as a people
jlynch ,   USA   (08.14.07)
So does every other nation. Govs have no right to be biased. You cannot get rid if the hebrews or the pas.Globalazation GOvs. Gog Group vs globalazation govs
23. #20; Your right "pointing out the Obvious"
Mark ,   Georgia, USA   (08.14.07)
#21 said all there was to say about UN bias. Case Closed on that point your remarks are simply wrong. #20 writes: "If anything, the misuse of the US veto has made the UN biased in favor of Israel by making the UN ineffective in forcing Israel to abide by UN resolutions, international laws, the UN charter, the IV Geneva Convention and the list goes on." As we see 1) the UN is bias 2) since you fail to mention specifics or name what "UN Resolution, international law, the UN charter and IV Geneva Convention" it is impossible know what the heck your talking about ! But that is by design, people with no case love to talk in vague terms just to give their opinion some official sounding jargon. I'm unaware of any ethnic cleansing although it sounds like a good way to attack Israel without any basis in fact. Here is a website about true ethnic discrimination. http://www.theforgottenrefugees.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=43&Itemid=56 I hope you like the site above and expect the same concern you show about the Pals. I found it interesting that you brought up James Miller the British reporter/filmmaker who while doing a film of people caught in the crossfire was himself killed in crossfire. The Hazards of the job. Also it happened in 2003 ( not recently) as you stated. You had to go back 5 years just to find one incident. Impressive ! Submitted for your approval...or not Mark from Georgia
24. #20...one of the dumbest posts ever!!!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (08.17.07)
"Ethnic cleansing"...wow!!! Funny that Palestinian population is ever increasing, but idiots like you use the term ethnic cleansing so liberally. Palestinians kill each other all the time, but you say nothing..why? Muslims kill more muslims than anyone else, but you remain silent. The UN is not only biased against Israel, but they don't even try to hide this fact. Why you defend them is beyond any of us. Your blatant hatred for anything Israeli or jewish is the only explanation I can find for your thought process or lack there of. Find a new battle to fight, b/c you will never win this one. Israel will always have the higher moral ground over terror-loving, hate-filled, brainwshed people like oyu.
