One of the few good men.
2. A good man and a big man

The Maulana's a big man whose leadership deserves support. The tradition of resolving issues through dialogue and peaceful means lets facts speak for themselves. I hope his initiative will receive support also in communities elsewhere in the ummah whose words and deeds have been radically different.

I wonder how long it'll be before some fanatical maniac tries to kill members of that Indian delegation. From what I read here and in some "other" publications, it's not suicide or homicide. It's "resistance." The results are the same, but it must sound better to their ears.

Why u always forget that fundamentalist are there in every religion . Mahatma Gandhi was killed by a Hindu Fundamentalist.to whom some call nationalist Yitzak Rabin was killed by Zionist . but many call him Nationalist . The problem is this taht most people just want to see faults in others and want to hide thier faults. I m sure 95 % people who come on this website are Fundamentalist .. Civilised one i mean . They talk abt many issues related to one particular religion , but wants to forget and even try to hide the wrong doings which are even more dangerous then that particular religion followers.

While there are crazies under every rock the difference between Islam and Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism etc is that the current zeitgeist in Islam supports suicide attacks and the killing of those with a difference of opinions. The mainstream of the other faiths listed above do not support this. There is no moral equivilancy here. What differentiates these faiths is not that they do not abhorrant people among them, it is what they do with these people when they act out.

I agree with you to some extent, but some fundamentalists are just a little more rabid than others. I have a big problem with religions of any kind, but even more so with those that make it ok to kill people who will not "submit" to their beliefs. If I can't persuade you of the correctness of how I see things with the way I conduct myself, then I'm not doing something right, someone else was more convincing or you're scared to death of some hell or the other. Holding a gun to your head and forcing you into saying that you believe one thing or the other doesn't make for a good human being; you, me, or anyone else.
7. #4: Gandhi was killed by a SIKH, not a Hindu I think

In India, these Mullahs hold their people under tight leash. Hold the view that apostacy is punishable by death but agree that it cannot be metted out due to Indian law. All this "humpty-dumpty lets befriends the Jews" could well be an exercise in Taquiya. Also, I have serious issue with the "200 Million Muslims" because there are no 200 hundred million Muslims in India. This sounds similar to the way American Muslims exagerating their population numbers in order to acquire political capital. Roy

14. Why this is meaningless ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (08.16.07)
Unless you are informed in precise detail on the nature, doctrines, history, & current interpretations of an ideology like Islam, you cannot put any of these articles in perspective. Take a look at: http://jihadwatch.org/Islam101/ for an excellent & objective analysis of Islam.
15. #14 and meaningless
English guy ,   London   (08.16.07)
What is meaningless is your permanent psychotic addiction to hatred. My goodness, when the leader of India's 200 Moslems takes steps towards reconciliation - there you are rejecting reconciliation before it even begins. One could lose patience with you and your ongoing sick diatribes. You obviously do not want anyone in the world to be friends with ISrael, do you? You prefer a permanent state of hatred, war and destruction. Seek treatment.
16. too much
Observor ,   India   (08.16.07)
I dont know , why people with less knowledge try to comment. A fundamentalist who belongs to any religion , doesnt think abt his or her religion but abt this aim . Suicide bombing was started by LTTE in 1981 and after taht many organizations around the world started to use it to force Governments . #10 .. Mullahs dont have any power in India better stop smoking. India is a land of many religion and races and the best president of India was Abdul Kalam ..Muslim . First know then talk that would be better . specially in International websites . In India we have bigger issues like caste , corruption .. Muslims are not issue in India as many are trying to show in here.

We all hope for peace, but sadly, many suspect that this work is futile. Terry, your link didn't work, but I found what you were referring to. Great website - would recommend it.
