I looked up metin's "facts." He has it backwards. 500,000 Armenians fought against the Nazis. The casualty rates were 50% among the highest in all of World War Two. 16,000 captured Americnamians were drafted into a Axis "Armenian Brigade.' When this brigade was found to be hiding Jewish POW that he Aremnains officers had faked papers for in order ot protect them, in their own ranks, the brigade was transfered to Holland as Hitler did not trust them. The much larger Azari and Turkemen Brigades remained in the Caucuses and collaborated heavily with the Germans. As far as Bernard Lewis, he had holdings in Turkey and in the 1960 version of his book "emergence of Modern Turkey" called the Armenian genocide "a holocaust." He changed his mind after not be allowed back into Turkey until the return of the Military goverrment there in 1980 and his vault face..
