1. State: Officer blamed for death of palestinian
Marlene ,   Israel   (08.22.07)
Amazing, who compensates Israeli families when our children are killed????????
2. Not one grush!
Jew   (08.22.07)
What a disgrace. They start a war and we have to pay the price. When Israel becomes a Jewish state, this wil change immediately.
3. OH COME ON!!!! THEY WERE THROWING STONES NOT PETALS!
Talula ,   Israel   (08.22.07)
Yet another idiotic ruling by the so called 'law courts'. Send this judge into a village with stone throwing children, without a gun, and let's see how he gets on. The soldier didn't aim and shoot the boy on purpose, he shot into the air to try and disperse a group of stone throwing hooligans. He is allowed to do that, his life was being threatened. This soldier did not, in any way violate the IDF's code of conduct for soldiers and should not be punished for his actions. If they were not throwing stones, this boy would still be alive today. It's about time these useless people start taking accountability for their actions. And stop trying to squeeze money out of Israelis at any opportunity.
4. #1 Wake up !! You are the occupiers
(08.22.07)
Sometimes I wonder how some right-wing israelis are thinking. The occupation implies responsabilities and a price to pay. While Israel is clearing the palestinian inhabitants of Hebron, it is a predictable outcome that his citizens have a security problem.
5. THEY WHERE THROWING STONES THE IDF HAD EVER RIGHT TO SHOOT.
MIKE HAMEN ,   USA   (08.22.07)
TRY TO THROW A STONES AT US POLICE AND YOU WILL SEE HAVE FAST YOU WILL GET SHOOT IN THE HEAD.THE PEOPLE THAT WHERE TROWING THE STONES SHOULD PAY COMPENSATION TO THE IDF FOR ALL WRONG DOING.
6. self hating leftist judges everywhere
(08.22.07)
7. $123000 for a whole human being!
Nabulsi   (08.22.07)
that must be cheap ... the lockerbie victims got $20 million each and that was over a decade ago ... this just goes to show how bad double standards are in Israel.
8. Tip of the iceberg. murder and apartheid - not in our name!
Occupation Magazine   (08.22.07)

9. Although these are individual tragedies,
Glenn ,   Canada   (08.22.07)
the Arab PR is milking them for all they're worth. The following is an item broadcast by one of Canada major networks. Their news-only channel repeated it yesterday every hour on the hour. Briefly, it refers to a Gazan little girl who was rendered quadruplegic during a targeted killing by the IDF. She was riding one of the cars. Now the father is demanding life-long care in Israel for her daughter. Of course, when Israeli Jews were killed or disabled by suicide bombings, we never heard of individual cases. Jews don't exploit these things, and neither does the world media when the victim is a Jew. Here is the text report. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20070821/israel_girl_070821/20070821?hub=World
10. I wonder if Olmert appointed this judge
freejay ,   Israel   (08.22.07)
How can the state be responsible for an accidental death of a Palastinian boy while these same people want Israel destroyed??? They are the enemies of the state and we are at war with them, dont be mistaken! Pay them nothing!
11. 4 - occupation legal (by int'l law) for security purposes
i'm awake ,   why aren't you?   (08.22.07)
West Bank and Gaza were occupied for security purposes in 1967, in response to Arab aggression. The IDF could have taken more land but this was prevented by Moshe Dayan who wanted to highlight that the territory was only take for security reasons. UNSCR242, which people tout as proof that occupation is illegal, recognizes the need for security as a condition for Israeli withdrawal. And by the way, the wording does NOT specify that withdrawal of territories be the return of ALL territories acquired in 1967. It merely Israel withdraw from territories (not THE territories) to SECURE and RECOGNIZED borders. So YOU wake up: If Palestinians would stop threatening security, would renounce terror and recognize Israel's right to live in peace, then there would be a legitimate security reason to withdraw from territories. So far, not even the whole of the 'moderate' Fatah has agreed to that. The ball is in the Palestinian court and THEY KEEP DROPPING IT.
12. 7,Hamas, Islamic Jihad pay their Palestinian victims nothing
observer ,   US   (08.22.07)
They make Palestinian life cheap with their incitement to violence, glorification of death, education towards physical martyrdom. The amount of money ordered by the court to be paid over this teenager shows that Israel values his life $123,000 more than the Palestinian leadership does.
13. No. 7
NYC Girl   (08.22.07)
You must be kidding. The double standard is that Palestinians have been slaughtering Israelis with impunity...and Israelis don't get squat in compensation. And while it's tragic that this boy was killed, the blame belongs to the parents who allow these feral adolsescents to go out into the streets to throw stones at Israeli soldiers.
14. to 8 Not in my name
Yackov ,   Joburg sa   (08.22.07)
Why so we can read your Drek
15.  $123.000 too much for a terrorist helper
(08.22.07)
16. #4
Leah ,   USA   (08.22.07)
The term "occupation" used to justify terrorism and murder against innocent Jews often women and children,is just an excuse because ere was terrorism against Israelis before 1967.
17. Double standard?
true justice ,   Israeli , style   (08.23.07)
The Supreme Court dismissed a suit against the IDF brought by the families of two Jewsh killed by IDF soldiers. Yoav Doron and Yehuda Ben Yosef were killed by IDF soldiers while working as security guards near Kiryat Arba in 2003. The families have demanded the case be reopened. Arbel claims the investigation into the deaths of the sons was carried out properly and does not need to be reinvestigated.
18. Hello??? Are you insane!?
Jonas ,   SAD   (08.23.07)
That was a BOY, who was STANDING IN HIS HOME, behind a CLOSED WINDOW! He was NOT Hammas! He did NOT throw stones!! And you here GLOAT, yes, you GLOAT, over that child's death?? What if it were a JEWISH child? Would you gloat then? Or would comments go "Damn idiots in IDF, they should watch where they shoot!" Talking about double standards!
