1. Listen to this crap ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (08.31.07)
And this is from a former director-general of our Foreign Ministry. No wonder we're in such trouble. You can smell weakness a mile away - this guy stinks of appeasement, a real loser. Instead of tough negotiators who defend our interests, we have beggars - This is absolutely disgusting.
2. Be kind and be ready.
Giles Martin ,   Orlando FL USA   (08.31.07)
Give serious consideration to the Saudi Initiative. King Abdulah has no more interest in confronting is more radical subjects than Hamas has in encouraging peace. If a peace accord is anchored in international law and Arab consensus, then the Arabs are free to openly hate the Persians (Iranians). Five brigades should do it--control terrorism while building infrastructure, including the Gaza-West Bank corridor and two airports in place of the one that was bombed, not once but twice. Peace has benefits, continued conflict a net loss. To seek peace is also a virtue, while to stand aside and watch a people suffer, with the unresiliant hardened heart is not a virtue. Suffer for the transgressions of Solomon and let Israel once more be devided into two kingdoms.
3. #2........what do you know?
freejay ,   Israel   (08.31.07)
You are only right in one thing....King Abdullah doesnt want to confront the extremists, he wants Israel to confront them so they can destroy us. Cant you plainly see that ALL the Arab nations want the democratic Israel gone, especially the suadies!!.......Democracy is a threat to islam, even to the Saudies. You obviously dont understand the arab mindset and hatred of anything non muslim. This article is nothing but more lfeftie encouragement to try and harm Israels security.
4. Funny, Wasn't he a "Peace-Nower"?
Yisrael Medad ,   Shiloh, Israel   (08.31.07)
Funny, and I thought he was a "Peace Now" sympathizer when at the Ministry.
5. international conference-bad idea
Paulo2006 ,   lisbon,portugal   (08.31.07)
international conference was a bad idea. Israel will be isolated. What did madrid 1,brought? It paved the way to oslo . Oslo did not guarantee any peace for israel. Oslo ended in a Intifada in 2000). These kind conferences brought nothing for israel . The guys in these conference only want israel to withdraw from more and more territory. Its simple. Israel is framed since the fellows who have oil are the arabs that want israel to shrink more and more
6. Israel should go to the conference but
Jason, Ph.D. ,   Charlotte, USA   (08.31.07)
Israel should also make it clear that this is the Palestinians' last chance to have a state of their own. If they continue with the nonsense about a Palestinian right of return to pre-1967Israel, then it is time for Israel to annex the West Bank, regardless of that the immoral UN thnks.
7. The author's a great peace strategist. I endorse him fully!
Neville Chamberlain ,   London UK   (08.31.07)
8. 'All Romantics are destined to become bitter'
Uncle Fester ,   the basement   (08.31.07)
9. Equitable and practicable peace plan for Palestine:
Uzi ,   Haifa   (09.01.07)
Israel should let Hamas to depose Abbas and smash Fatah in Judea and Samaria, or even help Hamas to do so, in order to make it easier to abolish the PA and wipe it off the world map and consciousness. It will also open the way for the Kingdom of Jordan to take charge as the only viable nation state of all the Arabs of Greater Palestine. Having got rid of the PA, Israel and Jordan should agree on the border between them in Judea and Samaria and maybe cede Gaza to Egypt that would sort it out quite smartly. Everybody, Jews and Arabs, should continue to live in peace where they are and nobody should move from their homes or land. Israelis who would thus become residents of the Kingdom of Jordan should be given rights and conditions like the Arabs in Israel.
10. Do not compromise one inch of Yehuda and Shomron
e.m ,   s.f   (09.01.07)
11. international peace conference declared by Bush ?
Josh   (09.02.07)
Great - Syria is in charge of anti-terrorism What country was it against racism. Was it Iran or Iraq? Oh yeah and now US is heading up a confrence for peace. Why dont we put Soouth Africa in charge of farming real estate deads Palestinins in charge of mall security and airport bag checks Al quada as an trained ally of the US. Preist in charge of child protection and spiritual guidance Rabbis in charge of Torah interpretation ...and maybe the fox can watch the hen house if he isnt having dinner right now. This world is a trip.
12. diplomats
sas ,   israel   (09.02.07)
what do you expect with a foreign minister like Mrs. Livni.? She is good for nothing, does nothing. She is weak. Her words and actions do not coincide. She criticizes Ohlmert and remains in the government. GO HOME MRS. LIVNI
