I studied Torah orthodox and practiced a modern orthodox lifestyle, but I could not afford to live in an orthodox neighborhood, such as Beverly Hills, (for eruv) so I was forced to convert more strict conservitive synagogue. On the day of Pesach, I took a bus to join them for the meal, It was all arranged and I spoke with the organizer. They tossed me out - no food, just a rejection. At the time I was wearing tztizits, kippah and had a beard. I practice a daily lifestyle and observance of an orthodox. In stead I had to make it back home before the evening and scrambled to make my own loneosme Pesach meal. This has changed as I have figured out that most of the Torah they rabbis sell is chet additions to Torah. They make Torah expensive for people to accept - and I would assume souls are lost because of it.
