1. So we're blackmailed into a Holocaust? HAH!
Malcolm   (09.04.07)
WTF do these lunatics think? They are offering only one solution which is all out war. BUT ... ...Oh yeah...their god is on their side. After all...their god gave them Olmert & Livni, Gaza, a clear victory in Lebanon, UN troops supervising Nasrallah's missile shipments, free Sinai access by Egypt (their Gaza weapons depot), Israelis getting weak in the knees focusing on gay parades instead of security, ex-Soviets and Chinese selling them hot new weapons & George Bush on a slippery slope. So of course they think they're on a roll. But at some point they'll get too cocky and miscalculate. Unless of course their "god" turns out to be the devil himself. He has been known to pull off a Holocaust or two.
2. irans leaders make it plain-they are not changing
yahn goodey   (09.04.07)
their plans for domination of the middle east and muslim world.common sense says that the longer the west takes to deal effectively with these nuts the more damage that iran's leaders can inflict on us-best to ensure they are weakend before they get enough nukes to murder millions instead of the 100's of thousands yahya is threatening now.
3. Threats from Iran
Shai ,   IL   (09.04.07)
If Israel threatened Iran, Hizbollah and their ilk with: 1) You don't know how large our reaction will be 2) it could have a affect on Palestinians and 3) We'll vandalize the oil pipelines to the world I wonder if the world would grant us as much deference as they do to Iran?

5. OUR BOMBS ARE GREATER THAN YOURS!?!?
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (09.04.07)
IT IS TRUE THAT IRAN WOULD NEVER ATTACK A FOREIGN COUNTRY....BECAUSE ISRAEL DOES NOT EXIST AS A COUNTRY BY THE IRANIANS....BUT THEY WISH TO TURN IT INTO A MILITARY EXERCISE AREA...IN OTHER WORDS IT IS THEIR SALISBURY PLAIN.HOWEVER THEY SHOULD NOTE THE NEWTONIAN LAW OF PHYSICS THAT ...FOR EVERY ACTION,THERE IS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE ACTION, AND AMERICA HAS MORE NUCLEAR WEAPONS THAN THEY HAVE.SO THEY SHOULD STOP THE SABRE RATTLING...BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT BE IMMUNE FROM A SELF-MADE DESTRUCTION,
6. blackmail
ados ,   Boston, USA   (09.04.07)
Israel shoud think twice or more before to strike Iran first becose Iran may blackmail USA.
7. There is is the Trans-Arabia Oil Pipe Line
MARK ,   USA   (09.04.07)
By crisscrossing Arabia overland, the net of oil pipelines will bypass the Straits of Hormuz at the throat of the Persian Gulf and so remove Gulf oil routes from the lurking threat of Iranian closure. The threat of "closure" of the Straits of Hormus is a game between the US and Iran to raise the price of oil when in fact there is plenty of oil.
8. Iran's Threats and Craps
Brod ,   USA   (09.04.07)
How dare Iran issues a threat to the World's Super Power! Pay back time is long overdue. Despite their threats and craps, locking the genie in their bottomless pit would be easy. They think with their nukes, they can behave as the new Super Power in the region. It is time the Ayatollahist fanatics face reality-the sooner the better.
9. Ados-What Blackmail
Jellybean ,   Chicago   (09.04.07)
We already know that the U.S. and Iran helped each other with getting rid of the Taliban, besides at the end of the day I don't see Iran standing very long, their country, economy, and military in ruins.
10. Iran cannot attack Israel without killing palestinians
eric ,   EU   (09.04.07)
Therefore the palestinians are a useful enemy of Israel. I think, as long as the palestinians stay where they are, Israel doesn't need to take action against Iran.
11. Three Chaplin's Dictators

12. US would be wise to leave Iran alone and go home
Mr. Knowitall ,   Frostbite Fall, MN   (09.04.07)
The US has nothing to gain by attacking Iran, and in fact Iran may be the sole country that can bring stability to Iraq and help the US pull its troops out of the region. The US would be wise to discard the failed policies of the Zionist/Neocons and embrace the help from the regions powers of Egypt, Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia in stabilizing Iraq and enabling the US to pull out and bring out troops home for good.

16. Eric # 10
Bill ,   Oregon / USA   (09.04.07)
Thats a nice thought Eric but you are talking about a people who are quite willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces. They hate Israel so much they don't care who or how many they hurt. Israel can not afford to let Iran have nuclear weapons because the Iranians hatred is so great they will not hesitate to use them no matter what the cost. Their idea of wonderful is to die for Allah. They just don't think like we do Eric.
17. Last week the Little Dictator was saying something else
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (09.04.07)
He was saying that his god was protecting him and that the U.S. wouldn't attack Iran. Now he's rattling his sabers! Crazy lunatic!
18. Iran warns US over risks of Military Action
Roxy ,   Israel   (09.04.07)
The US and Israel are well aware of the risks if the US attacks Iran or if Israel does for that matter. However the danger is greater if Iran developes nuclear weapons, which can be used to destroy Israel and blackmail the rest of the World into complying with its demands. Israel should put out a warning to Iran what would happen if it were to to Attacked by Iran or Syria! Spell it out as simply as possible to them....anything comes this way and they will be Nuked by Israel!!!

Shai ,   IL   (09.04.07)
"The US would be wise to discard the failed policies of the Zionist/Neocons and embrace the help from the regions powers of Egypt, Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia in stabilizing Iraq and enabling the US to pull out and bring out troops home for good. " Knowitall, why do you have a problem believing that America was able to get into the situation it's in without "Zionist/Neocon" help? Do you seriously believe that if Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia supported the US in its invasion of Iraq that the billions of dollars that financed the insurgency, as well as the Baathist Iraqi leadership, could have escaped to Syria? Do you really believe that had the US forces gotten the political support from the nations you mention that it deserved, and thus been allowed to attack simultaneously from 3 fronts, that it'd be in the situation it is in today? Do you really think that America's preference, allowing Iraq to become 3 states, would have been prevented except for the demand by Saudi Arabia and Turkey that there be no new Kurdish and Shia states in the region? One wonders what sort of "help" you counsel, whether perhaps American interests are below some other nefarious interest that you are hiding, Mr. "Knowitall".
20. Ynet part of your report is not true........
Asher ,   NewYork, USA   (09.04.07)
The part of your report which quotes "Iran has always insisted it would never launch any attack against a foreign country" totally contadicts Ahmadinejad's famous "WILL"to wipeout Israel off the map. The new head of RG according to reports is close friend of Ahmedinejad. Please correct that part of your report.
21. Iran reacting from fear
R. Alkalai ,   USA   (09.04.07)
Iran is reacting in fear to Bush's threats. They now realize that he will indeed, make good on them, and with massive strikes, rather than "pin-pointing' small areas. Since they know Iran will retaliate in either case, the Pentagon has decided to level it all- completely destroying Iran's entire military, nuclear capabilities and facilities, hitting 1,200 targets, very quickly, with such massive amounts of ordinance- they will never have a chance to respond. Stating the US cannot evaluate it's troops' vulnerability is just totally absurd. The US oil reserves have been fully restocked and and "other arrangements" are currently taking place, so the economy is not terribly damaged. Hormuz will be re-opened by the US Navy, if it is shut down. 2 days ago, the entire USS Kearsage nuclear strike group, along with a number of other military assets in the area, were moved into position opposite the Lebanese coast- under the pretense of "protecting the September elections in Lebanon." However, Israel is not defenseless, and has many bombs- and you can be sure, many other things not talked about. She can strike and take out Iran on her own. This too, Iran knows. The US has the largest naval armada in history currently in position throughout the entire region-including the nuclear USS J.C. Stennis, and it's full nuclear armed compliment, along with the Nimitz group- also fully nuclear. There are well over 100 nuclear armed ships, subs and carriers positioned in the region. And that is just the US Navy. Iran is in no position to take on the world's most powerful. and well supplied military- and the Iranians know it. Iran has to buy most of what they have- and that means restocking. That also means that direct US hits to those pathways into Iran will block weapons and supplies from coming in. Therefore, she cannot sustain such a war. Nor can she survive the type, and massive amounts of ordinance that she will be hit with so rapidly.

Obama ,   Washington DC   (09.05.07)
Could you cc a copy to the monkey?
23. Iran Cornered
Obama ,   Washington DC   (09.05.07)
Iran was just assuming that only US is going to attack them. They discounted that fact that at least Israel, France would join in. How many countries would help Iran. Arabs neighbors? lol. The rest would love to see Iran nuke destroyed and the main sponsor of terrorism incapacitated. Once again, the monkey miscalculated.
24. #10 how naive UR!
jerome ,   basalt, co   (09.05.07)
do you really think the shia iranians really care a rats ass about the sunni palistinians? the only reason the hamass are supported by the iranians is that they attack Israel. they would nuke em all in a new york second if and when they could!!! stop your strong opinion with your ignorance about this subject.

encourage the USA and Iran to find a peaceful resolution to the problems if that is possible. WND News said a three day blitz of Iran's military will have a neutralizing effect on the Iranian threats against America and Iran. The problem is that a bigger war with Russia and some Moslem nations listed in Ezekiel chapter 38 may result. Daniel chapter 8 says the notable horn (USA) will break after Media-Persia (Iraq-Iran) are BOTH subdued. If war can be avoided, the notable horn will not break. Jan, a reader of tb's on YNET thought I said Iran would cause the notable horn to break. I do not think so, although that is possible. The Prophet Zephaniah in chapter one speaks of a nation that burns after the towers (9/11 WTC attack in NYC) fall. That country is likely the USA and the CAUSE of its burning is SIN. Will it burn from nuclear war? I do not know. Terrorists appear to be setting a lot of fires in America already. Chapter 2 in Zephaniah speaks of Israel, another subject. The consequences of war with Iran will be victory for the USA; BUT AFTER THAT, America will break into four countries after burning because of SIN. Ninevah repented and the judgment Jonah said would happen in 40 days was delayed 40 years. I hope the USA and Iran repent of their sins, to avoid conflict.
28. UNPREDICTABLE..................................
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.05.07)
Indeed, the extent and intensity of the Iranian response is what is making Bush think twice before launching any aggression against Iran. There is no doubt, however, that any aggression against Iran will spontaneously meet response from Hizbullah's,Hamas and probably the Mehdi and Al-Badr Brigade in Iraq inflamming the whole of Middle East beyond our comprehension.
29. To # 12
R.Alkalai ,   US   (09.05.07)
To the contrary, the US has everything to gain. Iran is not a stable entity. It only seeks to extend its philosophy of Islamic imperallism. If Bush truly intended to pull the troops out of iraq, he would. The US policies you refer to are the concepts of the US State department. They are based wholly on the US desire for oil, and for military and industrial monetary concerns. The philosophy of Zionism, or any other political, or religious movement does not enter into it- those are the concerns and thinking of smaller, less developed nations. It is all about money for companies like Haliburton and the oil barons- like Bush, Chenney, Rice and Saudi Arabia.
30. To #28
R.Alkalai ,   US   (09.05.07)
Bush has no reservations about launching the strikes. If he did, he would not be moving these types of assets into the area. If you were ever in the US military, you would quickly recognize this. Make no mistake, Iran will indeed be leveled. Make no mistake, they will not be able to respond. The Pentagon has already assessed that the various groups would react. They have also assessed dangers to the US homeland, and have been very quietly putting many things in place for that, too. Although, it would play into Bush's hands if something did happen, as it would rally the Congress and the people into exactly what he wanted- carte blanche. Much like the Pentagon's decision to level Iran, rather than use pin-point strikes (since Iran will react either way- if there is anything left), they are applying the same thinking to the other terrorist factions. And, by taking Iran out, it would put an end to a major source of funding and weapons to these groups.
