1. Racisim in the name of "Security"...
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (09.05.07)
I understand Israeli's security needs.... still, if he already has underwent a lengthy security check, why do you still need the exray....???
2. Is this a hoax?
Jo Jo   (09.05.07)
I didn't know zionists were capable of such displays of justice.
3. Give Me A Break
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (09.05.07)
Give me a freakin break! Since when do nationalist Jews get COMPENSATION when their civil rights are violated on a regular basis? When was the last time Arabs were thrown off busses when going to a demonstration?Remember the civil rights violations during/after the expulsion when Jews were thrown in jail for 'ideological crimes'? Arabs in Israel can call for sedition and yet STILL remain free.
4. Good Deal
Jon C ,   Minneapolis   (09.05.07)
I think this is great. There needs to be a balance...... Not every Arab is a terrorist and the people of El Al need to realize this.
5. fair enough!

6. 2500 - dollars?
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (09.05.07)
I don't understand why in a sovereign nation with own proper currency a public civil court permits to express a monetary fine in - dollars. If I were the IAA I'd appeal saying that the ruling is incomprehensible in as much as the fine is not expressed in shekels, the national currancy.
7. Jo Jo , the anti Israel goy
charles ,   petach tikva   (09.05.07)
You use the same term "zionist" as the most virulent anti Israelis do
8. to #4 It was not El Al, !
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.05.07)
Where in the article does it say El Al? Security needs are more important than individual rights. The courts should keep out of security matters. Arabs for the most part are our enemies and not our fellow citizens. They helped the terrorists plenty in the past and will do so again in the future.
9. Dollars!!!
Clive ,   Karmiel, Israel   (09.05.07)
I suspect that the court made the award in shekels, but Ynet believes that in its English edition it should convert to dollars. If this is the case, it is a serious error of judgment on the part of Ynet as the result is an inaccurate report.
10. #1, not racism!
Antonio ,   Haifa   (09.05.07)
His race is same as ours.
11. The Judge is wrong
Marlene N. ,   New York City   (09.05.07)
The airline in question should not have permitted anyone to fly if there was somehing wrong with the x-ray machine! However, this is Israel where racisim thrives and the $2,500 shekels means nothing. Imagine if Jews were singled out in any supposedly democratic society on the basis of their identity. The world would never hear the end of it.
12. To Marlene, #11
Jew ,   Jerusalem   (09.05.07)
Marlene, let's examine the facts if that's reasonable for you. Hate-Crimes against Jews are unfortunately common all over the world. In America, it seems sort of interesting that the Jew who spied for an allied country was given a sentence worse than any other person sentenced for that crime in the history of the U.S. (Jonathan Pollard). And of course, Sharpton runs for president, while it being said that he yelled "KILL THAT JEW" when the Jewish Shopkeeper was murdered by a Black mob. In Europe, Jews are discriminated against, and Israel is vilified more than any other country. Pretty interesting on account that Arabs in Israel have more Rights than Arabs in any other country- and genocides exist all over the world. But of course, "Israel" is that bad guy. No Jew-hatred there, right? Just innocent criticism that we don't have the Right to exist here? Suure. Now, those are the enlightened "Westerned Countries." The Arab countries, and by proxy, the Arabs in Israel are open Jew-haters to the extreme. The Arabs chased the Jews out of their countries, without any compensation- and of course, took their money. That is aside from the progroms that happened(albeit less than Europe) in places like Morocco. There's a reason Jews don't live in ISRAELI Arab villages in Israel, and it's not because we wouldn't like to. (And Arabs do leave in Jewish cities and neighborhoods, obviously.) Of course, you don't want to talk about Arab and Muslim anti-semitism. About how a Jew can't go anywhere near Ramallah or Gaza without an army behind him because of the fear of death. Israel, ironically, is at this moment run by fools who are more Pro-Arab than Jewish, a part of them full of hate, a part of them stupid, and a part of them hoping to appease people like you. Of course, until you open your eyes and lose your hate for the Jewish people, that won't happen. But perhaps when we have a true, honest, strong, forthright government with a fear of G-d behind it. Then you'll begin to understand that we didn't suffer for 2000 years, for the confused and hateful to try and wear us down.
