Michael ,   Texas   (09.12.07)
The issue with land confiscated during a war has been changed when the UN came about, but is still now enforceable. Look at all of the little and big wars, civil unrest and you'll see borders have changed many times over the decades. At one time Israel conquered the entire area. Then the Persian came along, then the British, then the next and next winner of any war.
92. Mid East Nukes and Such
Pearse ,   Trenton USA   (09.12.07)
I agree with Peter...can't we all just get along. Syria and Iran don't really seem so bad. I think it is a Trilaterialist plot against them or maybe the earth's poles shifted or..no maybe it's a solar flare...no aliens, yeah that's the ticket...oh hell I just know it HAS to be something else...RIGHT?
93. What about S. Korea...?
Ross ,   USA   (09.12.07)
One of the leading trading partners with Iran, and opponents of sanctions against the mullahs, is S. Korea. So we enforce sanctions to squeeze the People's Republic while S.Korea evades sanctions to makes money in Iran, which buys nukes from N. Korea and gives them to Syria to annihilate Israelis ...oh good grief.
94. #83 steve ,Liberals
Marcel ,   Florida   (09.12.07)
So true about the liberal compunction to kill their babies for choice. But we conservatives are not much better ,we elected a fake conservative who has outdone his predecesssor bill clinton in a leftist sell out of America .There is very little substantial difference between these globalists CFR demopublican's. Why can't the right admit they were screwed by this phony conservative Bush ? Are they too proud and blind like the democrats ? http://averyheavystone.blogspot.com/
95. OUR COWARDLY GOVERNMENT shows some bravery....
j ,   jerusalem, israel   (09.12.07)
....Olmer must have been sleeping when this decision was made. Good job IAF, it's too bad our "leaders" don't let you do more.
96. When does the USA start denoncing Israeli WMDs?
Stacie ,   Canada   (09.12.07)
And Apartheid policies such as Israel's bravest Sayeret Matkal have: "We shall no longer take part in the deprivation of basic human rights from millions of Palestinians. We shall no longer serve as a shield in the crusade of the settlements. We shall no longer corrupt our moral character in missions of oppression. We shall no longer deny our responsibility as soldiers of the Israeli DEFENSE force."
97. what will be the repercussion
larry williams ,   baldwin usa   (09.12.07)

98. Inevitable war
Aal ,   CA   (09.12.07)
Reading the development in the middle east, reading the Quran prophecy, bible prophecy, and nosterdamus prophecy, The War is Inevitable. In fact this situation now in the middle east well illustrated in the Quran interpretation and Muslims history in DETAIL, including Jewish state establishment , Iraq occupation, Iran as Muslim leadership and etc.... The first party will be: 1.USA, Western nations, and Israel against 2.An army lead by 12th Imam and Jesus , and free people all over the world And Jesus/12th imam will win this war.

Hey Peter form New Zealand....Stuff a Kiwi up your butt, it might get you thinking properly. To say Israel's national pastime is killing shows what a moron you are. If they wanted to wipe out the filthy, swarthy Arabs, they could do it in 2 days, genius. The Arabs killed you mention are in response to attacks the Israelis suffer. It's nice to know people on your remote, insignificant island care so much about the Middle East....Go away..
100. Report: Israel spots nuclear installations in Syria

(09.12.07)
yes, we thought so too in israel ....that peace will come. we thought so when.... 1. we did not occupy the golan heights, the west bank and gaza before 1967 and the arabs still killed us and called for wars and driving the jews into the sea and attacked us with a war. 2. syrians never practiced peace when they had the golan heights. they used it to bomb israeli villages and farms in the valley from the top of the golan heights constantly. this is why, when we fought against their aggression, we captured it. 3. before israel won the west bank, jerusalem and gaza, they were constantly bombarded by the arabs who constantly wished our death and dissapearance from the middle east 4. all the wars against israel were executed and started by the arab nations, calling in a frenzy, all the masses to annihilate the yahoods. is that practicing peace?
102. A NUCLEAR SYRIA & IRAN WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED
David P. ,   Central Coast, USA   (09.12.07)
103. WMD in Syria
R.J. ,   Albuquerque NM, USA   (09.12.07)
They said WMD was in Iraq, so lets start a war. WMD in N. Korea, WMD in Iran. Now there's WMD in Syria. But it's ok for Israel to have it. And it's ok for the U.S. to have it, even though they are the only ones to ever use it. So lets have Armageddon and just blow the whole world to hell. The U.S. still cries about the 2,700 that died in 9/11, and still justifies the 250,000 civilians killed by their nukes droped on Japan. America sheds tears for those that died at the W.T.C., but not one tear for the 650,000 civilians they've killed in Iraq. No weeping for the inocent civilians killed by Israel in Lebanon, or the Palistinian children killed. Hypocracy is the norm, but justice is coming. And the hyocrites aren't going to like it.
104. to Sagi
Eyal ,   Israel   (09.12.07)
I'm not at odds with you on this... I was just responding (briefly as I could) to Peter's comments and therefore I didn't elaborate on the cause of Israel's Pre-emptive strike back then. None of Israel's wars were wars of choice, and I certainly don't believe that the six day war was such, so there's really no need to set me straight.
105. #76, yeh, one problem with your comment
Danny   (09.12.07)
Israel hasn't said ANYTHING about what happened. The only "evidence" for any kind of incident is a Syrian say-so, some unmarked fuel tanks, and some uncorroborated off the record comments from some "defence officials" who heard something about what the Israelis "might believe". So far there is no evidence ANYTHING happened.

107. Not Enough Thinkers
Paul Revere ,   Portland, OR   (09.12.07)
Peter Morris. It must be nice to live in such an isolated island paradise. Unfortunately, it seems you are also isolated from reality. Your gleeful pronounced "death statistics" are worefully overblown, and your understanding. It's high time you and those in your "we're thoughtful" crowd started using your brains and learning your history. These issues transpiring aren't figments of anyone's imagination. They are happening, and need to be dealt with, decisively.
108. Fadi on Dumb IDF #25
Bill ,   Oregon, USA   (09.12.07)
You know, thats funny coming from someone whose religion teaches them that if you can't convert the infidel you must kill them. If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black I don't know what is. But you are almost right on one thing Fadi, Peace is not always the answer but whenever possible it is the best answer.
109. Just bad timing or...

it makes you wonder if Dennis Kucinich wasn't the guy who brokered the deal!!

as long as jordan gives back what they stole from the palestinians. how come israel gets all the crap about their occupied territories, but jordan gets a pass after they kicked the palestinians out? more of "palestine" exits in what is Jordan, not israel.
111. No surprise
B ,   US   (09.12.07)
It's pretty obvious that many other countries are working together to try to put an end to the US and Israel. They are giving us plenty of little warnings. I think that we should take them out in a major way while we still have the power. They don't believe we have it in us.
112. #103
Steve ,   Tucson   (09.12.07)
The reason Isreal has nukes is to protect itself. If it had not been for the threat of nuclear retaliation, Isreal would of been wiped off the map a long time ago. Why don't you take your butt out of NM and go and live in Isreal for a few weeks. You will see what they go through all the time. Rocket attacks, bombs, terrorist acts.. It is not a pretty site. Then ask yourself would you rather have nukes in the hands of a more civilized country or in the hands of cavemen?
113. Must be some truth...
Ian Jos ,   Toronto Canada   (09.12.07)
to this report. Why would the Chinese news agency report the N. Korean's reaction as " strongly denounce(ing) the above-said intrusion and extends full support and solidarity to the Syrian people in their just cause to defend the national security and the regional peace.", about an incident 6,000 km. from it's own borders? Perhaps the Koreans are a little pissed off that they won't be receiving payment from Syria/Iran anytime soon for their latest shipment? This isn't about ideology, it's about money. Thanks to Israel, the Koreans won't be getting a cheque anytime soon.
114. Syrian Nuke Site
Mike Boileau ,   Maple Ridge, BC Cana   (09.12.07)
Please tell us the exact location of these supposed locations of these nuke sites and we can google earth them and decide for ourselves if it is true. Otherwise, shutup!
115. Israel Spots Nuclear Installations In Syria
Bernie Medina ,   Jersey City, USA   (09.12.07)
It's time to take out Irans nuclear facilities or infrasctructure. Iran is responsible for the deaths of many US soldiers, and they must pay a high price for that. Syria's nuclear facilities must be taken out as well. A joint effort between France, Israel, and the U.S. would be very effective for this mission. "Shalom" to my Israeli brothers and sisters.
116. Syria
Daniel Gordon ,   Nevada, USA   (09.12.07)
This nation is a special friend of Nancy Pelosi and Denise Kuchinch, Hilarious Clinton and Obama Babama will go nuts if we threaten their good friends. Look for George Soros their commander and chief to order them to attack Bush if he gets antsy over Syria's right to protect themselves from American military action.
117. British forces massing on Iranian border
Ian ,   UK   (09.12.07)
According to today's independent newspaper in the UK, British troops have secretly redeployed from Basra City to the Iranian border within the last 48 hours, what with everything else that's going on looks like the big kick off is about to start chaps.

I suggest you research your facts. WMDs have been found in Iraq, just not enough to substantiate a war. A former Iraqi general stated that they shipped it all to Syria while France and Germany were keeping the coalition from attacking. North Korea twice detonated nuclear bombs. I would say that those are WMDs, wouldn't you. Iran has WMD, what they are worried about is the nuclear kind. Keep in mind that Iran would love to detonate a nuke anywhere in the US. That includes the plot of land your house is on. The justification for killing 250,000 japanese civilians is that it ended a war, not begun one like the deaths of 2,700. We still cry over the attacks on Dec. 7th. The other thing that needs to be said is that the US rebuilt Japan after the war and spent millions to do so. Why should the US shed a tear for the civilian deaths in Iraq? The US isn't the one killing them, other Iraqis and their fellow muslims are. If the Iraqis got the crap together, we could have already have been out of there. As for innocent civilians in Lebanon? Which ones are you referring to? The staged Cana incident? Israel apologizes for any killings of civilians and willingly treats them in their hospitals if they are injured, the palestinians applaud the killings of israeli civilians and teach it as a commandment from their god. So tell me again who the real monsters are? Get your facts straight and learn the truth for once.
119. To RJ the misinformed fool
Bear ,   NY, USA   (09.12.07)
1. The bombing of Japan while unfortunate ultimately saved up to 4 times as many Japanese lives that would have been lost in an invasion. Also as many as a 1/2 million US casualties. (Supposedly your countrymen) 2. WWII was started by Japan with a illegal attack upon the US with over 3000 casualties in a single day. (Sound Familiar) 3. From what Al Qaeda source do you get the 650,000 killed in Iraq?
120. Peter, Peter, Peter
Michael ,   Kansas City, USA   (09.12.07)
Last I checked, Isreali civilians were not sneaking onto busses and blowing up women and children or dropping morters on schools. And, so what if the death toll is lopsided? Why blame the person who is the defender for being better trained and armed? Seems logical to me that a standing army would inflict more casualties on a group of guerrila fighters than the other way around. If the suicide bombers were so worried about thie rown, they would stop hiding among them like cowards.
