wives/concubines. That should be an example of how a man should treat a woman he says he loves since the Bible says if you do not provide for your own, you have denied the faith. Stalin claimed to be an atheist, but he provided for his own, even a concubline or half-wife, which shows he had a conscience and may be one reason he remained in power such a long time. Using a woman and throwing her away and having to be forced by the courts to provide for offspring is not pleasing to God if a blessing in life is hoped for. In America, divorced men often have to lose their driver's license (California) or passport (America) to be willing to pay back child support. Mr. Katsav should have been as wise as Stalin and maybe he would still be in office.

Be sure your sins will find you out. I am surprised this was let out. I guess we will never know the true story.
6. Russian emigrants to America say the Jews were treated
Rivkah   (09.21.07)
better under the communists than under the tzars. They say churches were burned down in Russia under the Communists, but not synagogues. The Jews were allowed to worship with less persecution than the Russian Orthodox Christians. A Seventh Day Adventist woman named Demi McFadden who emigrated from the Czeck Republic said she was never mistreated by the government when it was Communist and was allowed to worship as an Adventist in the Czeck Republic. When she came to America, she was mistreated by the Sacramento police who beat her and her son and husband and her son's wife up and hauled them off the jail when all they did was to talk in a car parked outside a dance hall. There were no illegal drugs or reason for the mistreatment and they were all released the next day from jail after signing a paper that said nothing happened. There is a higher imprisonment rate in America than in Russia under the Communists. Perhaps that is why Russia is going back to Communism under President Putin. Even a KGB Colonel (Stanislav Lunev) defected to America when gangsters took over Russia. He would never have defected he said if the Communists had stayed in control. Surprisingly, the original communist was Joseph in the Bible. He found a way for the government under Pharoah to own all the land and to rent it to the farmers and former landowners when they needed food during a famine. I think Joseph invented Communism.

Ana Rubenstein WAS the legal wife of Josef Stalin, but the evidence of that (license) was destroyed and deleted from the public records. But even if she was only a half-wife or concubine, was that a sin as you suggest? A Levite Priest in the Bible had an unfaithful concubine (half-wife) who was raped to death by the men of the tribe of Benjamin. The Priest cut up her body and sent parts of it to the other tribes who gathered in a war against the wicked men of Benjamin. Many thousands of Benjaminites died because a common-law non-legal partner half-wife was murdered. Did she have a value, even though she was unfaithful and not a legal wife? Obviously, she did. From the beginning, there was no divorce and marriage was to be one man with one wife for life. Did having multiple wives keep Moses or David or Solomon out of heaven? No. They provided for their own, which most men are unwilling to do. Which is the sin of Stalin that was found out? That he provided for a woman he loved? That he deleted the marriage document from the public record when staying in power meant not publicly being married to a Jewess? The Bible in Isaiah talks about a time that is coming when seven women will take hold of one man and beg him to let them ALL have his name because there will be so few men left alive after wars. Will that be a sin for the man and for the women? Or is that more honorable than being concubines or single and childless? Few American Presidents have been faithful sexually to their wives, but even Grover Cleveland who was single and accused of being a father to an illegitimate child when the mother had sex with five other men and did not know who the father was...Grover Cleveland PROVIDED for a child that MIGHT have been his and he was elected President for being honorable enough to provide for the child. It was a big public scandal in the newspapers. When he did what was best for the child, regardless of whether he was the father, God blessed him with the election win. If there was a sin for Josef Stalin, it was in the genocide of Kosaks and many others for reasons I do not understand. But taking care of Ana Rubenstein and her child by her former husband was not a sin. That PLEASED the Lord, in my opinion.
8. #5 Patricia cont'd: do you think Ariel Sharon could have
Rikah   (09.21.07)
stayed in power if he had a Christian wife after his wife Lili died? Not if the public knew about it, is my opinion. Likewise, Josef Stalin could not have stayed in power if the public knew he had a Jewish wife. But having a love for Ana Rubenstein was a protection for Jews in Russia under Stalin. The synagogues were not burned down as the churches were, for example.
9. hmmm...wonder what else is in those "classified party files"

his jewish daughter must be very insane to keep incontact with him after knowing that he was an "anti-semetic tyrant".... or was he? maybe the story is still unfolding. it's great that all this new information is popping up.
10. #9 C.S.: Stalin was anti-Christian and put on a show of
Rivkah   (09.23.07)
anti-semetic, but the fact that he had over 300 churches burned down in Russia but not one synagogue tells me that Ana Rubenstein was likely an "Esther" for the Jewish people in Russia during the Stalin era. The side a man shows his wife/concubine and the woman's daughter is another man than the ruthless dictator his enemies experienced. There are many people who hate Ariel Sharon and many who love him, but I have only felt his love that is uplifting for me and makes me feel happy to be near him even from a distance. I am sure Stalin had a similar effect on many people. Sir Winston Churchill said Hitler was the most mesmerizing speaker he ever heard.
