1. This Jew loves the ICEJ - Keep up the good work
Andrew ,   Miami,FL   (09.25.07)
you are a great organisation who truly understands why Israel has returned home - and thats its a good thing to all my fellow jews - welcome them - they are REAL freinds
2. Thanks but NO THANKS - Jews left Europe to Get AWAY
Sasson ,   Holon, Israel   (09.25.07)
from all of this, we DONT WANT IT HERE. RESPECT OUR WISHES. You can help us, but don't expect we are going to convert because we WILL NEVER CONVERT. They should really just ban this.
3. Understand you
Observant Jew ,   Israel   (09.25.07)
Malcom I agree with you 100% Unfortunately Judaism in Israel has been hijacked by the Haredi cult who in no way represent true Judaism, even though they claim to have a monopoly on it.
4. CANT YOU FOR ONCE RESPECT OUR WISHES - SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!
(09.25.07)
If you cannot even respect our wishes that we don't want Jewish participation of Christian events, then you don't respect us at all. Respect our decisions, respect our Rabbi's rulings and JUST LEAVE US ALONE.
5. Christian Pilgrims Are Welcome.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (09.25.07)
You can ignore the rabbis - most of us ignore them as well. The vast majority of Israelis, secular & religious, are not fans of the obscurantist opinions of rabbis with a 15th century mentality. As long as your intention is not in missionary work, your beliefs are your own business. We appreciate your friendship & support - and you are certainly welcome to celebrate Sukkot with us.
6. Christian Pilgrims
Ayman ,   Palestine   (09.25.07)
Those are not Christians and have nothing to do with Christianity! They should stop calling themselves Christians.
7. I Can't Tell
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (09.25.07)
Can someone please tell me which Christian groups are missionary and which are not? Are there any Christian groups/sects which, by policy or doctrine, against missionizing, particularly to Jews?
8. Hedding is right-but only up to a point
Chanya ,   USA   (09.25.07)
It is true that many Christians come to Israel and relate to Jews, especially during Sukkot, for the "right" reasons, so to speak. But even if ICEJ has never conducted missionary activity, it would be either naive or untruthful to say that missionary activity is not being done in Israel by Christians on a regular basis. It happens all the time. We welcome Christian groups for their friendship, but it is simply not true that "all" Christians have given up missionary activity. It would be nice if Rev. Hedding acknowledged that.
9. Rabbinical decisions and recommendations....
Hiram ,   Paris   (09.25.07)
....are an other deterrent for "foreigners" to come and associate as tourist with Israeli people......These statement remind me of the vast quantity of decisions taken by Islamic auhtorities long ago when it came to having foreign visitors of non moslem religion. Anything done "in the name of God, in the name of religious purity is a non-sense. Relgion must be a private matter between the individual and God and NOT a dictatorship of the mond like the one some rav are trying to impose upon people in Israel . Abusing religion is not only dangerous for your health but can trigger a very painful death....Sorry folks, it is not politically correct ...but ......
10. #4 And yet you respect the monetary assistance we pour into
your country & ur ,   economy. Hypocrite!   (09.25.07)
11. WHY these:"have touched the poor, the elderly, the disabled"
ilana   (09.25.07)
Because these deceptive missionaries PREFER one on one with the unlearned or those who have needs! They pormise much to anyone who will listen to their pagan god message. ALL they want is NUMBERS that have (our of Torah ignorance) accepted their jeBus as messiah. These are the most evil of our enemies. They want our souls. WHY are they still in Isreal? Of course! It is now a PC place rather than G-d's land! Get their poison OUT and RICHARD BOOKER FIRST ON LIST TO GO!
12. Great article, Mr. Hedding!
Matt Hoffman ,   Amherst, MA, USA   (09.25.07)
13. Michael Hedding is a liar and a fool if he believe's that.
Richard ,   New York, USA   (09.25.07)
14. #7 Reuven: Armish and Catholic..
abdullah ,   ashkenaz   (09.25.07)
have an official policy of not missionizing jews. Perhaps .quakers. too but not sure.
15. Christians are welcome in Israeli synagogues on sukkot
abdullah ,   ashkenaz   (09.25.07)
That would be the best way to show friendship.
16. Shame on you, Mr. Hedding, for denying the Gospel
Barbara ,   USA   (09.25.07)
You are supposed to be a Christian. Why are you so ashamed of the name of Jesus Christ, and His Gospel? He certainly had no reservations about preaching His message to the children of Israel.
17. Very Sad!
ephraim ,   diaspora   (09.25.07)
Why so much hate towards those who love you and love the Father? Those who are so hateful should study Torah! You think you are so holy and yet you spew out your hate towards people who only want to love you. I have news for you. Jerusalem is the place where the Father has placed His Name. He is not only the G-d of the Jews. He is the G-d of all who will come to Him in obedience to Torah and love of Mashiach! Jerusalem is the City of the Great King. It is my city! Israel is my land as well as yours. Your bigotry is no better than the anti-semites you dispise so much. Grow up brother Judah! You are supposed to be taking Torah to the nations. As for trying to be missionaries to the bigots, those of us who has proper understanding knows it would do no good. We just pray for you.
18. #6 - Ayman, perhaps you can enlighten us all...
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (09.25.07)
If these Christian pilgrims from the US aren't Christians in your opinion and "have nothing to do with Christianity", can you please enlighten us as to who the "real Christians" are? If you are unable (or unwilling) your silence will speak volumes...
19. icecj & the march in Jerusalem.
J.Hardisty ,   Paso Robles Ca.USA   (09.25.07)
I welcome all positive interaction between X-ers & us Jews. Here In the US,they use the call to save Jewish souls as a money maker for them. They show Jews in Israel coming to X to make money on their X'er stations. B'Shalom,J.Hardisty
20. Finally
Smiley, not ,   holy city, holy land   (09.25.07)
For years I have been telling people don't trust christians and don't take money from them. As soon as you say or do something they don't like, they will turn on you and make the neo nazi's look harmless by comparison (read #17). Maybe now they will show who they really are, no more pretending to "love" us, and Jews will wake up before it is too late.
21. Ilana , should they help the rich ?
charles ,   petach tikva   (09.25.07)
The young , the healthy ? Christians from around the world are helping institutions here , not only from the USA , but also from Italy and the Netherlands . And this without any missionary work . There can always be a missionary between them , but i don't think we may generalise . I think that we have to welcome them , at least for their contribution to our tourism industry . But no missionary work here , even if i think that they can't have much succes with Jews .
22. 1.4 billion Musdlims dying to make pilgrimage to Al-Aqsa,
(09.25.07)
but Israel friend has been blocking the way for 40 years, why? don't you know!
23. #7: A perfect question!
Damir ,   Russia   (09.25.07)
The answer is: The groups you do not see much of. If Christians do not preach right and left they keep mainly themselves to themselves. I shall name also Russian Orthodox Church. Currently the religion being kind of hobby the Russian Christians are generally quiet and decent people.
24. #10 Well Said!
ER ,   Canada   (09.25.07)
You are certainly writing in the tradition of your Jesus! He also called the Jews hypocrites and other nasty names.
25. #17 Who ever you are.
ER ,   Canada   (09.25.07)
Nice diatribe, whoever you are. You at least show the true face of Xians. Are we to believe ICEJ's promises, or are they like Esau's offer of partnership?
26. #18 True Christians are like Origen...
ER ,   Canada   (09.25.07)
...and the other Early Church Farthers who would rather kill Jews or have forced conversions and pork eating than let live.
27. #16, Barbara
Connie ,   VA. USA   (09.25.07)
They will know who is Christian "by their fruit". "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another". John 13:35 Love and compassion speaks louder than words.
28. Rushing Messianic Times
Simcha ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.25.07)
The prophecies which these xians quote as justification for their invading Jerusalem with their blatant acts of idolatry are yet to be fulfilled. They will obviously come at a time when all false gods have been rendered irrelevant, after the War of Gog uMagog. It says inTanakh that those who remain of the nations who came up AGAINST Jerusalem (in a time that is yet future for us) will be required to come to Jerusalem and pay tribute to the King Messiah on penalty of having their rain withheld if they refuse. Since we see that the countries from which these "pilgrims" originate are those intent on establishing a Pal. state on OUR God-given land, I'd say things are on track, but the fulfillment is not yet here, else they would not be worshipping a dead Jew in their gatherings. In the future, they will come in humility and submission to the King Messiah and not with smug, self-satisfied, self-righteous smiles, speaking together about how they will enlilghten the "blind" Jews.
29. #7 mormons are the greatest ever missionary
(09.25.07)
Mormons, even have been posthumously baptizing thousands of deceased Jews (among them Holocaust victims) and those of other faiths. Agreement was reached in 1995 to stop that practice, but now and then mormons breach the agreement.
30. Are Jews so fearing those Christians ?
charles ,   petach tikva   (09.25.07)
What is this ? Do you think that a Christian can convert a Jew with a smile or some nice words ? Do you think that we Jews , religious and seculars alike , are so weak that it's easy to convert us ? As i said it already , they can come with thousand people , they'll have no chance to influence me , and i'm secular , so what if they approach a religious person .? A question : can someone give me the number of Jews converted by those people attending this event since 30 years ? PS : Mormons are not coming here for Succoth , not related to our discussion .
