31. having heard Mr Hedding speak very diferently in private
Jewboy ,   jerusalem   (09.25.07)
He is faking love very well, but certainly he does happen to despise Jews. When I heard some of his views I was shocked. No wonder the rabbis do not want to legitimize him.
32. In these turbulant times Israel needs all
Allan ,   US   (09.25.07)
the friends it can get. These evangelicals are our friends. Welcome them. The rabbis are dead wrong! There is no conversion without will (an inherent gift from shamaim). If a jew does not wish to convert, he won't. If he does, he will.
33. #28 Simcha you r right to a point...
Stan ,   New Zealand   (09.25.07)
the King Messiah will soon come and reign from Jerusalem, but this will be His second coming. Have you not read in the prophet Isaiah, from the end of the 52nd chapter to the end of 53, about the Suffering Servant who dies for the sins of the people and yet lives on? Why is this portion of the Bible not read in the synagogue and rabbis keep quite on this passage?
34. #21 Charles, NO missionary donation is without "strings"
ilana   (09.25.07)
And those strings are overt OR covert indroduction to christianity and a message Jews are "incomplete" with jeBus. That is a fact. IF they wanted to help, they would take their money and GIVE IT DIRECTLY to JEWISH ORGANIZATIONS that would better know how to use it and NOT contaminate the funds with a pagan message. NO! They NEED the contact with the unlearned, the orphaned and the needy. They are poision. So ASK them why don't they give to Jewish Organizations rather than taking their message to our people wrapped in material goods and rolled in money?
35. #26 - ER, a little more clarification...
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (09.25.07)
Hi ER, it sure is mighty nice of you to stand up for defenseless little Ayman, who despite his big mouth, doesn't seem to have much intellect to back up whatever flies out of it... Nevertheless, despite the fact that you've butted your opinion into a discussion where you weren't invited, I figure I'll have a little fun with you as well... My question to you is this: Seeing as the first Christians were Jews who strictly followed Jewish Halakha and it was only after Paul twisted the words and message of Jesus (which included complete submission to Halakha), fusing it with the numerous pagan ideologies prevalent in the Middle East (which included conversion by force and consumption of unclean animals) to make Christianity more attractive to non-Jews, how is it that Christians who follow these Pauline doctrines are more Christian than those who held to the original principles taught by Jesus? ER, what goes for Ayman goes for you as well: Your inability / unwillingness to answer the question will speak volumes...
36. Why
Sami ,   Palestine   (09.25.07)
Why they don't go and visit the Christians in the Holy land, they only want to see the Jews ? think about it
37. ICEJ
Gary A. Glaser ,   Hutchinson, MN, USA   (09.25.07)
While I am formally a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, I can't speak for the organization, but only for myself. However, Jesus himself was a Jew, so I see no need for converting Jews.
38. I'm a Convert; and can say that too many Xians are still...
Robert ,   LA CA, US   (09.25.07)
"Hellbent" (pardon the expression) on trying to convert "nonbelivers". IMHO (based on my personal experience) It's their "raison d'etre" (sp?) to convert Jews, non-Xians, and "harass in order to re-convert/defame/destroy the livelihoods of" ex-Xians (e.g., Gerim and Noachides). It's not as pleasant as Mr Hedding would like for things to be. There are too many people willing to engage in "foul play" to support their Creed - all "forgiven and forgotten" in Confession. Until Xians renounce targeting Jews for conversion and persecuting those of different opinions, they really can't be trusted on face value.
39. we are whith you
israela ,   tel-aviv   (09.25.07)
Rabinate is exarerating, but those who want to play down the event and keep jews away form is there are local leftists, who hates Christian Sionists, because of their right-wing agenda. Its pity that those naive rabbis are so easeally manipulated.
40. very sad to read many comments
Helena ,   Finland   (09.25.07)
but I say to myself: these people don´t know real christians and they have reasons to be afraid. 5.Terry, thank you for your kind words. Christians don´t do what they do to get thanks but to become beaten for the good is not so easy. Warm words warm heart and we keep doing... People who want to go to this Sukkot celebration are ready to pay for their love for Israel. They are not quilty of the sins of other so-called christians who have hated jews in the name of the religion. 11. Ilana, you have hard words. "They are the most evil of our enemies." I hope one day you will see real christians who are just opposite than you thought. We are sure the best friends of yours, even then when you hate us.
41. To Jewboy
Helena ,   Finland   (09.25.07)
"He is faking love..." This is quite an accusation and you should explain those views of him that shocked you. How is he despising Jews! I think you want only to slander him without any proofs. Mr Hedding and ICEJ have been on Israel`s side during peaca and war and they work with their heart.
42. To 30. charles
Helena ,   Finland   (09.25.07)
If I could come to Israel for this celebration, I would come. I have never said anything to anybody about my faith, unless somebody asks me and wants to know why I love Israel and travel there. I think I have a right to answer and to talk with people like every person. Is that illegal in Israel? Like you said are the people afraid of nice words and smile? I have read that young people in Israel like eastern religions and in Israel you have all kinds of religious groops and opinions. I don´t understand why we, christians who want to support Israel, are unwelcomed? We cannot spoil anything, can we? "Love hurts..."
43. Messiah
Norway   (09.25.07)
Christians don't need to convince Jews that Jesus is Messiah. When the Messiah the Jews are waiting for arrives He will say so Himself. Messiah will say: "I am Jesus." And He will show you the marks in his hands left by the nails. He will do this in Jerusalem at the moment He starts His Kingdom.
44. We all have repentance to do.
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (09.25.07)
Noble first step. Step Two the realization that a man cannot be a G-d. Step three realizing that Jesus was not the Messiah. So, now what do you have left; the realization that the Christian world took a long detour to come to accept and appreciate the eternal Universal truth of the Torah. Now what is needed is Christians to undo the damage they did to the Jewish people after 1000's of years of persecution, and help wayward Jews return to their G-d given destiny.
45. We love you Mr. Hedding
Dan ,   Tel Aviv   (09.25.07)
Mr. Hedding, Do not let some of us discourage you. You have to remember that half our Country voted for the Oslo accords. They believed that Arafat was our friend. Many of us don't know the difference between friend and foe. Continue to stand with us. In the book of Joshua it say "Do not fear, thou not be dismayed. Courage and freedom will win and the purveyours of panic will loose" Thank you for all you do. thank you for standing with us when noone else will.
46. WELCOME TO ISRAEL
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.25.07)
47. #31: can you be more precise? What exactly did he say ..->
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.25.07)
->.. and when, where, what occasion and to whom he said what you claim you've heard? I'm not challenging what you claim, I only want to hear more details, because if what you say is true, then everybody must be aware of this. Just saying "I heard this and that" is not enough for a credible account. We need verifiable details! Please provide them as quickly and as accurately as you can. THANK YOU!
48. TO ALL THE JEWS WHO WRITE OUTSIDE OF ISRAEL, JUST SHUT UP!
mira ,   beershevA   (09.25.07)
you are always so negative with such a exile mentality. we israelis i mean normal ones the ones that were born here welcome our friends the christians who come here for god's comand. welcome friends and please just ignore those whatever. I WISH BUSH COULD COME.
49. Xtians : Cross Over, for we have the Torah...on our side..
ben ,   singapore   (09.26.07)
The Lrd G-d is with us... by the way come but dont evangalise to us or our children. Glad you all came... I have message : -)~ After the Exodus from Egypt, the Jews wandered for forty years in the desert, an arid an inhospitable environment that did support life. Nevertheless, they survived happily with compaints and complaints. They lived through continuous miracles too--the manna that fell from heaven each day and the "clouds of glory" that protected them from the blazing sun and heat. Their survival, on a moment-to-moment basis, was so clearly dependent on G-d that it was impossible to sustain the illusion that it was natural in any way Over those forty years, the awareness of G-d's real, constant and protective presence was implanted deep within the Jewish psyche. Although this tangible awareness has since been challenged by thousands of years of exile, it remains imprinted in our spiritual DNA. It awaits only the right circumstances to rise to the surface once again You shall dwell in sukkot (huts) for seven days… so that you will know, for all generations, that I had the Children of Israel dwell in sukkot, when I took them out of the Land of Egypt; I am G-d your G-d" (Leviticus 23:42-43) When you retun to your homes take the inner dwelling with you, the spark of Sinai The true Torah will concure you as a whole and you stay in accorcae with the Lrd G-d of Yisrael - HaShem, the Malik. Welcome : -) ~ ben singapore. : -)~
50. #35...Joe
ER ,   Canada   (09.26.07)
Joe, I didn’t know you are the facilitator from whom one needs permission to write a talkback; nevertheless, your question is not hard to answer! Your Pauline pagan doctrines were not only endorsed by Jesus’ family at the First Jerusalem Council, they were also upheld at the Nicene Council. Jesus was probably net even Jewish. He was a Galilean who, like the Idumeans and Samaritans, were Gentiles who were generally recognized as true converts. In any case, his teachings were definitely NOT halactic!
51. Are you Xians still saying that?
#33---Stan ,   Canada   (09.26.07)
Before repeating garbage spewed by Jew-hating pulpits, you should actually check whether what you say is actually true! That way, you won't be known to be an idiot without creditability. Contrary to the Xian urban legend, Isaiah 53 is read in all synagogues each year, however, the original Hebrew version doesn’t have Jesus, or any other human having a “Second Coming”.
52. #7 Reuven - How can you tell?
Daniel   (09.26.07)
Those that are not interested in converting you are signing up petitions to boycott Israel. There's no free lunch. Whatever is given, is given with a reason. That's human nature.
53. #48 TO ALL PORK EATING BLEEDING HEART ISRAELIS.....SHUT UP.
DONT ASK USA SHULS ,   FOR $$$, .....DACON9   (09.26.07)
54. To #51
Gary A. Glaser ,   Hutchinson, MN, USA   (09.26.07)
I had heard someone repeat that urban legend, had tried checking on it (I don't take anyone's word for anything.), but hadn't come up with anything. Thanks for setting the record straight. It's surprising what one can learn from reading these talkbacks.
55. #50 - ER
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (09.26.07)
You're right, I'm not the facilitator from whom one needs permission to write a talkback; I was, however, specifically calling Ayman out to put some money where he put his mouth. The argument really had nothing to do with you so your contribution was neither wanted nor necessary... As regards "my" Pauline pagan doctrine, let's get one thing straight... I'm Jewish, my grandparents came from Syria, I've explored the issue of Jesus being Mashiach in depth and I don't need any more proof that Jesus isn't Mashiach. As regards the Council of Jerusalem, the compromise made by James wasn't that Halacha wasn't binding, the issue being discussed was whether Gentiles had to follow Halacha in order to be "saved". While James originally took the position that Halacha was binding on Gentiles, the outcome of the council was James agreeing that the 7 Laws of the Noahide Covenant were binding on Gentile converts, not all 613 Commandments outlined in the Torah. Just so you know, the Noahide Covenant is a Jewish creation and is a far cry from the pagan doctrines rampant during the first millenium. As regards Jews and observance of Halacha, the status quo of forcing Jewish Christians to be observant was maintained by James after the Council of Jerusalem, while this doctrine was rejected by Paul. As a matter of fact, Paul even advocated Jews dropping observance of Halacha, which is completely at odds to what Jesus preached.
56. #2 Sassan: There is no need for you to convert...
Rivkah   (09.26.07)
Jews have a valid covenant with God to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as long as your worship Adonai, Hahem El Shaddai, Jehovah or the many other names of the one true God. The Jewish covenant PREDATES the covenant with God to Yehoshua (Jesus) for the Gentiles. The Gentiles needed some Jewish teachers, so the Lord told Paul (Saul of Tarsus) to teach them along with some others Yehoshua taught. The Messiah for the Jews is coming from the sky Zechariah said and will touch down on the Mount of Olives and walk through the Eastern Gate into Jerusalem, ending the Gentile world rule and establishing forever the Jewish King of King's rule over the earth. As a Jew who is a Jew in his heart, you are a part of the root of the tree of faith while the Gentiles are a grafted on branch. The eyes of the Jews are blinded to the name of God the Gentiles know, so the Jews are not held accountable for knowing that. It is enough for the Jews to look forward to their Messiah who is coming to save Israel when all nations of the earth attack. If the Resolution 666 of the EU that was confirmed for seven years with the New ENPI is the Covenant with Death Daniel spoke of, then the Jewish Messiah will come withing seven years. Christians are WRONG to expect Jews to convert. It is Christians who must convert to being Jews in their hearts, Jesus said. But they prefer pagan origin holiday feast days instead of the Holy Days of the Lord that the Jews observe, which Jehoshua also observed. Pray for them to convert to the religion of Jesus, Jehoshua, Yeshua. They need to become Jews in their hearts.
57. For Stan in NZ
Simcha ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.26.07)
Have you not read the referenced passage in its original language and context? Have you not read the prophet Isaiah, chapter 41:8 " But you, ISRAEL, are My SERVANT, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend." Or Isaiah 44:1 "Yet hear now, O JACOB My SERVANT, And Israel whom I have chosen." Or Isaiah 44:21 " Remember these, O Jacob, And ISRAEL, for you are My SERVANT; I have formed you, YOU are My SERVANT; O ISRAEL, you will not be forgotten by Me!" Or Isaiah 45:4 "For JACOB My SERVANT'S sake, And Israel My elect,..." Or Isaiah 49:3 "And He said to me, 'You are My SERVANT, O ISRAEL, In whom I will be glorified.' " Get the idea?? It goes on and on... ISRAEL is the "Suffering SERVANT." The idea that 'the rabbis' hide this passage from their constituency for fear they will recognize Yoshkie in it is ludicrous and a canard invented by xians like yourself. Face it. We know our scriptures better than you do and THIS is why we don't buy into your religion. Put very simply...you're just wrong.
58. Those US fundie "Christians"
Céline   (09.26.07)
are pestering people all over the world, particularly Africa and Latin America, where they mix their simplistic preaching with politics and money-making. Perhaps it is only fair that Israel takes its share of the burden ! On the other hand, if you boot them out, we shall fully understand.
59. 48-Be nice
CZ ,   USA   (09.26.07)
eisav sonei yisrael. Deal with it
60. rabbis know as much about evangelical Christians...
Tal ,   somewhere in the Hul   (09.26.07)
as I know about nuclear physics - nothing. They are the most isolated and most ignorant of all when it comes to the non-judaistic world. They literally don't know what they're talking about.
