We expect more of Israel and America because they are democracies. We do not expect much from third world African countries. Europe is right to put the pressure on Israel to act civilized. This shows that they consider Israel capable of this behavior. Third world African countries are not capable of this behavior, so we give them a pass.

If Bush were a tyrant, Iraq would be under control by now, just as it was under Saddam. Tyrants kill off the opposition in large enough numbers to break their resistance. Any tyrant in Bush's position would bomb and bomb until all resistance came to an end. At last we have two countries who are poles apart, and now people can see the difference between a democracy (Israel), and a despotic, or should i say despicable regime such as Myanmar. I'm not Jewish but have always been a supporter of Israel if for no other reason than the fact that Israel is the ONLY country in the world to have been founded on Classical Liberal ideas from the 19th century, ideas which put HUMANITY at the centre of a countries organisation as opposed to institutions and corporations. Contrast this with Myanmar which is run by a gang of vicious thugs whose only act of bravery is to harm and kill its own citizenry. Where do these Generals derive their self respect in order to continue with this oppression, and what principles do they use to justify their actions. In other words where is the honour in their actions. Well i've got a message for those monsters. You are not brave, you are not decent, you are not honourable.
