61. RICHARD,YOU NEED TO EDUCATE SCOTT#37
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.26.07)
Who is overwhelmed with stories and belief's which may be as a result of illiteracy or inborn hatred.I really dont know which one is it...........but he needs assistance,no doubt.
62. No problems, Brothers, we know you were pressured.
Gideon   (09.26.07)
63. #57 You've brought up an urgent need
R.Alkalai ,   USA   (09.26.07)
We need to get them out of there- and quickly. It is not only a matter of the violent and sadistic treatment that they suffer under the Persians, but Bush is going to level that country very, very soon. This is only the calm before the storm.
64. Ahmadinejad showed the whole world he is insane!
redmiike ,   tel aviv and london   (09.26.07)
Even the Iranians must be embarrassed by Ahmadinejad's speeches. He showed that he has been driven over the edge by religious fanaticism and needs to either be put down like a mad dog or institutionalized. Apart from his lunatic political and religious comments his one regarding homosexuals shows his primitiveness. If there are 5-6% homosexuals in one county then there is the same amount in every country. Whether they come out or not is another issue. To think of this lunatic with nuclear weapons - wow!
65. #25 Libneniyyeh in Canada.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (09.26.07)
I'm very pleased that you enjoy my posts, such a compliment "flowery prose" - my English has improved since I came to Israel but sadly, my Hebrew is rudementary. I take exception to your comment that I condemn "each & every feature of Arab and/or Islamic culture" - if that's the impression you have, it is mistaken. But considering that this is a forum regarding current events & that so many current events have to do with Arab and/or Islamic misbehavior, I can see how you might get this mistaken impression. Truth be told, I am no fan of Islam. I lived in an Arab Muslim country most of my life. My experience has left me with a bad impression, to put it mildly. And while the country I come from was nowhere near the hell that exists in Islamic Iran, it was sufficient to persuade me to leave. I suggest you read Post #9 who is far more eloquent than myself. Let me ask you how you manage to admire the Islamic system as practiced in Iran? Do you believe in freedom of religion? Do you believe in public executions? Of murdering homosexuals? How about stoning adulterers? How safe you must feel in Canada where your opinions will not land you in jail, where you won't be beaten to death for voicing your opinion. And why, may I ask, did you go to Canada? Surely, you can go to live in some Islamic paradise like Iran or even Saudi Arabia. Being a hated minority in a Muslim country is no joke - and it's a very stressful way to live. And as to my condemning every feature of Arab culture - I'm quite "oriental" myself. I very much have an "oriental esthetic" in the way I live, the way I eat, the music I listen to, etc. But I'm objective enough to appreciate the good & deplore the bad.
66. Only God is good.Man is evil.
Christian   (09.26.07)
Shame on Ahmadinejad for his incitation of violence against Israel and denial of the magnitude of the holocaust. Shame on those who despised him at Columbia University. If they always knew they were going to despise him why did they invite him to go there? When you invite someone to your house and that person accepts your invitation, you have the obligation and the duty to welcome him in well and with respect. If you don't like someone you don't invite him. Period. Make no mistake about it: I think that man is a lunatic but I would never receive him in that way and I would always remain silent even when he said all those lies about gays, the holocaust, etc. Don't think this is a war of good vs bad in the way politicians present it to the world. We in the west are using our killing machine to destroy people. I don't care if they say they are terrorists or "colateral damage" etc. Western civilians support killing machines with their taxes and passiveness just like arab, iraqi, palestinian, etc civilians support the terrorists by consenting their activities, giving money to "charities", etc, that turn out to be platforms to kill us here in the west. The point is simple and Jesus made it clear: Only God is good. Man is evil. Period. There is no "good side" or "good guys" in this war between Islam vs Christianity & Judaism ( Islam vs USA and the West + Israel ). Read the whole Bible and understand what's happening and what will happen here on earth and why it happens and will happen. Jesus is the Son of God. The Bible is God's Word.
67. Iranian Jews
Bill Landau, MD ,   Mexico city   (09.26.07)
All over again , jews , due to realistic reasons support this "petty, cruel dictator". We should all feel sorry for them. Let them seriously think about making aliya before all hell breaks loose. , And , I believe, it will!!!
68. #42-your comment was amusing indeed
Cameron ,   USA   (09.26.07)
Particularly when one notes that you're giving your land & birth-right to people just like him as fast as you can.
69. Terry
Libneniyyeh ,   Canada   (09.26.07)
You see how judgmental you are... For one, I am an educated female from Lebanon. Second, I came to Canada 3 years ago as a student to study for my PhD, not because I was oppressed or because I could not "voice my opinion." Thirdly, in response to your question of whether I admire the Islamic system practiced in Iran, my answer is no: I come from a secular society and prefer to live in a secular country where politics and religion are segregated. Religion for me is personal. Furthermore, however, I do not rush to condemn an entire people based on the practices of a few in power. People look at the ruling classes in certain Arab countries and assume that is what the people want, what they are satisfied with. But very little investigation or efforts at genuine understanding are made in order to approximate clashing perspectives. You say you have lived in a Muslim country; I don't know what sort of experiences left you with that negative impression, but I can guess. But there is something crucial few people see: the practices in Muslim countries are far from perfect, and often religious teachings are filtered through patriarchal norms and backwards cultural habits, along with a heavy dose of politicization. The result is what you see in a country like Iran. I could tell you and bring you all the proof you want to explain to you how and where the mistakes lie, starting from the interpretation of the religious text. You said in a previous post why not have a discussion about religion? How many people do you think will agree to that objectively and with open minds, without rushing to deplore and criticize? Very few. Anyways, peace.
70. Doesn't pass the smell test.
Laurence ,   Santa Ana, CA USA   (09.26.07)
I'm sure Morris Mottaned signed that statement under duress. It's not worth the paper it's printed on. Ahmadinejad is piece of vile garbage and should have been arrested as soon as he set foot upon US soil. And then beaten, severely.
71. The out of reality so call dumb professor.
francis smith ,   montreal canada   (09.26.07)
As a so call prof one would expect some kind of respect coming from him,but he is caught up with his racist attitude towards the people of iran.No matter why this university lack principles and the students lack the fundimentals ability to graduate with the essentials knowledge require.Shame on this indolent pig.
72. Iranian Jews are right; Bollinger showed disrespect
Steve ,   US   (09.26.07)
I find myself in agreement with these Iranian Jews. Bollinger appeared to be an illiberal, petty, disrespectful host. The Iranian genocidal mass-murderer appeared noble and gracious in contrast to the illiberal Bollinger whom former Mayor Ed Koch wrote this morning, is Jewish. This obviously played right into the genocidal mass-murderers hands; the notion that this is typical behavior a Jewish host displays toward his invited guest. What is worse, I do not believe Mr. Bollinger believes much of what he said in his introduction. Truth be known, he sympathizes with many of the actions Iran has taken in response to "Zionist" and American aggressions. Mayor Koch wrote: "Bollinger’s change of style was, I believe, to blunt the enormous criticism that ensued following Columbia’s invitation to Ahmadinejad to speak there. " I agree.
73. Marcel #40 is also right.
Steve ,   US   (09.26.07)
Still, I believe the Iranian president got a huge propaganda victory from Mr. Bollinger and Columbia University. His audience is largely in the Middle East as well as the uniformed here in the U.S. and in Europe. A great institution in America, Columbia University, dignified the genocidal monster. They gave him legitimacy. This will be Bollinger's legacy.
74. #65 terry
Marcel ,   Florida   (09.26.07)
I do like reading your TB's. Beware of too much praise. The danger is that it puffs up the corrupt flesh and we actually begin to believe we are special like so many politicians believe. Those who praise you may be the ones who set you up. Stay humble and don't become too perfect. The proud ones who looked down on Moses were all swallowed up into the lower earth. Too many well educated are so full of themselves and their wisdom and forgotten their Creator, God uses the imperfect and the weak and opposed the proud ones. Look at the proud followers of allah ,they actually have forgotten their history of defeat against israel and are now decieved into believeing they may win. They have been set to fall into the trap the Holy One of Israel has laid for them. Pride goes before destruction. Proverbs
75. Everything is well in any dictatorship, until it falls
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.26.07)
Typical of any dictatorship: everything is well, everybody is free, there is food on the table and people can say whatever they want. And don't forget "there are no homosexuals either". Until the dictatorship falls, that is. Then all the scum and terror that were the order of the day are revealed to the world and suddenly everybody asks "how is it we did not see that?". Nothing coming from Iran through channels filtered by the terror machine is credible or authentic. Check the forums of the exiled Iranians (Jews too) and you can hear a differrent story! Disregard this Iranian Jewish PR. This is a reflex generated by the terror of the thought of what that Mad Monkey will do to them when he comes back into his Zoo and reclaims his position as King of the Jungle.
76. Shame - Mighty Mouth Was Insulted
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (09.26.07)
As Ahmadinejad found out in New York, even in the West, rats are hated, He can hide behind his diplomatic immunity but he's still a rat.
77. #73 Marcel never said one word of what you said about him in
ur talk back. Who's ,   fooing who here?   (09.26.07)
78. Iranian Jews have been offered thousands of $to move to isra
Gisele ,   Beirut   (09.26.07)
But they refused . the offer was made by Jewish groups, they were offended and said we can not be bought and we call iran Home. (guardian paper ) thousands of Moroccan jews also live a very nice life in Casablanca , Rabat , Agadir , in Morocco . they have the best shops cars , and mansions , and even their beach houses are very nice . I have been there . they do visit israel to see friends and family .
79. if they said the opposite...
rob ,   usa   (09.26.07)
Because if Iranian Jews spoke out against Ahmadinejad, they'd be executed, just like Iranian gays.
80. #77: Didn't think Marcel's point needed further elaboratio
Steve   (09.26.07)
Marcel wrote: "They are Jew in name only and would betray Israel has quickly as Olmert, Sharon, Peres, Barak,Livni and Netanyahu have.. The Jews of Iran are a good example of what Israel is becoming. Fearful, faithless appeasers who bow to their enemies and surrender instead of boldly standing and resisting evil." I believe the Iranian Jews are right in that Bollinger showed disrespect to his Iranian Holocaust-denying guest. I have more contempt for Bollinger for inviting the Iranian president than I have for the Iranian president. Shame on Bollinger! Because I believe the Iranian Jews were right to accuse Bollinger of disrespect does not mean these Jews' motives were pure. Like Israel's government, these Jews are likely "fearful, faithless appeasers who bow to their enemies and surrender instead of boldly standing and resisting evil." This is Mr. Olmert and his colleagues. They are fearful, faithless appeasers who bow to their enemies and surrender instead of boldly standing and resisting evil."

(09.26.07)
freedom of speech goes both way habibi. bollinger didn't insuly your mon key more than your monkey insulted the usa and israel when it put their flags on the floor during an exhibit so that visitors can step on these flags. is that not an insult. bollinger, in my opinion may have been rude, but the monkey is so tempting, isn't he? so foolish and an imbecil that bollinger couldn't help it. most uneducated, imbecilic, stupid and unsophisticated bufoons are a pwerfect target for this rudeness. the monkey demands no respect. he doesn't deserve it considering he's absolutely irrelevant and considering he truly made an ass of himself. i was a student who participated and the concensus at the end what "what"? rambling on without sunstance is good for the mentally limited arab and persian steet, but completely useless in a thinking society.
82. I agree
m   (09.27.07)
He was invited and as a guest he should of been shown more respect. There is a time and place for everything. they shouldn't of invited him , if the motive was just to abuse and accuse
83. #25, did you think it was intelligent when he said...
Sam ,   NYC, USA   (09.27.07)
that Iran has no homosexuality? How about when he says that people who deny the Holocaust ought to be heard in the name of intellectual freedom? By that logic, one ought to entertain "academics" who claim that the 1979 Iranian revolution never occurred and that the shah is still in power. Does that make sense to you?
84. orchestrated? really?
tom ,   toronto, canada   (09.27.07)
85. #78 1 million Jews left Moslem Countries
Laila ,   Montreal, Canada   (09.27.07)
#78. One million Jews were forced to leave the Moslem countries between 1948 and 1967; Israel did not encourage us; the Arabs persecuted and robbed us. That's why we left. Only about 30,000 remain.
86. IT'S GREAT TO SEE ANTISEMITES LIKE NUMBER 71
HAL TRIPP ,   LA PAZ, BOLIVIA   (09.27.07)
THIS ANTISEMITE LIKE NUMBER 71 ARE LIKE THEM ALL, HE IS LUCKY TO LIVE IN A COUNTRY LIKE CANADA WHERE HE CAN SPEW HIS HATE,NO MATTER HOW MATTER 71'S WE WILL HAVE IN THIS WORLD ,ISRAEL WILL ALWAYS BE THERE,AM YISROEL CHAI
87. #78 - Gisele, Reality Check...
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (09.27.07)
Gisele, 97% of the Jews that lived in Morocco prior to 1948 fled Morocco with pretty much nothing but the shirts on their backs. That's somewhere between 235,000 and 260,000 people who were ethnically cleansed from a country they inhabited BEFORE the rise of Islam. Better yet, though, let's talk about the 5,000-20,000 Lebanese Jews who were ethnically cleansed between 1948 and 1967! I don't really expect you to give much to the discussion, seeing as freedom of the press is as much as a myth as it is in Syria (where my grandparents fled from, and yes, I'm a Jew!) and whatever Lebanese sources you can claim are tainted with the smell of a cover-up... Just so you know, the groups offering the Jews still in Iran thousands of dollars to flee consist largely of Iranian Jews that fled the regime themselves!!!! If things were as hunky-dory as the Ayatollah's spin machine would like the world to believe, wouldn't you think it would be the Jews still in Iran offering Persian Jewish expats thousands to return?
88. a lesson for him....
maria ,   usa   (09.27.07)
denying the holocaust, wants israel to wipe off the map.....does he really deserve respect.God of Israel used mr. bollinger to slap his face with insult.
89. you took the words
maria ,   usa   (09.27.07)
out of my mouth.they should not have invited him, if they're just going to disrespect him. maranatha, christian
90. gisele...
maria ,   usa   (09.27.07)
I read some books about the holocaust....some jews during that time didn't want to leave europe, they didn't believe hitler would kill them.some jews already warned them about what's going on,but still they didn't want to leave their property, business, they felt at home in europe.
