These are the friends we deserted and betrayed when we ran from Lebanon. I really am sorry.
2. a dream for Middle East
Isragirl   (09.28.07)
hopefully, one day this will be the picture of the future - border-free Middle East, just like Europe. All nations and religions living amongst each other, without fear or oppression. There will be issues, but no blood... Do you think 100 years will be enough?
3. THANK YOU!!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (09.28.07)
I appreciate your wanting to give in spite of the problems many people have with this idea. May you be blessed in all your endeavors.
4. Dont blame Israel, blame the coward Barak!
freejay ,   Israel   (09.28.07)
5. Hopefully 2nd generation will be happy
Laila ,   Montreal, Canada   (09.28.07)
It's always a lot tougher for the first generation. As a Jewish refugee from an Arab country my parents also had a hard time integrating. The 2nd generation hopefully will be happy. Nice gestures from these young people.
6. Same thing
Benny ,   NC   (09.28.07)
Well, you know the Druze and Bedouin are thinking similar things. Israel needs to protect and support its minority groups that want to contribute but feel they get nothing in return just a passport. Time is ticking away, 20% of Israel are Arabs. What are WE going to do about it? The status quo is obviously wrong. If Israel wants peace, then show it to their OWN people.
7. #2: Sorry - 5000 years hasn't been enough
Israel   (09.28.07)

9. I ARE VERY SORRY

every gentile who risks his or her life for jews, be it even a palestinian or a german is part of the jewish nation. its writen in our bible, they are part of us no matter what some jews may say. so i am very sory that some in israel betrayed your family it shouldnt be that way.
10. I'm sorry SLA!!!!!
eduard ,   denver   (09.29.07)
I still cringe at the thought of how Israel stabbed you guys in the back in 2000 with disgraceful coward barak!!!! I still can't believe how they did that to SLA!
11. We Love you - yea,yea,yea...
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (09.29.07)
12. Kids are Very Honourable
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (09.29.07)
Despite poor handling and treatment by certain bureaucrats not able to see the big picture, the kids of these families who helped us, are themselves having a positive and giving attitude. The government and others should take note and respect this greatly.
13. The ME is a complicated region. Israel must protect lives
William ,   USA   (10.01.07)
Whether Israel was wrong or correct vis-a-vis the SLA is questionable. Perhaps from the SLA point of view Israel was wrong. May be from the Israeli point of view Israel was right. It is a grey area. Regardless of the past, the former SLA fighters should not burden their kids with the unfortunate events forcing them to carry an emotional baggage. Life is not always fair and Israel is fundamentally a decent, good country trying to survive in a very difficult neighborhood, a neighborhood where most Arabs want to see the Jews dead. The former SLA members must show maturity. They will not do their kids a favor if they pass on their angry. They need to set their kids free of their feelings toward the Israeli state/government.. If their kids want to stay in Israel they need to advance, become a part of the Israeli society and be productive. If the the parents hinder their aspirations they will create a bunch of very unhappy and angry children who will blame everybody and everything and be as miserable as some former SLA members.
