For Ahmadinejad, Israeli and American radical left Israel was established in 1947 in the wake of the Holocaust. It denies the fact that there was continuous presence of Jews in the Holy Land since Biblical times, there is the Hebrew Bible such as Psalm 137 and many other spots demanding Jews to return to their country, the Jewish prayers that for centuries prayed "next year in Jerusalem", Medieval poetry and travel to the Holy Land, the immigration in early 1800 of Jews who established Petah Tiqva and others, the prosecution of Jews in Arab and Muslim states, the Jewish national Holidays such as Tisha Be'Av, Hannukah and Purim. The timeline of the Holocaust, while important, is not the only time line. It was a predicted outcome that political Zionism was worried about in 1904 but did not do enough to advance. Israel media, universities, libraries have enough material to suggest that Israel is a link in a historical chain of events that started 2000 years ago. Israel has her culture, her language and an established way of life. Israel desires peace but to achieve it Israel cannot and should not change her history. Rather, Israel should continue and develope her specific culture while trying to preserve a moral high ground.
