1. Rosenblum wrong. Individualism has triumphed over collective

need of state. Individualism breeds chaos in societies and breaks down family unit. The "me" generation of Israel will eventually lead to the destruction of the state.
2. Statistics

Where do they come up with 5% if the divorce rate here is much lower than Europe and the % of single women giving birth here is much lower? Also where are the African countries? They're not part of the world?

Thank you for putting it so succinctly, although I am sorry it wasn't just my own hallucination.

do something about the 50,000 abortions that take place in Israel each year, most of them Jewish babies. That is the real scandal. It's an act of bravery and compassion for a single woman to decide to raise a child on her own. It's difficult, it's expensive, and even in countries like Canada, there is not enough support from the state. She has to be mom and dad at the same time. Not an easy task. So give those women who decide to have children all the moral support you can. Don't judge them, just be grateful they decided to keep their babies instead of killing them. Visit Friends of Efrat, a wonderful organization that helps pregnant women, single or not, when they are having financial or emotional issues. http://www.friendsofefrat.org/
6. Very creepy irony suggested in #5
Israel   (10.02.07)
What happened to the fervent push for Jews to multiply? Only a grassroots effort exists to help Jewish girls with "un"wanted (though supposedly desperately needed) pregnancies? And somehow the government's solution is to pay the way for 100s of 1000s of Israel-hating divorcophiles to fake our numbers.
7. #6 - Israel
Michelle ,   Vancouver   (10.02.07)
That's the result of secular domination of government and institutions in Israel. They are all in favor of abortions. They criticize the Jews who have large familes and resent every shekel spent on helping them out, but they go to great effort and expense to import non-Jews into Israel. The result is that the country is unravelling. The national image that the government of Israel was promoting abroad through their consulates was that of a bikini-clad IDF soldier, not one of families working the land and worshipping G-d. And another irony is that they are making war on exactly those Jews who love children and the land. They are the persecuted minority in Israel.

9. single mothers

and there are the "single moms" that still live with their children's fathers although divorced for the social benefits that single moms get from municipalities and the national insurance institute
10. single mothers movement
NCZ ,   Czech Rep.   (10.03.07)
It may be hard for single mothers to raise children. But do you think it is good for children themselves? Single mother can NEVER substitute a father, no matter how much she tries to do so. It was not G-D's project, so it will not work. Single mothers raise only women who can't become mothers and men who have no idea about manhood. I can see that single mothers who do not have good relationships with men/husbands make friends of their daughters who later become very unhappy and missing REAL mums (not to speak about fathers). Since I made this personal experience with real people around me, I call single-mother-movement a plague. It has really strong destructive potential leading to disintegration of society from within.
11. 10 -Would you choose tearing a baby into pieces or having
Kate ,   USA   (10.03.07)
a fatherless baby? I don't think anyone is advocating a plague of single mothers, but to kill the babies in the name of convenience or the integrity of the family or morality is flawed thinking and a very inmoral set of values at best..
12. To Kate #11
Pumpkin Pie ,   USA   (10.04.07)
I don't see where #10 advocated tearing a baby into pieces. He/she simply pointed out the truth that raising fatherless children is less than ideal. Children are better off when raised in a home with a mother AND a father. In no way did the posting seem to imply that it's better to kill a baby instead of having it.

This is a phenomen that's the same in the whole developped world , in developped societies . What is the relation to abortion here ? Those women WANT to hold their babies , not to abort . Regarding abortion , what will be the life of an unwanted baby ? Can a mother love this baby in the same way as she would love a wanted one ? I don't think so Has a women to stay with a man she has no more love for ? What will be the consequences of disputes and shoutings between them , on the children ? Is it no better then for everyone to divorce ? I think it's better .
