1. This mean conference is a waist of time..
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (10.03.07)
2. Even Leftists agree disengagement didn't work
Canadian Otter   (10.03.07)
Livni said so at the UN. Minister Ben Elizer said the same thing recently. "Minister of National Infrastructure Binyamin Ben-Eliezer (Labor) said Wednesday that the unilateral withdrawal from Gaza was a mistake. Israel should not make unilateral moves in the future, he said. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/134133 Olmert, are you listening?
3. #1 We don't know the conference is a "waste of time."
Steve ,   US   (10.03.07)
Ehud Olmert seems to be playing down the importance and the signifance of this conference. I don't trust him. He's proven himself a skillful and adept politician. For all we know, he is playing down the sigificance of the conference only to pacify the right in Israel and abroad that opposes this.
4. #1 We don't know this.

5. Abbas' tactic so transparent - Will Olmert fall for it?
Canadian Otter   (10.03.07)
Abbas is asking for the moon. In addition to borders back to 1967 he wants a corridor AND the return to Israel of the Palestinian refugees. He knows that Israel can't accept millions of Arabs suddenly swarming all over Israel. The compromise? Abbas agrees that only a limited number of refugees can get back into Israel but he still gets the moon and more. Even a first grader would see through it.... But can Olmert?
6. The solution for a growing economy in Palestine
Canadian Otter   (10.03.07)
Hizbullah terrorist organization in Lebanon is reaping a bumper marijuana crop in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, according to the French news agency AFP. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/134146 The British Columbia (Canada) marijuana growers should be shaking fearing a new and ruthless competitor. Now you can legitimately ask Hizbullah, what are you smoking??? (For any of you who don't know, marijuana, which is still illegal in Canada, is the top cash crop in the province of BC at over $250 million per year.)
7. Hello Canadian Otter #2
Steve ,   US   (10.03.07)
Good to see you out there. You seem to be active on a few forums or news sites. Good for you!
8. Like watchin a ship sink slowly since Olmert tool office
Malcolm   (10.03.07)
And let's not forget the Mistress of Surrender, Livni, who takes all her cues from Big Sister Rice.
9. #7 Hi Steve!
Canadian Otter   (10.03.07)
Actually, there's another "Otter" out there, who lives in Virginia. He is a techie and also pro-Israel. And there's "Giant Otter", an Israeli blogger named Ari Rabin. It seems that our species is definitely on the side of Israel. We are all Otters for Israel ! :-) I don't post anywhere but here, the J Post and ocassionally on Arutz Sheva. I spend too much time at the computer already. It's time for a swim!

Big sister Rice has a boss. Do you know his name ?
11. Saying it clear
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (10.03.07)
Translation into clear language: Olmert is just saying, we want all the good land for our settlers, and we will be willing to give you an equal amount of desert land, okay? And Abbas, who just wants ANYTHING to settle the conflict, will say yes.
12. end goal? All jews driven into the sea! what? u forgot?

13. Zionist Forces Are Gathering Steam
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (10.03.07)
As Olmert gathers in his 'sukkah'-rather his hut of treachery-with Israel's lethal enemies, he should know that there are zionist forces aiming to stop him. He should also realize that even if he believes that our homeland is his to giveaway it is NOT. These declarations will be dangerously lethal for the world will believe that Israel has given up its title to the Jewish homeland. It will NOT go unanswered!
14. Captions for above picture of Abbas & Olmerde
Canadian Otter   (10.03.07)
Abbas: Where's the food? Olmerde: Not yet, my friend. We are serving you Israel first. Here's the map of Israel. Just point at what you'd like to have and we'll serve it to you on a platter. Anything you want, old buddy. Just ask. My house is your house. My land is your land.
15. rustic #10 Regarding President Bush
Steve ,   US   (10.03.07)
Don't you know Bush is our hero? So please mind your manners. Even though he is Rice's boss and she takes her marching orders from him and does not do or say anything without his permission, we must not implicate Bush in this sordid mess because he is the only one out there fighting the "terrorists." When you see people blame Rice and give Bush a pass, this is what is happening. We must not criticize Bush; for the greater good. We've got to let Bush condemn Israel for illegally occupying Palestinian land. We have to allow Bush room to condemn the Jews for humiliating innocent Palestinians. We've got to allow Bush room to demand Israel observe restraint after murderous terrorism and suicide bombings. It's for the greater good. Even if Israel is wiped off the face of the earth, please understand it's better to not attack Bush or the Republicans. I mean, do you want the Democrats to run this country?! Get with the program. Just like in the nineteen forties, look, Jews are expendable. So what if a few thousand or few million Jews are murdered by the "terrorists!" So long as Bush and the Republicans are at the helm it's better for America as well as the Jews in the long run.
16.  Abbas loves this crap, he'll negotiate for rest of his life
dl ,   usa   (10.04.07)
17. Abbas is soweak and falls in every trap
Feras ,   Ejerusalem Palestine   (10.03.07)
Israel will not give anything after the high visible conference...they just want to let the conf go as Bush is leaving anyway and then say to the weak palestinians this is only what you will get.... there is no peace coming and israel think it is smart...but what will end up happening is a one state solution as we can no longer have our state.
18. # 11
Sagi ,   Israel   (10.04.07)
Crawl back into your hole.
19. #14 Very good Otter! I am impressed.
Steve ,   US   (10.04.07)
20. #17
(10.04.07)
you will never have a one state solution anytime or ever. however, you may have yout own state side by side with us, which, by the way, you have no clue of how to build and manage. it'll be a gaza number 2 in 6 months or less. once you have youtr own state, we are washing our hand off you
21. #15
Aunt Marmy ,   Washington D.C.   (10.04.07)
I thought he was Israel's moshiach who will save Israel and bring peace ? And this is why the religious ones of Israel are fearful to say anything negative about their handsome god ? Israel, It's his land ,no ? They give him a free pass to do as he pleases with his land ,Israel.
22. Yea Sure Been There Done That
ralphsrant1 ,   USA   (10.04.07)
OK wonder what type of agreements will be made on the side especially if Rice is doing the tour of the MidEast. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com/
23. The core issue
Sagi ,   Israel   (10.04.07)
is that the Arabs do not wish to coexist with anyone else, with other cultures and religions, and in the long term are convinced that it is the others who will be forced, by hook or by crook, to live with them, their way. This is the core issue. Could someone please explain how these two "leaders" will tackle this, the true core issue.
24. #3 - pacify the right in Israel ?
redmiike ,   tel aviv and london   (10.04.07)
Almost nobody in Israel or any place else believes that this conference is serious. Abbas is already talking about toadying up to Hamas. Shas won't allow changes in Jerusalem. Lieberman won't allow changes to the borders. Ehud Barak (Labor) wants to seal of fGaza. And there is broad consensus in the Knesset not to allow 'refugees' into Israel. What are the two sides going to talk about? The meaning of Succot ?
25. Redmike #24: You seem positive this will be a failure
Steve ,   US   (10.04.07)
I hope you are right. I would like nothing more than to see this thing in November fail. Will you be surety for its failure and guarantee its failure? As God is our witness, will you give your own life if it is a success? Many Jewish lives are at risk here if Bush and Rice are able to muscle through an agreement. Will you give life for life if Olmert caves in and a deal is signed which will establish a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria, Gaza, etc.?
26. This is an exact re-run of Oslo
Danny   (10.04.07)
Vague promises to each other. How long before one accuses the other of breaking promises? Here is a novel idea. Agree the deal up front, go to elections based on agreeing that deal. If the both sides agree we are done.
27. #19 Steve - Thank you!
