2. Again, this information dispels the notion...
Mike Jefferson ,   Washington, D.C.   (10.09.07)
that the Nazis were a few egregious individuals who "forced" the German populace to carry out their evil plans. Goldhagen methodically dismissed this fallacious concept which is still advanced by historians, in his landmark work, "Hitler's willing executioners". The facts are that a significant number of Germans not only tolerated the Nazi's ideals, but zealously and actively participated. These letters only serve to reaffirm this concept.
3. Cutting edge journalism
SimonB ,   Kfar Saba   (10.09.07)
The first sentence of the article:"The amount of fan mail sent to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler between the years 1925 and 1945 rivalled that of The Beatles" My question: How many fan letters did the Beatles receive between 1925 and 1945?
4. The Fuhrer "ferfuhrt" the Germans

7. #6, President Bush
Vicki ,   USA   (10.10.07)
Bush is snubbing out all the evil Hitlers in this world one by one. May God keep continuing to bless him and my great country.
8. #6- Indeed, O deft ones!
Cameron ,   USA   (10.10.07)
As soon as we are through saving you from yourselves & your ding-dong culture, you can write George Bush & us all the adoring, admiring letters you wish.
9. By the way...
Vicki ,   USA   (10.10.07)
The word "love" and "Hitler" should not be in the same sentence. This report and its heading was simply "in your face" and offensive jouranlism.
10. Germans put their hopes in Hitler
Damir ,   Russia   (10.10.07)
But he squandered them. In late twenties Germany was going through hard times. Hitler promised but never delivered.
11. HOW PREDICTABLE................................
AVROHOM BILGREI ,   ZION   (10.10.07)
HOW SHALLOW ! AGENDA DRIVEN TRIPE, SATURATED IN FINGER POINTING AND BLAME (I REFER TO THE COMMENTS) EVERYBODY IS IN A MAD RUSH TO ACCUSATION (EXCEPT # 3 LOL)! PERHAPS , IT WOULD ENRICH YOU ALL TO READ: THE PERIL OF OBEDIANCE BY STANLEY MILLGRAM THEN ASK YOURSELF: HOW WOULD I CONDUCT MYSELF IN THE SAME ENVIRNMENT ?
12. IT'S INTERESTING TO NOTE.....................
Avrohom Bilgrei ,   ZION   (10.10.07)
THAT THERE'S A RELATIONSHIP TO THE FERVER AND STREANGTH THAT EMINATES FROM ,AND THAT DEMANDS A LOYAL FOLLOWING WHEN AUTHENTIC PASSION IS WITNESSED ! DON'T EVEN THINK OF ASSAILING ME FOR VAUNTING HITLER (A CONTEMPORARY SATAN)-THAT'S NOT MY POINT ! WOULDN'T IT BE NICE TO SEE SOME TODAY ?
13. By the same logic, the popularity of the name Osama

after 911, dispels the notion that 'few misunderstanders of islam hijacked the 'Religion of Peace' and only a few extremists support terrorism and jihad. Works for me.
14. #6 Missed a chance to buy into US ports? Feel sore about it?

15. This generation has the advantage of hindsight.
John Beale ,   Alabama, U.S.A.   (10.11.07)
It is very easy to look at history and see what went wrong and when. It is not so easy to see evil or wrong when it is happening in the present. Hitler was an evil man driven by much hatred. Little by little he manipulated the peoples of Germany and those around him for his purposes. If the Germany of 1925 had the knowledge of what the Germany of 1942 would be, I sincerely doubt he would have received any letters of support at all.
16. Re 2 Again, this information dispels the notion...
Psalms 83 ,   Selah   (10.14.07)
You are quite right ....while stationed in Germany in1968 I had the occasion to visit Berchtesgaden, Germany ...the hotel clerk at the hotel I stayed at shared that most of the germans supprted hiltler right up until a few months before the end of the war...he also commited "you americans don't know what it is like to have bombs raining down on you."
