Justice in this country is a little weird. It should not be controversial that a prisoner, any prisoner, gets the rights the legal system has set fo him. And it is also acccepted that certain politicians are abve the law. Shouldn't the designers of Oslo be investigated to insure that they adhered to the law.? They certainly shouldn't be exempt. Olmert seems to be exempt. Sharon was. Peres is not only exempt, he grants exemption to murderers with blood on their hands.

That Ariel Zilber spoke out for treating Amir as all other criminals does not bother the left and other self haters. What bothers them is the fact that he may become a Bal Teshuva like Uri Zohar ;)

Actually, the only thing prisoners who commit murder do not have are "rights" nor are they deserved. This is the one thing that society can take away from an individual for committing horrendous acts. Regardless of who is killed, no one should go free for committing such acts. They are direct assaults on the state when it is a leader or political personage. Yitzchak Rabin had the right to express his views as the elected head of state without fear of assassination and whose rights were egregiously violated. I do not see anyone mourning over this point.

Based on presented video evidence, I have serious doubts that Amir was the murderer of PM Rabin. Does this mean that I support Rabins' assassination? No, of course not! Israelis found out today that 99.8% of criminal prosecutions are found guilty. That's staggering, especially in light of the continous suppression of corruption cases brought against our leaders. Although I am obviously on "the other side of the fence", I appreciate what you said and how you said it. I agree with you but not with the political maneuvering that led to the the release of the PA terrorists. I do not think Amir shuld be released. I also don't think the PA terrorists shuld be released, and for the same reason. I am shocked that political considerations and maneuvering can release murderers, Jewish or Arab, from jail. But why should considering Amir's release be reprehensible when releasing PA killers is considered a "Moral neccesity"? I think it is equally immoral. Which says a lot about the process and the politicians.

Releasing PA killers is NOT a "Moral neccesity". They are NOT being released for "moral reasons". They are released in the hope Israel will receive a benefit - ie an eventual peace treaty. Whether you believe this will happen doesn't matter. Yigal Amir, just like the palestinian terrorists, does not deserve any sympathy, nor to be released for moral reasons. Unfortunately for Amir - no valid reason exists or could exist to release him.
