1. Swatting At Flies & Accomplishing NOTHING!
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (10.25.07)
The cabinet decision is full of crap. It will do NOTHING to harm the enemy population, but will only lull the Israeli people into thinking something is being done. And THAT is precisely Barak's point. While the S'derot citizens and others are being terrorized NIGHT & DAY, the enemy is given a light slap on the wrist. Aside for many other reasons, surely this type of leadership is derelict in its duties to secure its citizens well being. They have GOT to be removed, and fast.
2. cutting off power:

a good first step.
3. Overall Israel Protects arabs In Gaza Better Than Sderot!
Yoni ,   Nahariya   (10.25.07)
In the insane world of Israeli politics and government the powers in charge would rather see Israeli citizens die than any supporters of Hamas. The sick logic of acquiescence to an enemy just shows the moral turpitude of Israel’s leaders. I honestly pray that decisions for the good of Israeli’s be implemented and the enemies of Zion pay with their lives.
4. it won't work if we're impatient
(10.25.07)
unfortunately, we always look for a quick fix, expecting one sweep move will stop qasams, just as we expect changing traffic laws or raising penalty for violating them to stop car accidents. and when we don't get the result we expected we revert the decision. the same will happen here. kasam launchers know this and will continue to fire kasams through their teeth if they have to in order for the israeli government to see this is a failed policy, but they shouldn't. if we hold on long enough eventually it will pay up. it won't stop the kasams completly, but it's a good first step.
5. For every rocket from Gaza should bring ten random rockets

Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (10.26.07)
To Rich: this is a waste of time, while Hamas gets stronger daily. (They now have Katyushas and Grads). The launches will continue unabated, further provoking israel's meager and ineffective, but COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT responses, which will be heard at the UN etc. The real responsibility must be with the governing body, Hamas., the onus on them. Israel should, like Turkey, threaten and carry out effective military measures, INCLUDING ANNEXING A BUFFER ZONE WITHIN THE Strip. Please no settlers allowed. Lets keep this thing strickly military. Cutting off utilities, will backfire, I'm sorry to say.
7. Gaza in darkness
chaim ,   miami beach USA   (10.26.07)
There can be no greater darkness then the one that is self imposed. Israel was saved from Barak in the Whey give away, while he was the PM not of anything he did or any of his magnanimous ill conceived dreams if implemented would have sunk Israel into s deeper nightmare, but by his savior was Yassir Arafat may his name rot Barak after each and every mass murder terrorist act made public pronouncements of the dire consequences to be suffered by the Palestinians, his words were never followed up by affirmative action. Arafat realizing his is dealing with a bloated hot air non entity believed he can push and get everything from the person he was dealing with. The Israeli public realizing the imminent irreversible danger they are facing did the only true way of showing their total rejection of the impending self blinded total surrender by Baark forced a change of Government. Now the starting point of any negotiations with the Terrorists is all the concessions from agreed to by Barak is not even considered to be revisited but any additional concessions that can be squeezed out of Israel. So inhabitance of all communities bordering a State declared Enemy Entity will never see a policy that just may have some influence in forcing the chosen by popular vote terrorists to even reduce their continual onslaught upon their communities by the bombastic utterances of a known politician that never acts upon his promises that can provide some protection to the Israeli citizens. Just don’t hold your breath, you will turn blue in the face before you will find protection from this elected leadership, just why does this government surround them selves with immoral, incompetent politicians is beyond reason and thus does not deserve the confidence of the Israeli electorate
8. Never Make Idle Threats
Christy ,   Boston, US   (10.25.07)
If a threat to cut-off electricity was made, it should be carried out if conditions were met. It's never good to make idle threats to an enemy. Makes you look weak & indecisive. After the electricity is cut-off, decide on some additional action that WILL stop the rockets.
9. they usually fire when..
chad   (10.26.07)
idf kills someone in gaza, it's pretty obvious
10. Partial Blackout won't work
ralphsrant1 ,   USA   (10.26.07)
If your going to have a blackout do a total blackout and don't worry what the US says. My elderly parents survived 3 weeks without electricity but by the end of the time they were desparate for the power to come back on. If you do it part way it won't work it will be laughable. A buffer zone is needed also. Short of a all out invasion what else can you do. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com/
