Absolutely agree. If being a citizen in Israel means putting in some time for the state for the majority, the minorities should as well as they too are part of the state. Otherwise, they are making themseleves "second class citizens". Druze, Christan et all. I would also add to the list the many Jews who avoid armed service. I think perhaps there should be one bill with Haredim, army dodgers, and non-Jews with a simple sentance, "If one exempts themselves from the army, they must do one year of service locally or nationally, of their choosing." That way, every citizen is equal, as a democracy should be.

Israelify yourselves for you already live in Israel. Therefore respect all the laws of this country, including army service. The least you can do for your own people is to tell them this truth and ask them respect ALL the laws of the country you live in, exactly as you and other colleagues of your party pretend that you do. Don't only pretend, start doing something constructive for your own people and society. If they say dont ISRAELIFY US then they obviously dont consider themselves Israelis. They are happy to take part in projects that foster the arab community but not things such as national service which is a body that exists to protect ALL Israelis jew and arab. Obviously if they feel that an arab who does national service will be considered a lepper then they are not interested in defending the Israeli people. Israel is the only country that would tolerate an organized group of traitors who would help to destroy the State if it could. With their radical representatives in the Knesset and this Palestinian leader declaring that they don't want to become a part of Israel and refuse to do anything to show their loyalty to the State, it is hard to imagine how ordinary Israelis would have anything to do with them. Maybe the best plan would be to have a vote of Arabs living in Israel (they don't want to be called Israeli Arabs) as to whether they want to become full citizens of Israel. If the Arabs vote against Israel, exchange Arab controlled towns and villages for the settlement blocs.

What the Arab leaders so-called complaint against nat'l service is really saying is: If our youth get involved with nat'l service and see how good Israeli life really is, their radical leaders won't have any more influence on them and then we'd really have a true peace.
