1. We're gonna do it, now we're not
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (10.29.07)
Why don't you all get together, make up your mind and tell us just what it is that you are or are not gonna do tomorrow or maybe the day after, and then get back to us.
2. A Nation of Little Girls
Marcel ,   Florida   (10.29.07)
The Sabra of Israel is long extinct. Israel has become a land of weak, wimpy spineless cowards who serve only foreign gods, especially the western eagle god.
3. blocking sanctions
amir ,   canada   (10.29.07)
OK, Mazuz, you can't authorize illegal sanctions. Fair enough. Russia would never have defeated Grermany if they had not resorted to brute illegal tactics.
4. It was not a good idea, anyway
Canadian Otter   (10.29.07)
Anyone could have predicted the outcry coming from the Israeli Left, the UN, and the usual critics of Israel. And it's naive to assume that Gazans are susceptible to hardship. Their well cultivated hardship-filled lives have been an excellent PR weapon directed against Israel. The Gazans could be suffering a thousand times more and they would still be launching kassams and shooting at the IDF. Nothing except imprisonment of the terrorists and disarmament of the area will stop them. Those behind the idea of disengagement probably knew what would come of it, but they had their own motives to push ahead. Those who back continuing with the disengagement now also know that it leads to a worsening of the situation, an ever increasing danger for all Israelis, not just those on the line of fire for kassams. The only real option now is to stop with half-measures and take back full control of Gaza.
5. What would Ban approve of against aggression?
Ken   (10.29.07)
Mazuz should better check with the UN before he signs on any decision from now on. Better still, just let the UN or the US take over the Israeli government, since Olmert hasn't done a thing FOR the Jews of Israel in a long time. The Israeli government seems to be a branch of the UN or the US more than the representative of the Israeli people.
6. Israel's laws make Nation small and intellectually inferior
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (10.29.07)
The Torah calls any nation that has viable laws a עַם-חָכָם וְנָבוֹן, הַגּוֹי הַגָּדוֹל הַזֶּה (A Great nation that is intellectually superior) (Dueteronomy 4:6). Maimonodes warns that if our laws are nonsensical we instead become the opposite, i.e., a small people that is intellectually retarded. When the law tells us that we MUST supply our enemy with the rocket fuel they need to shell our homes and kill our people we have indeed become a small retarded people.
7. But if we act nice to them....
Menachem Mazuz ,   Israel   (10.29.07)
then maybe they will like us...and we can all be friends.
8. MAZUZ IS A CRIMINAL. MAZUZ GO TO LIVE TO SDEROT MORON
(10.29.07)
9. Keep the lawyers and courts out of our defense!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.29.07)
They are helping the enemy with their "law".
10. WHO THE HELL IS.................................
Avrohom Bilgrei ,   ZION   (10.29.07)
RUNNING THIS COUNTRY MAZUZ ? WHO THE HELL VOTED FOR HIM ? THIS IS A JOKE NO ? IS THERE NO BOTTOM TO THE PIT OF INTELLECTUAL DEPRAVITY ?
11. RIGHT ON MARCEL NR 2
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (10.29.07)
Indeed this country's leaders if you can call them that way are of their frikking heads. Like nr 10 wrote who the hell voted for mazuz, that he now can dictate policy. I am afraid that only when our blood will run in the streets, these wimps might wake up. The Sabra is long gone, one just has to read wYnenet to see how distorted they have become. We are realy screwed here.
12. Extreme Left and Peace Now ANTI JEWS PRO ARABS got their way
(10.29.07)
again and because of their Jewish hatred and selfishness the Jews in Sderot and Ashkelon must continue to suffer. A government with ministers all having AntiState Cancer
13. Observing Mazuz, we think:
Ingvar Karlsen ,   Rio, Brazil   (10.30.07)
This man can be considered a little insane. But what is more insane is that man is in condition to cause damage to countless israeli citizens.
14. Let Mazuz, the supreme court and pace now live in Sderot
b.moskowitz ,   chashmonaim, Israel   (10.30.07)
for two months. Maybe then they will see enough proof and who knows maybe the pals will get lucky.
15. Out of 2X4s? Try something else.
Gideon Reader   (10.30.07)
I fully agree with AG Mazuz.(dumb as a doorpost?) Cutting off power is NOT the way to go. It demonizes & endangers innocent civiliams, and would be generally ineffective. I suggest that instead the IDF make ALL of Gaza, and in particular the identifiable areas of HAMAS Command and Control, a FREE FIRE ZONE, applying a 24/7/365 dynamic application of HE and Anti personnel shellfire for effect. After a year or so's experimentation with this form of political dialog a review may be conducted to determine if cutting off their electricity is a better option. I personnaly vote for the Artty, followed by close air support of attack helos. But thats just me.
16. Mazuz must be stopped
Frank Medioni ,   Canada   (10.30.07)
MKs should pass a law preventing the Attorney must General from judging Israel defensive actions. Moreover, claiming that "punitive" actions are illegal is ridiculous since war is basically a punitive action.
17. well, we certainly don't want to hurt the "palis," do we?
dante ,   uk   (10.29.07)
the people that gleefully support attacks on Israel, that want to destroy Israel, that elected a terrorist government. but, the great mazuz does not want to hurt the civilian population. mazuz is another hollow man who has demonstrated greater solicitude for the enemy than the people for whom he purportedly works.
18. How much more "solid" is a rocket
(10.30.07)
slamming into your house??
19. Israel has like olmert become the clown of the Middle East
zionist forever   (10.30.07)
Today all Israels enemies rather than fear Israel like they once did today they laugh see the country that doesnt take any kind of hardline policy seriously and they can get anything they like of as long as they smile and be polite. When is Mazuz going to rule that the daily rocket attacks against the people of Sderot are illigal? Economic sanctions mean nothing there have been INTRERNATONAL economic sanctions for going on for nearly 2 years now and it hasnt stopped anything all that happens is the palestians have alittle less cash to spare. Cutting the amount of electricty and gas Israel supplies ( not something its obligated to do under international law ) but Israel supplies all this to an enemy entity but the pathetic fools say its illigal to cut this. Who the hell is in charge here Mazuz following the palestian and left wing policy of not aprooving any laws that hurt palestian terrorists or government policy?
20. mazuz = OUR SECRET WEAPON
ismail haniyeh ,   gaza strip   (10.30.07)
and olmert fudd too ! ssshh................ don't tell nobody
21. Israel Should End Gaza Occupation Completely
Mr. Knowitall ,   Frostbite Falls, MN   (10.30.07)
Anyone who thinks that when Israel removed the settlers from Gaza it ended its occupation of Gaza is woefully misled by Israeli propaganda. Even before the democratic elections in Gaza where the Palestinians had the unmitigated gall to overwhelmingly elect a political party who Israeli leaders didn't want to win, Israel continued its strangulation of Gaza by continuing the occupation by controlling the borders, airspace and access to the occupied West Bank. So what needs to happen now is for Israel to completely end its occupation of Gaza so its borders and airport can be re-opened and let the Gazan's live free of Israel's brutal and criminal oppression for the first time in 40+ years. When Israel removed its settlers one must also remember that it was Israel who refused to cease fire and continued to attack Palestinian political leaders, shell civilians on the beach and shoot innocent children, which eventually forced the Palestinian to retaliate in kind with Quassams, although other than minor cases of hysteria and shock, few Israeli have been hurt by the unguided rockets. So if you are going to restrict fuel sales, fine, but don’t continue to use your thuggish methods to deny the God given rights of the Palestinians simply because they had the never to be living on the land you intended to steal from them for yourselves.
22. Oh Cry For Me Argentina
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (10.30.07)
The once mighty Israe, the Israel of M.Dayan, B. Guron, M. Begin, G. Meir, is now the most wimpish country on the planet. Everyone, most especially the Arab, are laughing at Israel, while pocketing all that 92.00/barrel oil gelt. Israel makes mistakes after mistake. It should have FIRST checked with the liberal A.G. before approving the cut in 15% of gasoline for a few hrs after each Kassam attack (is one Kassam an attack?). I could have told you. When the EU, UN, Big 4, and everyone else wants your hide, what do you expect? This tactic was doomed at the onset. If Israel wants to win this war, it is going to have to believe it's in a war for it's very existence. So far, it's in denial. No country would allow thousands of rockets to be fired into it's territory (a la Lebanon and the Strip. When Hamas takes over the W. Bk, look for Israel to face rockets from all sides. and then some. Poor Israel, being played the fool again.
23. #2 Marcel
Ephraim ,   Diaspora   (10.30.07)
Once again Marcel, you set in your snug retreat in Florida calling names and critizing others. Is that what Jesus would do? I am not against you Marcel. I am on your side, but there is a way to approach others and the way you are doing it is not how Jesus would do it. I know you will come back and call me girl and weak etc., but you really really need to take note of the love Jesus showed for others. We don't have to criticize others for their failures, however, if we do, we should be willing to buy a plane ticket and go over and join the IDF and serve and set an example. If we are unwilling to do that, we should shut up. You bring reproach to the Name of Jesus by your hateful e-mails. I have read your blogs etc. and for the most part I agree with your take on what is happening in the world prophetically. But, you are not helping. Please for Jesus sake, reconsider the tone of your posts.
24. Mazuz did the right thing
A Watcher ,   Canada   (10.30.07)
I think Mazuz did the right thing you can charge a nation with the wrong doing of a small group
25. #21, Perfectly put! Thank you! At least someone has a brain
Alex ,   San Francisco, CA   (10.30.07)
around here...
26. I think most people are missing the point
David L.   (10.30.07)
The debate about the electricity cuts in Gaza is not about whether or not the population of Sderot are suffering, We all know they do. The debate is about how effective an moral the electricity cuts are. To most objective observers, it seems obvious that the electricity cuts will not harm the terrorists, but rather innocent civilians. In fact, it may well increase support for terrorism - if such a thing is possible in Gaza. But regardless of that, the point remains that those affected will be civilians, and, moreover, the most vulnerable of all civilians. It may well feel good to harm the "enemy" civilian population while the residents of Sderot are terrorized, but how effective and moral is that? For the effective part, obviously it won't be. For the moral part, one may well reply that the terrorists are not moral either, but then that would mean putting Israel in the same moral basket as the terrorists. My feeling is really that Olmert and his gang want to cut electricity because they don't want to fight directly terrorism.
27. Mazuz is worst than Pollard
HA ,   US   (10.30.07)
and this is the country that wants me to give it all up here in the US and make aliyah to a land of wimps and peacenik loving Volkswagen van driving hippies.
28. It smells of USA....
Yossi ,   San Diego   (10.30.07)
It must be the "master", "granddaddy", USA telling the submissive slaves, "friends" Israel something like this: "our interests in the region, are more important than yours, even if you're the one in the line of fire and not us...we know how to screw our best friend, we did it for ages to all our friends...it is friends that you push around, not enemies! My comment to Bush and Condi goes something like this: "with friends like you, who needs enemies!"
29. Attorney General of the PA?
ralphsrant1 ,   USA   (10.30.07)
When does a Attorney General have a say so in external security matters, and why does he have a say so in this anyway if we turn off power and fuel we don't occupy Gaza any more so why are we obligated to give them anything. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com/
30. Attorney General Nonsense
