2. And the real question is .....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.05.07)
What will we do about it? If your answer is go to the mall & shop .... If your answer is take a long vacation ...... If your answer is watch more television ..... If your answer is go to shul & pray .... Then we don't deserve a country & we should just contemplate leaving for greener pastures. Apathy kills.
3. Corrupt politicians need peoples votes
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (11.05.07)
in order to stay corrupt. As no other job in Israel permits corruption so easily, those MK`s need their chairs in the Knesseth. Voters shoud be aware of this and erase their hopes once and for all by insisting ona regional/personl voting reform.

6. Most Israelis believe the Govt is Corrupt
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya   (11.05.07)
They believe it because they KNOW it is true. The problem is that no one does anything about it and if any one ever bothers it takes so long clogged in legal beauocracy it tends to disappear in the annals of time
7. 5,Debra, you can make aliyah
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (11.05.07)
This is the best way to help Israel. If 1,000,000 U.S. Jews made aliyah then many of our problems could be solved. As for our corrupt politicians , they are no more corrupt than the U.S. senate and congress. You have politicians spending millions on a bridge in Alaska going nowhere, politicians engaged in sexual activity in public washrooms and politicians with thoudands of dollars in bribery money stashed in their freezers.
8. Judah #7. I appreciate your suggestions. I am coming to
debra ,   usa   (11.06.07)
israel for the first time in early 2008. if i fit in there and can manage, i hope to stay part of the year. i didn't mean that the usa wasn't as plagued by corrupt politicians as israel--what i was trying to get at was there some type of pressure jews in america could exert on olmert and his cronies to get them to put israelis first before themselves.
9. 8# Debra, great news, check out the Golan
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (11.06.07)

If a million American Jews made aliyah Israel would have to deal with integrating a million Jews who have little religious or nationalistic identity. Yes, they would be richer and better educated than both the average American and average Israeli. But they're also, for example, for more politically leftist/progressive than the average American or Israeli. I hate to play politics like this, but do you really want to give Meretz and Kadimah a million new knee-jerk voters with all they've failed to accomplish? Eli -- an aspiring oleh
