The foolish decision to cut the previous war short has emboldened Hezbollah, swollen their ranks, and alloweded them to arm like never before. The next encounter, as a result, will be much more difficult and bloody than it would have been to finish them off the first time. Relying on the U.N. was a complete disaster, and one can only hope that Israel takes the lesson to heart not just in relation to the U.N.'s "guarantee" of keeping Hezbollah away from the border, but also in relation to any inane hope that the U.N., or anyone else, will deal with the existential Iranian nuclear threat. I read the article. What makes you think that Hez has the right to defend Lebanon? Isn't that what the LAF is for? Israel has no intention of invading or attacking Lebanon at this point.
