1. more proof the UN is a pathetic anti Israel organisation
zionist forever   (11.08.07)
WOW The UN is taking an interest into the rockets fired at Israel .... what a shame they are only interested in the fact that the rocket was fired from a school. Dont worry if your in Sderot and the rocket lands at your front door the fact these rockets are being fired into Israel for the express ourpose of attepting to kill Israelis. We have in the past had rockets landing in the grounds of schools and kindergartens in Sderot but that doesnt interest the UN only the launch site.
2. UN's only redeeming quality - Ban replaced Anan

3. Gazaa incursions by IDF
chaim ,   miami beach usa   (11.09.07)
the reason given to justify using school grounds funded by the United Nations under the UNRWA for Palestine an archaic almost 60 old agency set up for only one purpose and that is to keep the flames of hate burning, is, it was empty during the period of perpetrating the terrorists acts and when Israel tries to stop acts of terror they speak to the personal there and that is considered Interrogations by Israeli forces, who, still frequently mount raids into Gaza to try to strike at Palestinian militants firing rockets at Israel. Which is not to destroy the UN funded terrorist safe haven so sad
4. Question to UNRWA:: Be frank, was this a first time event??
KMR ,   Middle East   (11.09.07)
5. Now we know the UN's priorities
Steve ,   UK   (11.09.07)
"The Secretary-General condemns this abuse of UN facilities, which is a serious violation of the UN's privileges and immunities" Not condemning the attacks. Oh no, that might upset other arab countries. Not condemning Hamas' threats or actions. Oh no, the Pals are just SOOOOO downtrodden and abused by mean old Israel, right? But damned if they aren't real quick to condemn Israel for trying to defend itself. "Abuse of UN facilities." How much more insulting could they be?? "And I think ... The powers in Gaza right now will try to do something." They know who the powers are, so it's a pretty fair assumption these worms will do what they always do when they don't get their way - resort to violence.
6. schools
colin   (11.09.07)
Again a lot of bullshit explanations and decrees by the U N and thier lies about the use of thier property. The U N is helping the hamas fire kassams at Israel and covers with the children as shields. The IAF will not fire at the children hence the kassam site at the school..Get the U N out of gaza and blow the place to smitireans.
7. It's about time
Evan ,   Israel   (11.09.07)
Strange- where are Carter and Tutu these days?
8. Yes!, Ban Ki-moon has to order investigation of
observer   (11.09.07)
the strict & complete evacuation of the UNRWA school because of an Israeli incursion into Gaza. The UN has to protect its school's kid from being abused by the aggressive Israeli incursion.
9. for palestinians, the worst case scenario for them here is..
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (11.09.07)
...more studies on the hopeless plight of the poor victims, an increase in international aid, and more resolutions condemning israel for driving helpless and frustrated terrorists to resort to this desperation. in other words, as enshrined in history, palestinians have nothing to lose and everything to gain by doing these things.
10. Ban Ki Moon must resign!
JPS ,   Efrat   (11.09.07)
How dare he question the Palestinians' legitimate right to resist the occupation by any means. He should immediately be replaced by a proper spineless knee-jerk reactionary will do the correct thing and condemn Israel for causing the militants to fire the rockets from the school.
11. #1 rocket lands at your front door?
observer   (11.09.07)
No, it's just warning shoot. If the IDF incursion does not stop, the rocket will enter your house without knocking on the door.
12. Schools Evacuated to The Forum to learn about WWII
observer   (11.09.07)
That is logical during military operation & even to learn about those incidents! http://www.theforumnorwich.co.uk/media-centre/media-release-library-2005/schools-evacuated-to-the-forum-to-learn-about-wwii.htm what is wrong with Israel?
13. Now if ...
Stan ,   JHB RSA   (11.09.07)
Now if Israel were to drop precision munitions on the terrorists while they were loading up the rockets (as they evidently could have done viz a vi the footage taken) suddenly it would be claimed that the school was packed with kids.
14. nice beach front property
observer   (11.09.07)
Gaza should be leveled. The people evicted. Then beautiful parks , villas, beaches and shopping mall set up to replace the current buildings. Then only screened and approved Palestinians be allowed back along with screened and approved Israelis. Force the integration of the society. Ban weaponry there and set up security check points to enforce it
15. #14 and this would be a great stike to Ban and alike morons
observer   (11.09.07)
who are against genocide and ethnic cleansing.
16. For those who like to vent
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (11.09.07)
You might note that this event and the UN Sec Gen's reaction have not been shown on any of the foreign TV Networks. Arab pressure again?
17. Reminds of last year when hizbolah attacked from UN base
Mike ,   Israel   (11.09.07)
18. The problem iswith the UNRWA
Jacov   (11.09.07)
This is a dysfunctional organization that needs to be rid of once and for all. The camps are nothing but a festering wound. It has been shown that the camps are a recruiting ground for terrorists. If that weren't enough, they got caught in the crossfire during the Lebanon War in the 80's. So, UNHCR should handle the "refugees", and if there must be camps, they should be put in a non-muslim, non arab country. The ultimate goal would be to move these people into other countries whee they can work and live a productive life. That way, there will be no camps and remove a good part of the problem. They cannot have right of return to Israel. That's it. They left their homes in '48, they made a statement that they didn't want to live here with us. So they need to face the consequence of that.
19. #17 Reminds also of UN's proof of untrue Israel's allegation
observer   (11.09.07)
The U.N. observers killed when an Israeli bomb hit their bunker in Lebanon Tuesday , July 26,2007 called an Israeli military liaison about 10 times in the six hours before they died to warn that aerial attacks were getting close to their position, a U.N. officer said. After each call, the Israeli officer promised to have the bombing stopped, an officer at the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) base in Noqoura said. Finally, an Israeli bomb exploded directly on the U.N. post near Khiyam, killing four U.N. observers from Austria, Finland, Canada and China, the U.N. officer said.
