1. More Proof That Checkpoints Stop Terrorists
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (11.11.07)
And that means lives saved. Pity the soldiers didn't arrest them.
2. We probably better Negotiate with Shabak rather than Levni
Kamal ,   Ramallah   (11.11.07)
NEVER PEACE WITH ZIONISTS !! NEVER... People like Israelis can never feel secured and so will never go into a real peace process. It's no surprise that you guys dont feel secured because you are nothing but a punch of thiefs.
3. Someone in IDF trying to sabotage talks?
Karen R ,   USA   (11.11.07)
This looks a little odd. Mr. Qureia had an open pass. What needed checking? Is it possible that some of the personnel at checkpoints are either ordered to or on their own initiative trying to create incidents?
4. With qassams daily there's still "hopeful negotiations"?
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (11.11.07)
These government meetings and negotiations with "the delegations of the Palestininians" and Livni, Olmert and Peres should be held in Sderot.
5. These "negotiators" should have been arrested and tried.
Avraham ,   NYC   (11.11.07)
6. reality of any agreement
chaim ,   miami beach usa   (11.11.07)
As I have commented many times before the reality of reaching any agreement between Israel and the Arabs is nil, as seemingly human errors or miscalculations by the Arabs will only produce a total collapse of any Arab hoped for raising the Palestinian colors in Jerusalem. These seemingly tragic mistakes will only become more frequent and produce more and more frustrations on all sides until even the seating down at the same table will not happen at the outset just as it happened at the Camp David Conference. Any person that feels that he has the power to change the future is delusional. Just watch nature follow the course set before it. To those that believe only GOD has that power, guess what Nature is also a creation of GOD and will follow the course set for it. This whole scenario reminds me of Men and Mice scurrying around, with no purpose and at the end having achieved nothing what-so-ever, Enjoy the ride, but make sure to stay on the sidelines with a thick impenetrable barrier in front of you.
7. THIS IS B.S. !
Avrohom Bilgrei ,   ZION   (11.11.07)
ONE PHONE CALL TO LIVNI AND CLEARANCE WOULD HAVE BEEN PROVIDED ! DID THE NEGOTIATOR PREFER AN INCIDENT OR,WAS LIVNI TOO INEPT ? THAT'S THE REAL STORY ! HOW 'BOUT REPORTING IT ?!!!
8. amasing
the syrian   (11.11.07)
Livni has ordered a thorough investigation. The result is known. All her army will go to prison and maybe even her. They have all the same attitude.
9. more proof
ahmad ,   gaza,palestine   (11.12.07)
more proof that israelis dont want peace and they dont believe in it
10. thank you
mohammed ,   Ramallah palestine   (11.12.07)
Thank you Israel,
11. #9 - Your comment is so STUPID....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (11.12.07)
Instead of just calling Livni - he had to go crying home to make a big stink. That's what somebody who is interested in negotiations - and not cheap policital points in the media - does. There will be peace but it will be despite the likes of you. We in Israel know who wants peace and who doesn't. Look in the mirror and around that mess called Gaza and you will see who doesn't.
12. PA delegation detained.
Ramachandran Nair ,   Thiruvananthapuram,   (11.12.07)
Jews can humiliate any one. Be it Palestenion, American or Europian. that is their perogative.
13. Truly equal partners
Salameh ,   Gaza, Palestine   (11.12.07)
I wonder what those PA clawns think when they meet with the Israelis? they are equal partners engaged in serious negotiations?? the israelis know they can blackmail them with a VIP pass!! and they have the guts to come and tell us we will work out a just lasting peace agreements with israel??? whatever you say Erikat, Abed Rabbo and Querie, I won't trust you with my dinner hummos delivery let alone my future, get a life !!!
14. This is why we have problems
russel ,   Tlv   (11.12.07)
The IDF should not handle security. It should be handled by professsionals - not by kids out of high-school who know nothing about the world, politics, or even right from wrong. They act out of fear and or regulations. This is why we have friction.
15. #11-- I agree with you
Yasir ,   Canada   (11.12.07)
They just forget that the law in Israel applies to all Palestinians (equally) lol
16. I waited for 2 hours at a checkpoint
Jewish tourist ,   USA   (11.12.07)
At Ben-Gurion airport passport control. There were long lines of Haredi Jews, Jewish-American Zionists, European businesspeople, Christian pilgrims. Everybody had to wait and everyone was treated the same (RUDELY)
17. 25 mins only... lucky bastard!
(11.12.07)
18. to Rusel number 14 - "right from wrong" ???!!???
Moshe ,   Beit Shemesh, Israel   (11.12.07)
you have HUTZPAH !!! your fancy leftists who left us over 1,500 Jews murdered for your delusional Oslo fantasies know "right from wrong"???? In 1993 you were W-A-R-N-E-D what would happen by arming arch-terrorist Arafat and you PERISTED - you "know" right from wrong ???!!!??? You've got NERVE preaching to the 18 year old kids who risk their lives (more than Olmert's kids !!!) for NO money (unlike the Kadima Krooks) - kids who prevent terrorist attacks by risking their lives !!!!!!
19. Stopping entry and exit
Richard ,   London UK   (11.12.07)
I read recently that the IDF prevented the palestinain football team (or some of its players) from leaving GAZA to play in an official FIFA football match. No wonder the Palestininas are agitated and angry if they suffer such pointless humiliation. Let them have freedom of movement, pull down the ghetto Israel has built for them.
20. Checkpoints
now ,   here   (11.12.07)
According to the World Bank, the combination of checkpoints, the separation barrier through the West Bank, and other closures – all of which greatly limit the movement of workers and goods – has caused the Palestinian people to suffer β€œone of the worst recessions in modern history,” with approximately 50% of the Palestinian population now living in poverty. Illness and malnutrition have risen with this economic devastation.
