4. A PETITION TO OFFICIALLY EXCOMMUNICATED NETUREI KARTA
LEE ,   NY, USA   (11.15.07)
The follow petition was composed by just about all the sects of our religion, including the Satmar sect which should in no be confused with NK. It has been in effect on the practical level as NK representatives have been thrown out of many public and private institutions and gathering places. To make it an official excommunication, as far as I understand, a majority of the jewish population needs to voice its desire to place them in a Cherem (excommunication). Please participate by signing the petition at the following link: http://www.petitiononline.com/Neturei/petition.html
5. Friedman not qualified to speak about Zionism or Judaism
meir elazar   (11.15.07)
6. Friedman would place himself on last train to death camp
David P. ,   Central Coast, USA   (11.15.07)
like the nazi's Jewish conspirators turning in their own people, assigning them evacuation numbers and train depot locations, then putting themselves on the last car to the death camps
7. R. Moshe Aryeh!
Dovy ,   Toronto   (11.15.07)
I can just see all the hysteria from the ZIonists, especially religious Zionists. They must be foaming at the mouth! Zionists have everything, and they just cannot stand to see Friedman! Amazing, no?
8. Friedman is at it again
Mario ,   Surfside Fl. U.S.A.   (11.15.07)
Lets wait for the T.V. apearance for any comment, even it is very sickening to look at this HASEIRIM !!! Mario
9. Meanwhile, Olmert is giving away most of Israel
SL ,   New York   (11.15.07)
While YNet and the other media distract us with stories of a disturbed man in hassidic garb, Olmert is finalizing plans to give away the water sources of Israel, major tracts of land, and to forcefully relocate over 100,000 Jews. Shockingly, the media is silent about this truly diabolical threat to the people of Israel. Who cares about this Neturei Karta nut? Let us turn our attention to a much more dangerous sell-out going on, on the eve of Annapolis.
10. friedman is satan.
(11.15.07)
11. "traditionally dressed Jewish man"
Sagi ,   Israel   (11.15.07)
Clown suits have nothing to do with Jewish tradition. This man Friedman also has nothing to do with Jewish tradition. He should be excommunicated. He and his followers can in no way be described as Jewish. They are an insult to the entire Jewish Nation.
12. Peace is possible in the M.E.
Adel ,   Bahrain   (11.15.07)
This is the alternative, negotiations and peace treaty between nations will bring prosperity and much of the development in the region. Let our children benefit the fruits of co operation.
13. A Fatwa....
Eyal ,   Tel Aviv   (11.15.07)
Or at least a pulsa denura should be placed on this creep. A Muslim would never dare turn against his own people like this...to bad we Jews are too charitable. Friedman literally endangers our lives with his behavior.
14. Loooooser.
Avraham ,   Netivot   (11.15.07)
Let him & his fellow traitors move in with Iamanutjob in Iran.
15. Um...
CZ ,   USA   (11.15.07)
The small white Tallis over the shoulders is hardly traditional
16. Oh those Ultra Ortahdox again
Simon ,   TA Israel   (11.15.07)
Oh those Ultra Orthadox at it again. So if its not enough that they live here, hate the state, dont serve in the army, live off our tax money. deny us our freedome and democracy and now they are getting cosy with those that seek to destroy us.
17. They are all gays
Obama ,   Washington DC   (11.15.07)
18. Bravo #9
(11.15.07)
Your friends is a creep dovy, but #9 is so right. Is this friedman sheretz from Manchester UK or (more suitable) Austria?
19. Interesting that there are Arabs wearing Shtreimel & Bekishe
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (11.15.07)
and carrying Jewish names. I wonder if their ancestors were Jewish.
20. #15 That white thing is a bleached kaffiya
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (11.15.07)
and quite traditional in the Arab world.
21. #16 They're as "ultra orthodox" as you are.
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (11.15.07)
Does dressing up in Jewish cloths make them automatically Jewish? Quite an easy way for Jewish conversion.
22. bar them forever from entrance to Israel
jack bauer   (11.15.07)
23. Simon TA , it's not those !
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.15.07)
First of all , it's not those ultra orthodox again . It's THIS ultra orthodox , this one only . Secondly , as they are not recognizing the state , and as far as i know , they DON'T take any shekel out of our pockets because of this .
24. Adel , Bahrain
charles ,   petach tikva IL   (11.15.07)
Who does'nt want peace ? We are only singing peace songs , sad to say , the other side not , only hate and murder songs . That's the problem .
25. I'm amused and confused by the
(11.15.07)
mentality of these NK people. I wonder what Ahmadinejad really thinks of them.
26. #4: R. Moshe Friedman is not part of neturei karta
abdullah ,   ashkenaz   (11.15.07)
1) R. Friedman is not part of NK, 2) only a handful of NK are extremists, 3) respected orthodox rabonim in past generations were also extreme on this issue and, 4) nonetheless, the extremists have apologized for recent activities and are very much restrained now. What would be the basis for 'excommunication' of NK given these facts? The ideology of neturei karta is hard to understand today, only b'cos it is rooted in past realities, when the early ashkenazi orthodox jewish communities first arrived in the land of yisroel joining earlier sfaradi orthodox communities and were living together with the indigenous arab population. Some of these jewish communities were bitterly opposed to zionism when it later arrived on the scene, b'cos it was mostly anti-orthodox judaism at the time (with secular, communist and even Hebrew chrstian components) and it went against the philosophy of the orthodox jewish pioneers, who were seeking to establish a holy community in the holy land and not political sovereignty. Why are religious Zionists, even haredim and hassidim, so offended given that they of all Jews know these facts?
27. The secular respect or ignore their peaceniks
abdullah ,   ashkenaz   (11.15.07)
.. so why are religious zionists so offended at the religious 'peaceniks', who are far less influential? Take for example, that according to the hebrew original of this article, the wiene yiddishe gemeinde has austracised R. Friedman and expelled his children from school. He was beaten up by a fellow hassid/haredi, a leading member of ZAKA no less, at a place of prayer, and so on. I doubt that secular jews would treat their political opponents in such a manner. For instance, a former isreali PM once wrote a letter to hitlar (yemah shmo), proposing an ideological and militray partnership between lehi and the Nazis (yemah shmam) during WW2, even when jews were being murdered. As far as I know, the secular and religious jewish world didn't ostracize him at the time or later when he becmae PM of the major rightwing isreali opposition party. But here is all this fuss from the religious camp about a dispossessed and ostracised hassidic jew who holds anti-zionist 'peacenik' views from a by-gone orthodox jewish era!! Some explanation is needed, no?
28. lolzzz he is not a yid
david ,   france   (11.15.07)
moshe ben Ahmadinejad he doesnt represent yidishkeit
29. 9-You are correct, why do we not worry about
Shiloh ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.15.07)
the real problems here in Israel. One fuzzy hatted guy is the least of our worries. Nov 27 is much more of a concern. What bothers me is the deafening silence by the 'religious' leaders. It is like we are sheep going to the slaughter again. If we loose the West Bank, unemployment here will skyrocket adding tens of thousands to the unemployment lines, secondly we will be at a signifigant disadvantage defense wise. This is insanity at best.
30. and with his kids...
dan ,   london   (11.15.07)
