To be in Israel is a joy! But in seeing it, as in most recent years past, is to witness the naturalness of soldiers policing everywhere. They are sharp and their eyes are keen in looking for troublemakers. Citizens eye the size and shape of bags that others carry, on the look out for something bomb-shaped or sized. That's a real price to pay for living in The Holy Land. Catholics do not make Israel "holy"; they are guests just as any others are. To expect special consideration because they consider themselves "holy" as in "holy Catholic Church" is of their own structure, and it is not accepted automatically by others. The leaders of Israel have first and foremost the responsibility to protect their citizenry, and if they fail to do this, they warrant a just criticism. Christian minorities need to worry about the overall safety of the Jews in their homeland; for when the nation is secure, then those Catholics are also secure. My advice to the Papal crowd is "just live with any inconvenience--at least you're living!"
