31. 20 Dorothy: I have seen religiously dressed people at Sheba
Rivkah   (11.21.07)
Medical Center WORKING on the Shabbat, visiting the sick, eating at tables of closed restaurants there with their own food or coffee or food bought at vending machines if they did not have a kitchen. I was staying at motels in Israel, so I ate from vending machines on the Sabbath at Sheba when I went to tell the guards for Ariel Sharon to tell him hello and I was praying for him in the lobby. His sons who visited him on other days did not visit on Shabbat, but I did. That meant a taxi driver had to work on Shabbat to take me there. If you go to Sheba Medical Center on Shabbat and look at the people coming out of the Apropo Hotel, you will see they are dressed in religious garments. There is a parade of them, ministering to the sick and praying for them and giving them holy wine to drink on Friday evening. They do that as volunteers as far as I know ON THE SHABBAT. Be thankful. Maybe one of those religious people you saw drinking coffee at a non-kosher restaurant had been up all night helping a sick friend. Maybe you should ask the person to become enlightened that what you see as odd may have a reasonable explanation.

do you think pistacio and oil are the only things we export....Saffron is the world's most expensive spice Iran is the world's top producer of the spice. It supplies more than 80 percent of the world's demand with a planjavascript: save() javascript: save()tation area of about 36,724 to 41,325 hectares and an annual production of 150 to 170 tons.Iran's saffron production has in the past decade been increasing steadily, most of which is exported overseas, mostly to the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Japan, Turkmenistan, France, Italy and even the US. The number of countries importing Iran's quality saffron is increasing, reported Persian daily Qods.

36. #17 English Guy - Bellicose Statements
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.21.07)
I suppose you don't listen to Ahmadinejad's speeches - but you think my statements are bellicose. You probably don't listen to the many, many Imams in mosques all over the world (including London) inciting violence against Jews. Of course not - you think those poor innocent Muslims are only kidding, right? They just say it for laughs. I don't know why I bother to reply since I'm sure it's a wasted effort. But, again, I'll say that I don't hate all Arabs or Muslims although I very much dislike their totalitarian religious ideology. And many of my ex-Muslim friends agree with me, by the way. For the last 4-5 years, the international community has been BS'ing around while Iran continues it's nuclear program. Instead of idiot sanctions on pistachio nuts, they could have stopped Iran with really tough sanctions regardless of the economic costs. Now, because of lack of action, especially by the UN & that moron El Baradei, military action is the only option remaining. Whether it actually happens, I really don't know. Maybe America will realize the danger, maybe not. Israel won't act with Olmert as PM - that putz can't even take action in Gaza. You perhaps think I'd be thrilled to see Iran bombed. In truth, I am deeply saddened at the prospect. But I am not so sad that it prevents me from realizing the necessity for action. In the end, better them than us.

They use a spoon to eat rice in Asia, not just chopsticks. Chopsticks on their own wouldn't be very functional, would they?
40. Israel demands US free Pollard!
Lila ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.21.07)
Any more demands from our master, the US? How about us demanding OUR MAN in the US?

Thanks for your attempts at a Mitzvah, but he doesn't interest me. But really, how does someone religious explain to himself why he's drinking cawfee at a place that is open 24/7 and makes a great pork steak?
44. better yet, why not ask turkey to stop buying them ???
jack bauer   (11.23.07)
or would that be out of line? the americans are pathetic, yes its true, but the rest of the world is even more pathetic then they are! what has rice accomplished since holding any office, let alone sec. of state? nothing ? she has done precisely what she intended on doing in the first place.... creating an even worse situation where enemies are an even greater threat! but that has always been the goal of the groups she belongs to. And they are heavily invested in arms and weapons technology. and arms races make boatloads of cash!
45. #34 thanks for the tip...I will plant 100 acres with saffron
jack bauer   (11.23.07)
next season....sorry its not much, but I will be aquiring more land soon.....so if it turns out to be quite profitable count on me to have 1000 acres planted soon enough.....In fact you can count on no iranian imports around here by the time I'm done expanding....as for the dates, sorry dude, I only purchase dates grown in california
46. #43 how does someone religious make a cappachino ?
jack bauer   (11.23.07)
by slathering pork grease all over the coffee machine? are you not allowed to drink water pulled out of the well on shabbat? if the person brewing the coffee is not religious what is the big deal? Cross contamination? I think you still wouldnt like it if it had no pork and served coffee to a religious person....you just want one more excuse to say that the religious are hypocrites....go ahead.....but doing that doesnt make you better then one of them in other words.....pulling down others, does not get you any higher on lifes ladder....it just crowds the rung you are stuck on
47. the pistachios are radio active, thats why

A truely observant Jew will not eat at place that is not observant of the Shabbat. Your lack of knowledge is showing.

just pop into my head, why not israel and the rest of the world will contnue buy goods from iran (supporting stability) but put the mony in a third party account that will be transmited to iran when they stop being a destabelizaing force. think about it it will pressure iran to become a normal country. Need to go back to work..
