31. No. 10 Avrohom
NYC Girl   (11.26.07)
So true. In fact, many years ago there was a radio talk show host who was probably one of the smartest men in broadcasting. What he used to say was, "Some people use statistics like a drunk uses a lamp post. More for support than illumination."
32. 25 we all have a problem with the messenger AND the message
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (11.26.07)
because the messenger is self-righteous, arrogant, condescending, deceptive, contradicting, and just plain weird. and when the messenger claims that he is part of the message, need i say more? you man not like what people say about you, but deal with the message and not the messengers.
33. 32: "we all" are Christian and "goy immigrant" (2006.11.28)
Paqid 16 Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (11.26.07)
I don't think so. LOL My critics remain Christians, homosexuals and other misojudaics.
34. Secular vs Religious
Ziva ,   Israel   (11.26.07)
It's hard to believe that so many young people are not secular considering the way they dress. Girls with their stomach, backside, and breasts showing, and boys with piercing and tattoos all over their bodies. If the religious are really growing in numbers, it is because of their high birthrate.
35. #28 terrific as always
Naomi ,   PT   (11.26.07)
Well said and expressed. I wouldn't have been able to say this so effectively.
36. #34 Your description
Hilary ,   Israel   (11.26.07)
of secular females (un)dress code, describes secular teachers perfectly.
37. for heavan's sake, get an editor!
DAVID ,   new york usa   (11.26.07)
first the article says: 20% secular 47% traditional 33% religious then it says 27% secular 44% traditional 28% religious (using the same data) later it asserts that in 1974 there was a majority of secular jews (41%) -- well 41% is not a majority (perhaps a plurality) PLEASE HIRE AN EDITOR
38. Joseph P
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.26.07)
Blessed news ? a] nobody has forced anybody away from his roots [ exept the black 39/44 period were they were murdered ] b] i , a secular made Alyah in 2001 , this country is Historically mine . And i don't think to leave MY country . c] Yes many very religious Jews came here to die , others are buried here . But what do the vast majority of ultra orthodox contribute to this country ? Being poor is that a contribution ? Living from tsedaka is this contributing ?
39. 33 - "we all" includes lots of jews. unlike YOUR suppoerters
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (11.27.07)
99.99999% of jews in the world are critical, skeptical, and against you and your teachings, which puts them firmly on MY side. that's ME, the goy immigrant and not YOU, the goy immigrant. and, like it or not, christians and other goyyim are an institutionalized part of israel, hence the "we all". hardee har har. i see that you need to work on you honesty and integrity some more - you're still not there yet, by a longshot.
40. ALL THE POSTINGS OF SECULARISTS ARE JUST........
SETTHERECORDSTRAIGHT   (11.27.07)
THE LAST GASPS OF BREATH. THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T ACCEPT G-D ARE A DYING BREED.
41. To # 41 "set the records straight "
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.27.07)
How do you explain that only 62 % want a Jewish funeral , and amongst them many seculars ? No , we Jews who don't accept , as you say , god's words are not dying . Ashamed to give your name ?
42. #17 the endangered species
Debra ,   United Kingdom   (03.04.08)
The endangered species are the Jewish people as a whole. The secular may fight ,but it is the essence of Judaism that will enable them to keep the land with full justification. Both aspects are required, and the integrating power is the truth that is not merely confined to religous terminology.
