1. Prince Saud al-Faisal is 100% Correct
Lev Bronstein ,   Moscow, Russia   (11.27.07)
Prince Saud al-Faisal should openly state the intention to limit oil production by Arab states in order to pressure the US into forcing Israel to accept the Arab plan and withdrawing fully to its internationally recognized pre-1967 border. The Arab nations should also offer a carrot to the US for supporting the plan by offering to not sell their oil for EUROS, or any other currenc,y for a period of 10 years if the US forces Israel to withdraw fully to its internationally recognized pre-1967 border and accepts the Arab plan for peace. The US cannot afford to have its Petrol backed Dollar weakened any further as it teeters on a recession, so the Arab states can play hardball with the US as they can greatly influence the dollars stability, or lack there of.
2. You mean to say, will only shake that hand..
Micha   (11.27.07)
when the Jews have submitted to the arab will. Or, perhaps you mean when the Jews are bowing to the arab sheikhs in obeisance. The answer to both: No way in hell, and never! have a good day.
3. LAND
Jew   (11.27.07)
I think that 1967 is nothing, let’s go to the days of Roman Empire.
4. two numbers say it all about saud--9/11!
debra ,   usa   (11.27.07)
5. As Ariel Sharon said Israel is not wartime Czechoslovakia
Sam ,   Canada   (11.27.07)
Israel isn't about to withdraw to the 1967 borders unless most Israelis agree to it. International pressure when it comes to Israel's security is irrelevant. Those Arabs, Jew-haters and Jewish traitors who are hoping for foreign pressure on Israel to withdraw are engaging in wishful thinking.
6. I weep for you Israel!
Jack ,   San Diego, USA   (11.27.07)
Does Olmert and this so called Israeli government have no shame? No self-respect? What man on earth would subject himself, and for that matter what nation on earth will let itself be subjected by such a handful of corrupt, weak and pitiful leaders to this extent of humiliation? Lest Israelis forget that they are at that table as the victors not the conquered. Shame on you Olmert. I weep for you Israel!
7. Faisal just showed his intelligence (Part I)...
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (11.27.07)
"This is not a theatrical production. We are not coming to be photographed and to shake hands. We do not want to give people the wrong impression. The moment the hand opens for peace - we will shake it." The Israeli hand has been extended in peace since the end of the 1967 war, when the Golan, West Bank, Gaza and the Sinai were offered in exchange for Arab recognition of Israel's right to exist and peace agreements with Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt. The Arab response was "No recognition, no peace." "We were fearful of failure. For us, of course, and what the turn of events after a failure would be. We were anxious that the credibility of the United States is maintained. Undoubtedly, failure will increase the trend toward radicalism, and undoubtedly it will provide terrorists with further means of recruitment." How about an American failure in Iraq? How will this affect the credibility of the US? Why is Saudi Arabia sitting on its thumbs while the credibility of the US sinks lower and lower thanks to Shia insurgency in Iraq? "They have lived for the last 60 years basing their policy on force. Yet they are not closer to achieving peace or security than they have been in the past." Israel has lived for the last 60 years basing its policy on retaliating against unprovoked Arab aggression. Faisal wants us to forget the wars of 1948, 1967, 1973 and 2006, all of which began with acts of Arab aggression against Israel. Despite this, however, wars have become less frequent, treaties have been signed with Jordan and Egypt and terror attacks in Israel proper have dropped dramatically.
8. Faisal just showed his intelligence (Part II)...
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (11.27.07)
"It is time for them to try a different policy, a policy of accepting to live with the Palestinians and live in the neighborhood." While we don't know exactly who Faisal means with "they", the Jews have been living in the "neighborhood" at least 1600 years before a certain sicko named Muhammad started having hallucinations and perpetrating genocide. As regards living with the Palestinians, why should he expect the Israelis to live with the Palestinians when the Syrians, Lebanese, Jordanians and Egyptians refuse to, preferring instead to coop them up into concentration camps? "According to al-Faisal, he is participating in the conference in order to 'support Mahmoud Abbas, Syria, Lebanon and in order for them to get their territory back.'" Mahmoud Abbas/Fatah/PLO/the Palestinians never held territory to begin with; by what logic then, is Faisal there to get territory back for him/them? It looks like somebody spent his college years chasing girls and riding horses (or is it chasing horses and riding girls) instead of paying attention during history class...
9. What do you expect from racist, sexist, corrupt people
David ,   Boston, USA   (11.27.07)
The Sauds should go back to Arabia and wait to be destroyed, as they are the new Sodom and Gammorah. Nothing worth savings in Arabia.
10. Israel doesn't exist in the Arab World
guy ,   los angeles   (11.27.07)
We're decades away from peace---conference or no conference--The Saudi princes just want to keep hold of their kingdom and a picture of them shaking hands with Israelis won't help! A hand would only be extended if we all jumped into the sea---a hand that would wave us goodbye!
11. the world should pressure the saudis not to brutalize.....
jack bauer   (11.27.07)
gang rape victims, by sentencing them to being publically whipped, and then given 6 month prison sentences. All that while the perpatrators roam free unpunished..... they should allow women to drive cars.....as long as they are competent... they should allow women to carry their own passports without having to have their husbands permission.....they should allow people to practice their own religion, and not only the state sponsored demonic one... they should stop trying to line up all the arabic countries with the intention of harming Israel. And that with the help of the UN EU and USA A spade should be called a spade.
12. hand shake
chaim ,   miami beach usa   (11.27.07)
Just why is a handshake considered a sign of peace, that is to show the other person you have no hidden weapons in your hand, secret agendas of hate is also evident in a refusal to show peaceful intentions. But I think the pundits have it all wrong it was not the pedophile Saudi who champions the extreme repression of the female gender encourages girls of 9 years to be enslaved to old men which they refer to as being married and are subjected to severe beatings if they displease their so called husbands but are only rapists. The hand that actually shakes that human piece of Dreck only gets that Dreck on himself. Say it as it is
13. Peace Summit at Annapolis
Mel Fishman ,   Bowie, MD USA   (11.27.07)
Kudos to Joe in Los Angeles. You got it right. Even the Saudis (who have plenty of land mass) don't want the Palestineans in their country. Just check on the King of Jordan, who tossed them out before they could do their dirty work.
14. Saudi can go to HELL
Brod ,   USA   (11.27.07)
America and Israel can tell the Saudis to go to HELL. Saudi thugs attacked America on 9/11 and they have the temerity to tell America and Israel what to do. The fact is the Saudis are the chief sponsor of Islamist-Jihadist terrorisms around the world. America should demand billions of dollars in compensation from the Saudis for their attacks on America on 9/11. Meanwhile, America can tell the Saudis to drink their own oil. America does not need oil from a terrorist country. And the West MUST stop selling weaponry to the Saudis!!!
15. Hey Trotsky, #1
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (11.27.07)
Drinking vodka again, comrade? Keep on dreaming of weak dollar and strong rouble.... Arab hardball is as hard as your brain... There is two sides of the deal - oil needed only when it's consumed... How about - we don't give a damn about your oil? You can swim in it if you wish... We have plenty of our own reserves.. Hey, is you KGB kapo will stay in for the 3rd term?
16. #1 bronstein
(11.27.07)
tell me, if israel does indeed go to the pre 67 lines and the cummulative arab nations decide to try again the likes of the 6 days war...and cry for the jews annihilation...would israel be legitimate in capturing the west bank and gaza back? what would your country do, bronstein, if 22 arab nation, upon signing peace with you and creating another "terrorist" palestinian state, all of a sudden your country finds intself faced with more precise bombings from that state, more terror attacks and more violence, of course, supported by all those arab states. would you recommend your country sit and swollow their bombardment and terror? what would you do? because i can tell you that once this terror state is established, the palestinians and their arab compatriots will turn their faces around stick their tongues towards the usa and start a war against the israelis. what would you say then? would israel sit and die or have the right to capture those lands she gave away that used to serve her as a buffer for security.
17. Don't do as I say, do as I tell you
Talula ,   Israel   (11.27.07)
The 'hand that is extended in peace' as dictated by the Arabs? - who do they think they are? DELUSIONAL? I think so! ARROGANT? Most definitely!!!!
18. The Promised Land
Micha Ben Avraham ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.27.07)
There can be no peace for the Jews if they give away the Land the God returned to them in the Six Day War. God promised the Land to the Jewish people. They must respect that promise.
19. Craven Olmert begs to grovel at his feet
Ilan ,   Ariel   (11.27.07)
He'll have to undo Faisel's pants himself if he wants to kiss his tuchis. So much for national pride.
20. Saudi Arabia: Epicenter of Jihad.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.27.07)
A feudal monarchy which sponsers & finances global Islamic terrorism should not be talking about peace at any conference. The center of a totalitarian ideology of hate, violence, & repression has few lessons to offer the world.
21. Trotsky was a Bronstein.......figures
Talula ,   Israel   (11.27.07)
22. when 'that hand is extended in peace' ???
Psalms 83 ,   Selah   (11.27.07)
when 'that hand is extended in peace' Interpeted as ....when 'that hand is extended in surrender and agreement that Israel leaves the mid-east
23. in those days and at that time.....
Joel : 3 ,   Selah   (11.27.07)
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal and the rest of the nations need to read Joel 3 :1-3 it is the final resolution of this problem !
24. #21
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (11.27.07)
You're correct - Trotsy was his 'nom de guerre'(?) There was a saying in Russia - that revolution was made by people like Trotsky - however Barenshteyn's were punished for it... BTW - did you knwo that Trotsky great grandson made an aliyah years ago and lives (lived?) in Kiriyat Arba... Twist of faith...
25. U.S. Should Pressure Israel
NYC Girl   (11.27.07)
These Saudis really make my blood boil. It's just too bad that Bush doesn't have the cujones that Rudy did when he told Prince Alaweed to shove his $10 million check after the attacks on 9/11.
26. Soft Saudis
Petra ,   usa   (11.27.07)
What they can't win in war or debate, they try with Bush and oil to pressure Israel into a form of submission no other nation would consider. Would Bush give the Alamo back to Mexico? No way. The League of Nations parceled out land to all parties and the Saudis screamed bloody blue murder when accepting any land given to any Jew. The Saudis have Bush fighting Iraq for THEM. Americans are not pleased and soon, we will have another pres. who will hopefully, have more brains and less hand holding with foreign powers who control oil. When oil is no longer a factor, bye bye saudis bye bye all oil Arab oil nations. They can't fight their way out of a paper bag.
