1. Delusional thinking
Ron ,   Pennsylvania, USA   (11.28.07)
Israeli leaders need to be "brave enough to make...concessions" to obtain peace??? And whatever happened with the Gaza concession and uprooting of all the Jewish communities?? Did the Arabs respond by tending the greenhouses the Israelis had left? Or did they elect Hamas, a terrorist organization, to govern them and launch thousands of missiles at Sderot and the Negev? How many more terror victims do you need before you acknowledge that there will NEVER be peace. You need to give up your "Alice in Wonderland" philosophy and be a realist. Your Arab neighbors want no peace. They want you to be fish food in the Mediterranean!
2. ISRAELI RIGHTISTS: This process is inevitable
Chaim   (11.28.07)
You must realise, all of you, that this process is inevitable. It did not matter if the Prime Minister was Begin or Golda - both would have given back the Sinai, and it does not matter if the Prime Minister will be Olmert or Netanyahu, both will give back the occupied territories. You have been so naive, motivated for 40 years by a distorted religious ideology, that you cannot see the plain truth any more: This process is inevitable. It is insanity to believe that we can continue to occupy Gaza and the West Bank and East Jerusalem in spite of the consensus of the international community, in spite of the consensus of international law, and in spite of the national aspirations of the people living in these occupied lands. This has been a crazy dream from the start, and we must put an end to it, sooner rather than later, so as to avoid making this process even more peaceful. Yet you are so blinded by your fanaticism and your vision for "Eretz Yisrael" that, even this simple reality, you refuse to accept. Instead of recognizing that there is ultimately no other solution, you call for insane and unrealistic measures like "transfer." The time of transfers has come to an end. 60 years ago, 40 years ago, even 30 years ago, there were opportunities to transfer the Palestinians, but they were not seized. Today, the possibility of transfer is gone: it is no longer realistic. The settler movement was born in 1967, and it will die gradually upon the completion of this peace agreement imposed by the Americans. I, for one, am pleased that this chapter - this stain, this dark chapter of our history - is drawing to an end. I wish us all the best...
3. Move to Sderor Radoshitzky
Haim ,   New York   (11.28.07)
If she wants to see more blood instead of talk, Radoshitzky sould movo to Sderot instead of studing for her MA. Do something with your life- move to Sderot and then defend the peace with Arab/Saudis/Hamas/Egypt/Syria.
4. So, Michal Radoshitzky, you cannot surrender fast enough?
(11.28.07)
5. Irreconcilable Differences ...
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.28.07)
Are generally settled by military means. Painting pretty pictures of the soon-to-come utopian paradise will not change reality. All concessions are a mistake. All negotiations are a waste of time & effort. The reality is that peace is unattainable (unless we cease to exist). If we want Israel to be a better place, we should concentrate on domestic concerns & leave the Palestinians to the IDF. There is no political solution.
6. One step closer
Watchman ,   Finland   (11.28.07)
Whew, US State Department already lists Jerusalem separate from Israel (see page 32): http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/82081.pdf Abbas says: "We need East Jerusalem to be our capital and to establish open relations with western Jerusalem". Unfortunately, Hamas will eat his cherries, but still make war against the sc. "occupation". My friend Chris wrote well: "Abbas stated in his speech that the fate of the city of Jerusalem must be a critical component in any peace accord that will be reached. And at the centre of Jerusalem lies the Temple Mount. I don't think the Arabs will give that up without a fight. We know from Scripture that a deal will be made which will see Israel disengage from at least half the city of Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:2). For three and a half years, the Gentile nations will trample the Holy City underfoot (Revelation 11:2). Satan's goal is to hinder the Lord Jesus Christ's return to Jerusalem as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is seeking to set up his one world government, where he will be worshipped by all instead of God."
7. 22 arab embassies in western jerusalem
aaron ,   ra'anana   (11.28.07)
given the two options which do you think the majority of the world's arabs would choose 1) no israel. jerusalem is al-quds. all jews deported to poland, the USA or killed. 2) israel and palestine living side by side in peace with west jerusalem as the capital of israel and east jerusalem as the capital of palestine. i believe 99% of the world's arabs would choose #1. so how do you plan to convince them to accept #2 now that you have given away any and all leverage you once had the Geneva Initiative is the same old Neville Chamberlain inspired blind nonsense which has killed 1500 jews and at least 5000 palestinians since 1993. there's no peace in this peace plan. the destruction of israel sure, but no peace.
8. to #2. Zionism is the Jewish will overcoming the inevitable
Aaron ,   Ra'anana   (11.28.07)
Chaim all the best to you to it was inevitable that the jews would disappear after the destruction of the first temple 2600 years ago - yet we are still here it was inevitable that the jews would disappear after their exile by the romans after the bar kochba revolt - yet we are still here it was inevitable that 23 arab countries would defeat a tiny jewish state of only 600,000 inhabitants sometime the inevitable isn't so inevitable have a nice day ! Aaron

Richard ,   London UK   (11.28.07)
'the Geneva Initiative is the same old Neville Chamberlain inspired blind nonsense which has killed 1500 jews and at least 5000 palestinians since 1993. ' Actual figures are, since 2000 Palestinians killed by IDF. 4240 Palestinians killed by Israeli civilians. 41 Israeli Civilians killed by Palestinians: 233 Palestinian minors killed by isreali security forces: 860 Israeli minors killed by Palestinians: 39 Palestinians killed during the course of a 'targeted' killings: 367 Foreign Citizens killed by Israeli security forces: 10
10. Talk Less, Do More...Really??
Eli Freedman ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.28.07)
Where exactly is this woman studying?? Has she no shame? This is exactly the kind of delusional thinking that comes from our enlightened left....No Context of history, No grasp of facts that are happening on the ground!! She claims " Luckily for all stakeholders involved, the wheel did not need to be re-invented in Annapolis. The parameters outlined in previous negotiations form a firm foundation for any agreement" REALLY?? The Palestinians have broken EVERY agreement signed with them from the begining of this process and continue to incite hate in all levels of their society. They could have had a State years ago...."What we, the Israeli public, need to do is believe that peace with our neighbors is possible", We have BEEN trying to come to terms with them SINCE 48" and after 67", has she forgotten the three no's of Khartoum....What a bunch of revisionist history and memory lapse. This is not a question of "Land for Peace", the fact of the matter is, no matter what we do and how much we give, a Democratic JEWISH State is a blight on the Muslims mentality, its up to THEM to change THEIR mentality!! Its great to IGNORE the facts and spew nonsense..If this is the level of our "Experts", G-d help us!! NO Shame, NO Self Respect, Changing the FACTS to suit the argument....Lets see some concessions on THEIR side!!
11. settlements
Richard ,   London UK   (11.28.07)
Israel currently has 223 Jewish-only settlements and ‘outposts’ built on confiscated Palestinian land. Palestinians do not have any settlements on Israeli land. Apart from the 'illegality' of these settlements they are also Apartheid settlements as they are exclusive and serviced by segregated infrastructure.
12. Talk less, do more?
israeli ,   israel   (11.28.07)
I thought it was do less, live longer!
13. to 11 - settlements
Alex ,   USA   (11.28.07)
Why is that that Arabs and their sympathizers agree that that Palestinian state should be completely Jew-free? Does it not strike anyone as the most racist idea? Jews tolerate over a million Arabs in their mist - most of whom side squarely with Arafat and his gangs. Calling settlements illegal does not make them so. They are under Ottoman's land law that Israel inherited in the Judea and Samaria. There is no Palestinian land. Get your facts straight n00b. 90% of the Judea and Samaria land belonged to the state in the Ottoman empire. You do not hear Turks wanting any of it back.
14. Will their fanaticism be replaced by yours, #2?
Cameron ,   USA   (11.29.07)
Beware of your own naivete & yearnings.
15. the only city built by the Arabs in the Holy Land
israeli ,   israel   (11.29.07)
was Lydda/Lod. Other than set they occupied and settled in what was already there, mostly Jewish villages and towns. Even the names reflect that.
16. There is no alternative but peace !
Yuval ,   Tel Aviv   (11.30.07)
17. Annapolis
Ilana Stan ,   Bucharest, Romania   (12.03.07)
Do not surrender our sacred land to enemies! Ishmaelim have no right to Jerusalem or Yehuda ve Shomron!Annapolis summit is nothing but a filthy mess!
18. #10
John Winston ,   Sacramento, USA   (12.14.07)
A few facts need to be stated. The first is that land has been traded for peace in the case of Jordan and Egypt and that peace has not been broken. The second is that Israel has never stopped adding settlements - they create facts on the ground and those fact combined with the harrassment at the checkpoints and with the harrasssment of olive growers by settlers who are defended by the IDF has created an attitute in some Palestinians which is not conducive to peace and probably helped get HAMAS elected.
