The Arabs knows Israel well and they knew that there is no way with it .
2. Gillerman! You're the best Jew ever !!!
Kyle   (11.30.07)
Not that there are a lot of those... You stand up for the rest of us (Yidale cowards) who're afraid to say it out loud! We learned from decades of exile to stay quite and not retaliate, even in words. GOOD FOR YOU AND EVEN BETTER FOR US!
3. Palestinians have a state: it is under Jewish occupation

7. Gillerman is Brilliant!!!
David Hes ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.30.07)
This ambassador to the UN should look to running for PM of Israel. He is strong and forthright and brilliant.
8. The UN ..
Christy ,   Boston, US   (11.30.07)
lives in a state of fictitious reality. Also in a state of graft & corruption. Mr. Gillerman's remarks to the UN are good and sound. He speaks in the world of reality. It would be wonderful if some of the UN delegates actually paid attention to what he said.
9. Gillerman Speaks Truth to Power
GZLives   (11.30.07)
Israel needs more like Gillerman in these dark days.
10. That's it in a nutshell.
Don ,   Rock Branch, USA   (11.30.07)
Either the Arabs acknowledge Israel and learn to live with it or keep up a continuous attack on Israel, in which it always gets the worst of it. I pray that Israel stands firm and becomes the nation that it should be - a holy people, chosen by G-d, to grow and prosper in peace with their neighbors.

---------------------------------- The Jewish People have, for over 3,300 years, been a distinct people. We are bound together spiritually by our shared religion, emotionally by our shared history, linguistically by our shared language, ethnically by our shared ancestry, culturally by our shared traditions, and by our connection to our ancient homeland - Israel. For over two-thousands years, however, the Jewish nation has been dispersed and divided throughout the Earth, being unable to interact with each other or communicate effectively. However, due to the advent of the internet and other technology, we are today able to communicate instantly with others regardless of their geographical location. The intent of this website is to facilitate this communication and interaction by building up a large online Jewish community and thus to build stronger ties between Jews all over the world. Not only can this website serve as a means to build friendships and facilitate communication between Jews, but it can also serve as an avenue for the Jewish people to coordinate efforts on issues of mutual concern. As the online community grows, we will be able to work together towards fighting antisemitism, raising funds for Jewish causes, political activism, and many other important issues facing the Jewish People and the world today. We welcome and encourage Jews of all backgrounds, denominations, degrees of observance, and political leanings to join the community and contribute to our goal of building a stronger, more united Jewish nation. http://www.thejewishnation.net
12. DREAM ON!!
Bluto ,   Cincinnati, USA   (11.30.07)
The U.N. is a repository of third world tyrants, miscreants, and terrorist sponsors/sympathizers who hate both the U.S. and Israel for who and what we are and what we represent. No amount of graveling, cajoling, or reasoning with this crowd will change one mind any more than Chamberlin changed Hitler's. There's one language and one only they understand and it isn't the language of diplomacy. Both the U.S. and especially Israel need to return to the language of deterence and pre-emption; overwhelmingly and decisively. First you win the war; then you dictate the terms of surrender and not the other way around! May the Festival of Lights remind us of the need to redicate ourselves to the principles and actions of the Maccabees and may the Shield of Judah once again avail us against the raging foe! Am Yisrael Chai!
13. The Jewish State was recognized in 1948.
Rivkah   (11.30.07)
Non-recognition by some Moslem countries is a non-issue. The real issue is the error made in 1948 on the borders of Israel that put it in harm's way from neighboring enemies who have perpetually attacked and warred against the Jewish State. The border errors need to be corrected to protect Israel from such attacks or to minimize them if that is possible.
14. "Palestine" is the biggest fraud in the world's history!
PALESTINIANSAREAMYTH ,   USA   (11.30.07)
THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A PALESTINIAN COUNTRY, PEOPLE, LANGUAGE, SOCIETY, OR CULTURE! THE NAME PALESTINE IS ROMAN AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ARABS. JEWS WERE THE FIRST TO BE CALLED PALESTINIANS. "PALESTINIANS" WERE CREATED BY THE PLO. IT IS FACT THE ARABS WHO ARE OCCUPYING JEWISH LAND. ARABS BACK TO ARABIA!
15. Duhh, aren't they still refusing?
edd ,   london Uk   (11.30.07)
Gillerman is talking about the 60 year old refusal, and praising Annapolis - but the very arabs attending annapolis refused to recognize Israel as a Jewish state - or to shake hands with the israeli delegates. They want 3 new palestinian states - Gaza, west bank, and Israbia.
16. Full text of speech and link to video
Aussie Dave ,   Israel   (11.30.07)
You can read Dan Gillerman's entire speech here: http://www.israellycool.com/2007/11/30/gillerman-again/ Better yet, you can actually see the speech in its entirety at the link I included in the post.
17. Israeli mission to the UN and Dan Gillerman
Rachel ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.30.07)
With all the turmoil that precedes and follows any discussion of Israeli politics or government, Dan Gillerman remains the only shining star in the Israeli firmament. His measured and intelligent control of the Israeli mission to the UN shows that we are more serious about peace with our neighhbors than they are with us in return. Too bad we can't clone him and have a new PM.
18. TRUTH:: Arabs doesn't respect Palestinians !!
KMR ,   Middle East   (11.30.07)
..they use Palestinian issue to score points in International politics...
19. to #1
Zion Watchman ,   Switzerland   (11.30.07)
Well, the numerous wars the Arabs forced upon Israel with the intention to wipe it off the map prove that the Arabs are those who cannot be trusted. This is the real obstacle to mideast peace.
20. # 14 - "Palestinian" myth in a nutshell
Zionist Providence ,   Zion   (11.30.07)
Well put.
21. FICTITIOUS SENSE OF REALITY... HUH???
stude ham   (11.30.07)
will the oxymorons please stop multiplying? thank you. in any case... a very poor choice of words from ... oh right... another politico. couldn't expect better.
22. No. 14
NYC Girl   (11.30.07)
You're absolutely right, but a lot of the blame has to be laid at at the doorstep of the Israelis who have failed miserably in the propaganda war against the so-called Palestinians. In fact, all they had to do was continue to point out the fact that the murderous Yasser Arafat formed the Palestine Liberation Organization in l964, and since that was three years prior to the Six Day War and Israel's gaining control of the territories, one has to wonder exactly what the hell the Palestinians were aiming to liberate.
23. #1 and #3, you are a part of the problem!!!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (11.30.07)
Keep buying into the Arab and Muslim propoganda. It has been lying to you people for decades and causing nothing but pain for the palestinians. instead of vying for peace, you people call for war. Jews have always has a historic claim to the land and this is why the world decided to give them their home back. Palestinians rejected a two state solution in '48 and now they are reaping the rewards of their decision. Sorry, but you're wrong!!!
24. Gillerman describes reality Palestinians don't want to hear
Sam ,   Canada   (11.30.07)
The Palestinian first choice is to eliminate Israel. The demands of those Palestinians who would make peace as a second choice, are far too great for Israel. So, they continue on fighting feeling the support of Moslem countries and the West who think it is only fair Palestinians should have a state. (but are very naive of Palestinian demands). Gillerman, unlike many other diplomats, often describes things as they are. In this conflict many Arabs and Jews prefer their fantasies to hard reality.
25. Gillerman
Simon ,   Canada   (11.30.07)
At last! Gillerman is a bright light in an otherwise dark, outdated and backward body that has indeed been led by a clique of Arab States and their African cohorts in the creation of a whim. Bravo Mr Gillerman. I urge you to continue to bring the truth in a direct manner to those who have oblitered it from their mind.
26. #18 KMR - its not just respect
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (11.30.07)
The Arabs exhibit almost as much hatred for the Palestinians as they do the Jews. Talk about Apartheid.
27. Arab state of Palestine's problem was that it never existed
Dudu ,   Kfar Sava   (11.30.07)
And it is this fundamental lack of an historical existence that is the core of the current problems. The claims of a fabricated nonsense people are by definition, unrealizable.
28. Palestinianism not a national movement but a mafia
Jo Levine ,   MI, USA   (11.30.07)
that was created in the 1960's by an young Egyptian living in Kuwait. Sponsored initially initially by the Soviets & later by Saudis, the syndicate recruited refugees & Jordanians, spawning eventually a fascistic pseudo-people. However, i am sure that in the end, this so-called people will vanish like other phantoms before them.
29. The Arabs must make very painful concessions for real peace!
Uzi ,   Haifa   (11.30.07)
The Arabs of the Land of Israel consistently demonstrate that they don't want, can't make and won't maintain real peace. They do want, however, to weaken Israel by gaining territory without 'giving' anything tangible. They ignore that "possession is nine tenths of the law" and that it's rather the Arabs who should come forward and spell out what they offer Israel in return for what they want. They also pretend not to get it that in this case "land for peace" is both immoral and unworkable. The Arabs had used the 'territories' to threaten, pester and attack Israel before we took these territories in self defence. They continue to plan, prepare and perpetrate genocide against Israel and pretend not to see that it would be suicide for Israel to concede anything in response to their threats and aggressive action. The Arabs must realize that the only way toward peace is that rather they themselves should offer, accept and be convincingly satisfied with 'painful' compromises.
30. Equitable and practicable Partition Plan that may work:
Uzi ,   Haifa   (11.30.07)
Israel should let Hamas to depose Abbas and smash Fatah, also in Judea and Samaria, on their way to abolish the PA and wipe it off the world map and consciousness. Then Israel should get rid of Hamas. This will open the way for the Kingdom of Jordan to take charge as the only viable nation state of all the Arabs of Greater Palestine. Having got rid of the PA and Hamas, Israel and Jordan should agree on the border between them in Judea and Samaria and maybe cede Gaza to Egypt that would sort it out quite smartly. Everybody, Jews and Arabs, should continue to live in peace where they are and nobody should move from their homes or land. Israelis who would thus become residents of the Kingdom of Jordan should be given rights and conditions like the Arabs in Israel.
