31. #21 - Simon Mohammed... RELEVANCE?
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (12.04.07)
Simon Mohammed, before I devote my time and energy to describing the lifestyle of the Jewish people before the rise of Islam, please give me some more information as to why this background is relevant. As regarding the way I talk and "generalize" about a religion, the only reason why I happen to know so much about Islam is because my parents came from a Muslim country, Syria, before they were ethnically cleansed in the 1940's. Muslims stole everything they owned except for the shirts on their backs and each other. The nightmare of being "Ahl al-Dhimmi" was a daily occurrence for them. As regards "[making] the rule general to the religion/believe all togother", Dhimmi laws and "The Promise of the Rock and of the Tree" are integral to Islam itself. Islam demands Muslims to treat Jews and Christians as second-class citizens and to slaughter those who refuse to live as second-class citizens. This isn't just my opinion. It is based on the Qur'an, the Ahadith and the codification of these two sources into al-Sharia. It is just as much Islamic law as the requirement to wash yourself before prayer is. If you deny these violent aspects of Islam, you deny the Qur'an in its entirety. As regards using the argument of moral relavitity regarding Dhimmi laws, please keep in mind that it is no longer 600 CE and al-Sharia is just as brutal as it was over 1400 years ago. To compare it solely to treatment of religious minorities 1400 years ago is to ignore the horrors it continues to inflict upon religious minorities today. In response to your quote, "I think it is irresponsible from you to make that generalization as we all need to learn a lot," I think it is irresponsible to defend a political movement wrapped in the garb of religion whose overt aim is to commit genocide against the Jewish people. If all this is new to you, you certainly do have a lot to learn; seeing as the nightmare of Islam is something my community is only beginning to wake up from, my greatest wish is to forget the horror your faith has seared into our collective psyche.
32. My point, David from Boston
Zeal ,   Zionist America   (12.04.07)
Is that if this article which says “Arab racism must go” is hypocritical in that this recent quote which calls for ethnic cleansing (the word cleanse is in the quote) shows that Zionist (I will not say Jewish, unless this is how you choose to associate it) racism has not gone either. How could you claim Arab racism must go when this problem persists with you? Second, no you are not here first. This is a common misconception. Israel is not a state of Jews living within the land for centuries (like the Palestinians have); rather it is a nation of foreigners who want to, after 2000 years of waiting, fulfill a rather overdue claim that God gave them this land (even though the founders were socialist atheists). Check the prime ministers’ origins: Ben-Gurion (Poland), Levi Eshkol (Ukraine), Golda Meir (Ukraine), Yitzak Rabin (Ukraine), Menachem Begin (Poland), Yitzak Shamir (Poland), Shimon Peres (Poland), Benjamin Netanyahu (Lithuania) and so on; all of these are newly arrived foreigners, so you can’t say they were here first. As for the claim that Government politicians do not reflect such racism, yes they do; what do you think of Avigdor Lieberman, who Shimon Peres called a fascist? He’s the second most popular politician as of today. And yes: you Israelis are taught in schools (I’m not sure if this is accurate: I’ll check the source tomorrow): “Arabs only eat a few olives today and they stab you in the back”. Finally, note the following link to better understand racism taught to Israeli girls: http://planetquo.net/War%20Pigs/Dead%20Kids/2/israeli_girl_gift_01.jpg (Ynet post this message: enough randomly selecting comments and posting them)
33. What is the meaning of 'Generalizing'
Robert Tilden ,   Sheridan, WY   (12.04.07)
When one says 'Arabs are racist' and the responce is 'I hcan give an example of an instance when Arabs were not racist' (and its 900 years ago) that just proves how racist these people are. When the cirtisim of Israelis as racists falls back on examples of soccer fans - well show me soccer fans that are not racist. Someone should have slapped the Saudi representative for his actions To day 'Arabs are racist' is an understatement. A more exact description would also say 'chovanistic self rightious, pompus arogant, racist and lazy'. Makes 'racist' seem not so bad doesn't it?
34. Muslim racism can't go as long as mullahs exist !!
KMR ,   Middle East   (12.04.07)
or give capital punishment for mullahs who preach hatred in sermons around the world
35. To John #1. HAVE To Be Re-Educated.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (12.04.07)
You write :"Arabs don't even consider Jews as humans ". John, do you know why ? Let me take you to the Koran. In the Koran it is stated that the Arabs should NOT have sexual intercourse with animals. SO, John, this regulation from the Koran should give you a hint of the level of consciousness of the Arabs. THE consciousness of the Arabs are like the consciousness of animals. MEANING : because the Arabs think that they, i.e. the Arabs, ARE animals -- they think that everyone else, including the Jewish People, are animals. IN SHORT : one sees the world as he himself is. Is he himself an animal -- he sees the others ALSO as animals. SOLUTION : So, John, the Arabs HAVE to be re-educated -- that they, i.e. the Arabs, are NOT animals. UNLESS the Arabs are taught to think like human beings -- they, i.e. the Arabs, will never learn to SEE the others, including the Jewish People, as humans. BTW Prophet Mohammed descended specifically in the Arabian Desert to tell the Arabs that they, i.e. the Arabs, are NOT animals. But even after 1393 years the Arabs are STILL behaving like animals. THIS means that Prophet Mohammed will NOT be pleased with the Arabs.
36. Jordan and Saudi Arabia are Judenrein
Lemmings Hotline ,   sd usa   (12.04.07)
37. #6 - Marlene - were you ever there?
Steve ,   UK   (12.04.07)
When was the last time you saw Jews on an Arab country's parliament? When was the last time a Jew ran into an Arab market and blew himself up? "Humiliation and harassing." Shame on you, Marlene. A PA COP shot an innocent man for no reason. Torturing? Bah. Where's the soldiers THEY kidnapped? Sitting somewhere unharmed? No, I don't think so. And torturing how? By daily bombardments of their homes by common terrorists posing as a "displaced people"? By the constant presence of suicide bombers who want nothing more than to be martyr'd? No no, Marlene, it works both ways. There are racists everywhere, even in New York City, and every word you utter proves my point.
38. Arab racism, arab MKs, arab hypocracy
Steve ,   UK   (12.04.07)
Seems to me that having arab MKs in the decision making process for Israel is a lot like having mexicans in the US Congress voting on immigration control. They haven't, and will never, support the country they're elected to serve. Rather, they'll side with people and policies that favor the Arab over the Jew in all instances. They won't do any sort of national service, they won't even acknowlege the beginnings of the State of Israel - the country they're elected to represent. I've yet to hear of them speaking out against the terrorist attacks against women and children, or more recently, the PA swine who shot that driver. I don't hear them saying "We have to stop the qassams", nothing. But I wouldn't be surprised to hear them cheering every time another jew dies, and laughing while adding another number to the butcher's bill.
39. American thought after 9/11.............
NS ,   Long Island, NY   (12.04.07)
After 9/11, Americans began to investigate the societies in which the terrorists came from. What they discovered is the ugly little truth about the Middle East (with the exception of Israel); if you are a) not an Arab, b) not a Moslem and c) not a woman, then you are a 2nd, 3rd and 4th class citizen. So nothing surprises me about Israel's Arab neighbors. Yet I still believe in an accomodation between Israel and the Arab states (i.e. Egypt and Jordan) because it is in Israel's interest to do so.
40. #32; Pure Arab revisionist history crap. Palestine doesn't
Palestiniansareamyth ,   USA   (12.04.07)
There has never been a Palestinian country, people, language, culture or society. Israel was re-named Israel by the Romans and has no Arab connection. Jews were the first to be called Palestinians. Arabs stole the name and the history of the Jewish people and fabricated the "Palestinian" myth. Jews have always lived in Israel, the evidence proves it. The Jewish people who came after them are just returning to the land their ancestors were thrown out of. Jews are indigenous to Israel and Arabs are native to Arabia, where they should go back.
41. Zionist not Jews who they hate
Lou the Afrikaner ,   Tel Aviv   (12.04.07)
Buddy, you have no idea what are you talking about. Arabs hate zionists not jews, the same zionist that forced 700.000 palestinians out of their country in '48, that continue expropiating their lands in the WB or encircling them in a shamefull wall. Same zionist that occupied Lebanon during 20 years or continue holding Syrian Golan. You gotta remember Jews have lived in a quite a decent harmony in Arab countries, much better than in Europe. It was zionist who plotted against the Jewish community in Iraq in order to forced them to emmigrate to Israel or that desguised themselves as Haredim in Yemen to bring them to the Holy Landl when they needed cheap sefardim labour. And just one last thing, israeli statistcs show that more than six out of ten jews dont wanna live in the same building with an arab family. Plus Israel calls itself a Jewish State, an outdated form of ethnic nationalism. For many, just a straightforward way of racism.
42. #32
Richard ,   London UK   (12.04.07)
This is the honest truth: I was working in a jewish school last year in London (no women permitted in the school incidently) and I started chatting with some of the students during their break. The children were about 10 years old. I asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up? Some of them replied they wanted to join the IDF. I was a bit puzzled by this as we were in London and they were English so I asked them why they wanted to join the army. 'To kill Arabs' one of the kids replied. Why?,I asked. Because they are not good people and they all have nuclear weapons, was the reply. I then told the children that no Arab country has nuclear weapons. My coleague, who mentioned that his father was Pakistani (when asked) was not invited back to the school the following week. Coincidence? perhaps? And this was London, a multicultural, ethnically diverse city. I don't doubt there is Racism of equal ignorance and vileness preached to Muslim children, but this article states; ' Simply put, our enemies, among other things, are quite racist'. This sounds ridiculous in view of the fact that Israel has an Apartheid policy of dividing communities and denying one community the rights enjoyed by another.
43. #40, you've embraced Meir's famous lie
Zeal ,   Zionist America   (12.04.07)
Here is how this myth has been debunked: For well over 2000 years, the land was called Palestine and its inhabitants, the Palestinians, and by the rest of the world. Any search of textbooks published before Israel was established will reveal this very clearly. The issue of nationalism requires some comment. The Philistines settled in the land of Canaan around 1250 BC, establishing 5 kingdoms: Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Gath, and Ekron. It was from the Philistines that Palestine received its name. Since Roman times, this land has been known as Palestine. The Palestinians of today, Muslims and Christians, trace their descent to all the peoples who have lived on this land from the time of the Canaanites. Natives in Palestine (who happen to speak Arabic and hold religions such as Bahai, Christian, Muslim, Jewish) like all native people anywhere in the world. In their natural state over thousands of years, they identified themselves with their villages, tribes and languages but not necessarily a nation in the modern sense of the 20th century. Arab nationalism was bolstered to counteract Ottoman empire and Palestinian nationalism is part of the nationalism and development of new countries all over the previous colonial empires in Africa and Asia (witness Kenya or Tanzania or Nigeria, none of them had nationalism as seen today a hundred years ago). This was true for all natives regardless of religion they had. Of course if they traveled outside of Palestine, they were recognized and identified as Palestinian by their dress, accent (Palestinian accent is very different than say Arabic accent in Egypt or Lebanon or Jordan), and their own self identification. This is analogous to Irish people versus English. Arab Nationalism and Palestinian nationalism have books written on them. But whether people align themselves with local nationalism, pan-Arab nationalism, Islamism, Zionism, or communism, natives (regardless of their religion) of course do not lose their rights to continue to live and prosper in their own land and country. Enjoy. FREE PALESTINE! HARRURU FILASTEEN!!!
44. Arab and Jewish racism are both real
Pete ,   Amsterdam, Holland   (12.04.07)
While Arab racism can’t be denied, I must a bit irritated regarding the hypocritical connotation of this article. Arab racism exists, but anyone who has come in contact with the Jewish community knows that a large part the community is not entirely free of its own racist ideas. I have encountered this in many an instance, especially at work. Although honesty also commands me to say that I’ve seen the opposite as well. I would like to see a dual approach, regarding this matter, tackling not only goyim racism, but the racism toward non-Jews as well.
45. Nonsense! Most Jews I know exhibit a disturbing
Ellen Prescott ,   Southsea, Hampshire   (12.04.07)
level of animosity towards Arabs and White Europeans (but I won't discuss the latter group in this talkbalk). From Baruch Goldstein to Meir Kahane, the world has observed the catastrophic effects of the racism that exists among some elements of the Jewish community; certainly no community is immune from possessing racist sentiments. Notwithstanding, considering the world's minuscule Jewish population and the millions of people who suffer daily as a result of Jewish racial apartheid policies in Israel, one must deduce that racism is a very significant problem within the Jewish, and particularly Israeli-Jewish community, that is comparable to such widespread racist movements as National Socialist Germany or Apartheid South Africa. Arabs, conversely, are generally inclusive people who do not see the race of Jews, rather the despicable behaviour of certain Israelis, and in the case of North Africa, those Jews who colluded with occupying forces to secure their well-being while sabotaging the other native communities. At some point a level of responsibility has to be taken by the Jewish community.

48. Arab racism
Invicta ,   Europa   (12.04.07)
Arab Racism? No doubt, but it sounds a bit rich coming from a group of people who think they are 'chosen' and that the rest are 'Goyim', that segregate themselves through education and some can't even touch 'goyim' at the weekend because 'goyim' are unclean! And they create a country along clearly apartheid lines, ethnically cleanse it, boot out the original inhabitants and them call them racist!! Just read the talkbacks, calling Palestinians 'Palis' or 'Pals', calling Arabs ignorant, stupid and 'terrorists', dirty, thick etcetera, etcetera I have a question (and print this if you dare) you hate Arabs, fair enough, what why does everyone around the world hate you?
49. Arab Racism
Thomas ,   NH   (12.04.07)
There was a documntary on the Hajj on PBS, which followd the experiences of two Islamic converts. One South African black Muslim and a white convert from the US. It was interesting how at the encampment where the faithful spend the night before walking to Mecca how the tents were segregated. There was an area marked for non-Arab South Africans and one for "regular" South Africans. Take this and add to this the silence of the Arab League to the genocide of African Muslims in southern Sudan and concluding that the Arabs have a problem with race is definitely a fair one. That's not to say that all Arabsare racist. But this idea of Arab tolerance towrds minorities "until the Zionists showed up" is historically inaccurate to say the least. To the historical revisionist from the UK # 45, the Jews in North Africa sided with the French because the French gave them EQUAL rites. In other words, French rule meant not having to live under racist Apartheid-like Islamic dhimmi laws.

Thomas ,   NH   (12.04.07)
Certainly the Ba'hai in Israel know their origin is in Iran and not Canaan and that their prophet moved to Palestine in the late 1800s to escape persecution. As for the Arabs, they may try to connect themselves with the Canaanites but their claim is just that wihout any real proof. As for their being a unique Paleistinian dress, dialect and accent, you obviously know nothing about this. Sorry but your fantasies do not make for a sound refutation.
51. #45 - is that a joke?
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (12.04.07)
Where you joking? Did you even read what you wrote? How about adding 'most Brits I know have yellow teeth'? What a bigoted statement.
52. Ellen Prescott & # 51
Simon ,   London   (12.04.07)
Hi Robby, This is the usual diatribe from Ellen Prescott who is simply an English Anti-Semite, and just because she is an anti-semite it does not mean all English people are anti-semites. Not like dear Ellens logic where every Jew is a Baruch Goldstien and we make Atilla the Hun look a moderate.

#42: very fascinating Richard. Thank you for your post. #50: Your claim to "Israel" is fraudulent, or otherwise overdue. You claim God gave you this land, yet most of you are athiests. And yes, they do have a unique dialect and accent. I know it quite well and it is much different from the Syrian accent. Anyway, the fact that they have lived for centuries in Palestine supercedes the right of a Ukrainian or a Russian to the land of Palestine. That is common sense. FREE PALESTINE! HARURU FILASTIN!
55. The argument is about truth
Shiloh ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.04.07)
It's not about racism, its about truth. Truth is either the Torah, the New testament or the koran. It the Torah is false (and the land belongs to the goyim), and we are all to just get along, in a multi-national land, then by default the later books must be false as they base their "truth" on the Torah Truth (ignore the fact that both other versions highly redact the Torah). The fact is that the Jews own the land. Since the Torah is true as they both know (why would one base their new versions on a book that is false from the beginning?), then their idologies are false. There is the root of the hate and racism. Being the first book, is Truth, then the land, does belong to us, then and now. It seems that those opposed to it hate the Truth of their existance and can only lash out at us. In all reality, why do we give a hoot of what others think. We follow the Torah, end of the story. The rest of the world should do as it pleases as we don't care how you live, therefore you should not care how Jews live.
56. #42 If that happened
Robby ,   San Jose, CA   (12.04.07)
If it is true then it is wrong. I can tell you my children (Jewish) are not taught that. Based on your little blurb at the end I do doubt the veracity of your story.
57. #48 - how's THIS sound?
Steve ,   UK   (12.04.07)
When you have finite space to write in, Pal is just saving characters. Chill. As for "Chosen" people - read the bible. G-d chose us, and read also what we were chosen for. It isn't all beer and skittles. "Goyim" is simply a non-jew. It is singular for "Goy", which is a transliterated Hebrew word as "nation" or "people". Racist argument nullified. As for "unclean" and all that - that's a Sabbath thing, and it's also one sect of Judaism. Not all Jews subscribe to that. Racist argument nullified. (Besides - we don't refer to them as apes and pigs, do we.) As for your "apartheid" line please find another buzzword, that one is too worn. Read history. 3 times in the 20th century they were offered a State. 3 times they refused. The road is open for a 4th chance. They would rather bomb and kill than sue for peace; to do so would be to accept Jews in the area, something muslims and arabs do not want. Ethnic cleansing? Rubbish. If it were "cleansed", why is there still Hamas and Hezbollah? Instead of digesting the bullshit coming from the media apologists, why not try a radical NEW approach: THINKING FOR YOURSELF. If you did, you wouldn't have used the word "apartheid", not with Arabs sitting in the Israeli government; something "apartheid" wouldn't allow.

From Pontius Pilate to Amadenijad (sp?), the world has observed the catastrophic effects of the racism that exists among some elements of the Muslim community; certainly no community is immune from possessing racist sentiments. 60. To Zeal...
Ronald Gowings ,   Sydney, Australia   (12.04.07)
"Israel is not a state of Jews living within the land for centuries (like the Palestinians have)" 'Palestinians' were living in a state for centuries? Really? Who were its leaders? What was its capital? Because to me, it seens that, er, 'palestine' was just a geographic administrative region that belonged to one empire or another. "For well over 2000 years, the land was called Palestine and its inhabitants, the Palestinians, and by the rest of the world" And the name of a geographic region implies that there is an independant state or a distinct people why? "The issue of nationalism requires some comment. The Philistines settled in the land of Canaan around 1250 BC, establishing 5 kingdoms: Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Gath, and Ekron. It was from the Philistines that Palestine received its name" Actually, it was from the Romans conquering Judea and renaming it 'Syria Palestina' to attempt to sever the Jewish connection to the land. "The Palestinians of today, Muslims and Christians, trace their descent to all the peoples who have lived on this land from the time of the Canaanites." Strange. I thought the cannaanites were Aegean, while the palestinians are most certainly arabs.. "In their natural state over thousands of years, they identified themselves with their villages, tribes and languages but not necessarily a nation in the modern sense of the 20th century." Which is why given the lack of any national sovereignty, integrity, or even defined borders there was nothing illegal or immoral about the partition of the land and the creation of a Jewish state or the Jewish immigration that preceeded it, ergo any historical arguments as to the illegitimacy of Israel's origin are bunk. "Your claim to "Israel" is fraudulent, or otherwise overdue. You claim God gave you this land, yet most of you are athiests" Actually, our claim to Israel is based on Jewish land ownership, the partition of the land by the territorial sovereign at the time and our claim to land legitimately won in defensive wars that the arabs started. G-d promising us the land has been our incentive to come and reclaim it and as a basis for our moral imperative to do so. Fortunately for us, we don't need to cite it to demonstrate legitimate ownership. " And yes, they do have a unique dialect and accent" Woah there. A unique accent means there is a unique people deserving of a unique state? Damn, you better get to work dismantling most modern countries then. "FREE PALESTINE!" At that price, I'll take five.
