1. and what has peres ever acomplished?
jack bauer   (12.05.07)
the semi-retarded dove has only ever managed to weaken the country
2. Maybe we won't wake up ...
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.05.07)
Maybe we'll just be radioactive dust floating over the Mediterranean Sea. If America won't take military action as it now seems, than we had better do it alone & damn the consequences. This is an unacceptable risk.
3. AND IF PERES HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT
stude ham   (12.05.07)
One morning you'd wake up without any Israel cuz Peres would have given it all away as a good will gesture.
4. Nearly dead, wants to take us with him
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (12.05.07)
his dying defeated old man needs to start another war; killing makes him feel young again (not that Peres ever actually risked his own life, fighting). Knows how to murder Lebanese civilians however, from a distance.
5. Mr. Peres should have slapped Madeleine HALF-bright in the
Rivkah   (12.05.07)
face. When she was US SEC-STATE, she allowed 900,000 Tutsi Rwandans to be slaughtered in six weeks by Hutu Rwandans. She is a disgrace and like her, Ms. Rice will sell the Jews into slaughter by the Pals who are getting armored vehicles and weapons funded by Ms. Rice's ever so generous 400 million dollars to those who want all Jews dead. There's two Queen Jezebel's for you. To see if that is God's perspective, wait to see if they get eaten by dogs. If so, that will be a repeat of history. Ms. Rice will be utterly surprised at her exclusion from heaven one day.
6. One day Israel may be no more
John ,   London,Uk   (12.05.07)
If Iran gets its way, then Israel's end is very near. Experts say and Olmert has also admitted as much, that if goals set by President Bush at Annapolis are not achieved by December of 2009, then US will abandon Israel and Iran will then move to launch an all out strike on Israel will massive attack. Iran is already very busy army Hezbollah with better and longer range missiles that can hit Tel Aviv. This shows preparation for final war are underway. President Ahmadinejad has promised to wipe Israel off teh map, and so far he has kept all his promises. This should be more worrying to Israeli leaders than Iran's enrichment or cutting electricity to Hamas. This only makes things worse. Israel now urgently needs to makes friends with Hamas and Fatah. Israel should send its leaders to Tehran to negotiate peace with its long term enemies. It is no point only taking to your friends. You need to hold talks with your foes. Iran is getting more and more powerful by the day. Military action will only make Iran even more powerful just as 2006 war in Lebanon made Hezbollah more powerful than they were in 2005. Israel needs to wise up and stop useless scare tactics.
7. No to war
Steven ,   San Francisco   (12.05.07)
It's a dangerous world and it will always be a dangerous world. Israel will always have her enemies and will have to somehow learn to coexist with them. Weapons are so deadly these days that war makes no sense at all since it's all mutually assured destruction, mutually assured death, and mutually assured grief. Israel must continue to form a strong defense, have a capability to respond catastrophically if attacked, Israel's main goal these days must be to set about to build her country from the Jordan to the sea, not planning to attack Iran or any other country. Continued sanctions on Iran is the only real option if Israel wishes to continue to thrive.
8. #6 - NONSENSE IS NONSENSE - TURN OFF THE SPOUT!!!

9. Gimme a break
George W ,   Washington DC   (12.05.07)
"We are likely to wake up one morning and discover that comprehensive nuclear technology was passed on without interruption and is close to implementation." Yeah, whatever. Seems like the most likely scenario was that we were going to wake up one morning to find another war started for no good reason, and another terrible quagmire courtesy of our Dear Leader GWB. Thank God this estimate has smacked the attack dogs in the snout and backed them off a bit. It's really funny to watch Peres, Barak, Bush, and so forth beg everyone to ignore the proof that's right in front of our faces, and keep believing the evil Iranians are about to get us.
10. Warning of a Nuke Iran
Millie ,   Israel   (12.05.07)
Iran's full intention is to build a nuke weapon to be used to exploit the other Arab nations in the middle east to do its bidding ,which is to destroy Israel and overrun the western democracies and replace them with muslim governments ruled by mullahs! If Iran is allowed to continue along the path to nukes, Israel will not be the first nation to be threatened by it, the gulf states,Egypt, and Jordan, will be under threat too, then europe, and the Unites states, then who will the world turn to for help? The time to stand against Iran is now before it is too late! United we stand, divided we all fall!
11. Bogus 'Intelligence'
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (12.05.07)
The NIE report that shook the world is BOGUS! It was written by the National Intelligence Council chaired by Thomas Fingar, a State Department intelligence analyst with no known overseas experience, a fierce anti-Bush Administration career hack from the cabinet agency run by Condolezza Rice. Need I say more? Read about him at http://www.newsmax.com/timmerman/iran_nukes/2007/12/04/54359.html. Soon it will be revealed that the report vindicating Iran's claims that it suspended nuclear enrichment was in fact a product of the politicization of the State Department by career leftists installed in the Clinton Administration. Iran did suspend enrichment in 2003. That half of the NIE report is correct. Irans then-president, Mohammad Khatami, scared that continuation of nuke enrichment would give the US pretext to expand Shock and Awe to Iran smartly chose to suspend enrichment until the dust settled. What the NIE - with its politically inspired myopia - chose not to add was Iran's resumption of enrichment after the destruction of the Saddam regime. Now, deprived of the recourse to diplomacy in the form of further UN sanctions on Iran, this regrettable political document masquerading as 'intelligence' will have the unintended consequence of hastening the attack on Iran.

2. Maybe we won't wake up ... Terry , Eilat, Israel (12.05.07 Would Ahmadinejad & Iran really kill Palestinians and probably Jordanians and maybe even Egyptians and Southern Lebanese by setting off a Nuclear bomb because the nuclear fallout would most likely kill some of them if not all depending on the size???
13. Why does Israel keep barking?
Persian CAT   (12.05.07)
I have a feeling that Israel has realized, once more, that it is the biggest loser in this affair. The rulers of Zionistan must once and for all stop creating one threat after another to keep the Israelis scared, sheltered and under their thumbs. The American people have realized the Zionist jihadis are NOT their friends.

Actually, he is largely responsible for our ultimate deterent capability. He has however, since he got older, gotten a bit too poetic for my taste. But don't by any means think that he was always as he is now.
17. #2 GET A GRIP!
Humanitarian Jew ,   Netanya, Israel   (12.06.07)
What the nut are you on about you confused person. Its a shame views of this sort are allowed to be given coverage as these attitudes put Jews in great risk. The so called consequences of the "risks" you talk about (which incidentally have been shunned) are not only existential to Israel but catastrophic for world Jewry. You must seriously underestimate that a uniliteral strike by Israel on Iran would indeed result in us being turned into radioactive dust in the sea. Whats wrong with the jews today? Its as if they want Iran to be developing weapons just to strike them. We are never satisfied as a people and always preoccupied with fear. PERHAPS we should take 2000 years of bad experience by stopping alienating ourselves and dealing peacefully with our neighbours and stop being obsessed with insignificant things and concentrate on important policies. IRAN IS NOT A THREAT. IRAN IS 2000 MILES AWAY and has NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS! Iran has no desire to bomb Israel and if Israel desires to bomb Iran then God help us! WAKE UP ISRAEL! And another thing this teaches is that Israel cannot stick totaly by USA but have to seek friendship with all states especially close to home otherwise we are on our own and in for trouble!

Robert Mcgarrah ,   Hurst USA   (12.06.07)
I think the US is going to be right in the middle of the action with Israel. I just don't see it going any other way. If I were in my early 20s I'd be on my way over to join the ID. I think you have one of the finest Armys and Air Force in the world. Put the Us Navy in there and there would be no stopping us. Thanks Bob
19. What is going on?
jaded   (12.06.07)
My latest suspicion:This worlds leaders are creating a new reason for struggles in the ME.They want Israel to dismantle their asserted nuclear weapons. How can that be done? Are the answer negotiations with a nuclear Iran ?I believe the view of Israel having the bomb has kept Israel safe from an Arab storm.

You're kidding, right? I can't believe you're serious. I suggest you read about some of the religious beliefs associated with this regime.
