31. Racism? Not Exactly
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (12.09.07)
It would be racism if there were not reason upon reason being demonstrated that many Arabs are not to be trusted. 9/11 should have been a wake up call Israel is not to blame. Israeli attitudes are not to blame. Blame the real problem Arab terrorists have been bombing and killing throughout the world for the last 40 years. No it is not all Arabs but the voice of the real Arab moderate is almost NEVER heard. We only get "so called" moderates like Mubarek and Faisal. Is that the best the Arab population can do? Jews and Arabs once lived in peace. Now and for at least two more generations it will not be possible.
32. Quelle surprise!
Secular Eagle   (12.09.07)
We all know Israel is riddle with racism. And before Judeofascists and their dogsbodies start screaming about racism in Arab countries, let me say: WHO CARES!! Firstly, we should not be comparing ourselves to Arab countries, and secondly, two wrongs don't make a right anyway. I see the comments here are the usual parade of stupidity: (1) The study is a "conspiracy" by "traitors," and/or (2) Jewish racism is justified because of the Holocaust, the xyz war, the persecution of Jews in xyz, etc. Of course, much the same arguments were used in the Deep South during the Civil Rights movement era. American Jews then stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Africans Americans against the yoke of Caucasian, Xian tyranny. It seems today they'd sooner don white sheets themselves. I don't know what's worse: the scourge of racism corrupting our special country or the mother-effers who try to justify it. Goodness, if there's one nation on this planet that should fight tooth and nail against racism, it's ours. Very depressing.
33. And people wonder why there is antisemitism
paul ,   chicago   (12.09.07)

34. More left wing lies!
freejay ,   Israel   (12.09.07)
Its the arabs that are racist towards Israel and anyone not muslim. They are the biggest racists in the world! How many jews live in Arab countries, yet arabs are allowed to live in Israel. How many christians still live in Bethlehem? The Association for Civil Rights are a pack of hypocrits and YNet shouldnt be promoting these lies!
35. what we need.. is Sulha
a girl ,   tel aviv   (12.09.07)
now hearing all these american big and strong zionists talking about this subject it makes me laugh.. specially those ones that don't have a clue about day to day life in Israel.. and also those ones that do have a clue but ignore the arab presence in "our" jewish land or forget to treat people as humans.. there are good people and less good people both arabs and jews and we have extremists on both sides..of course we'd do much better without them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFgMH1TX1SY
36. What comes around goes around, Arabs
Steve ,   UK   (12.09.07)
You want the Jews dead, don't complain if we don't like you into the bargain.
37. Gee, I can't imagine why?
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.09.07)
Could it be because they hate us, are disloyal, support our enemies, their political leaders are traitors, their religious leaders preach hatred against us, that they contribute nothing to the defense of the country, they don't pay taxes in their municipalities, are involved in criminal activity more than any other group in the country, & that they have generally been hostile towards Jews for 1400 years? It's a two-way street - and all things considered, what is amazing is the LOW level of hostility towards them.
38. not racism, self-defense
israeli ,   israel   (12.09.07)
During the last year or two we have seen an amazing increase of violent acts perpetrated by the Arabs against the Jews - Israeli Arabs trying to kill Jews in intentional car accidents (even by means of camels released on Negev roads), Arabs raping Jewish girls and calling them dirty Jews, Israeli Arabs hurling stones at passing cars, Bedouins stealing cattle or sheep from Israeli farmers, Arab MK's travelling to Syria and Lebanon, one of them even fled the country after being exposed as a spy. Arab MK and prominent members of the Arab community identifying themselves as Palestinians and refusing to recognize the Jewish identity of Israel, Arabs denying us our connection and right to Jerusalem and to the Temple Mount, Arab MK's becoming central figures in anti-Israeli events, such as the Nakba day, accusing us of genocide. Arab lecturers at Sapir college refusing to teach a yehudon in IDF uniform. Muhammad Bakri and his lies in Jenin, Jenin. Now are these reasons enough, or should I attempt a proper research of the reasons why we shun Arabs?
39. Is racism one of our 613 Torah mitzvot that Israel must
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (12.09.07)
abide by? Racism, saying Hallel on Yom Ha'atzma'ut, democracy (that doesn't exist in the middle east at all, including Israel) are new mitzvot for certain people, but they're not part of our Torah and there's no obligation. Israelis should first keep the old traditional 613 commandment, that we, Jews, were commanded, then we'll look for new stuff.
40. empathy
izzaak   (12.09.07)
the people of arabia and the world of islam have yet to understand what a crime against humanity it was not to offer unlimited refuge to the anti-nazi democrats of europe as their lives would have not been threatened as was the case of the righteous gentiles christian atheist and islam .
41. what about arab racism?
kutuzov ,   new york   (12.09.07)
lets see... non-muslims aren't allowed in mecca, medina. Non-muslims cannot display any religious symbols in saudi arabia and can't worship freely. Non-muslims have been relegated dhimmi status in arab countries for centuries. This status is not only open racism but sanctioned by arab political systems and by islam itself. Islam states that non-muslims have to pay a "protection tax" in order to be subjugated by muslims. I wonder why no one ever speaks of arab racism?
42. #32 huh?
Israel Israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.09.07)
You wrote many lines of text, but I couldn't understand what you were trying to say. Please give us your thoughts as to the relevance of - Pekiin - rape in Netanya - Jaljulya - Ra'ed Salah
43. to #5 keren:
shphoenix ,   columbus, oh, usa   (12.09.07)
Well, you have to remember that the jews are the immigrants in this country since they immgrated from all across the europe and the world from where they were kicked out... THe arabs are the original jews that got converted to islam.. So you are not in a position to impose a jewish state upon everyone living in israel nor you are in a position to tell them to emigrate. You should try to live in harmony with them as if YOU immigrated....
44. Arabs are the most racist people in the world!
ArabshateJews ,   USA   (12.09.07)
They hate Blacks, Jews etc. The Jews in Israel should be wary of the Arabs who support the destrucion of Israel through terrorism.
45. # 32 Secular Eagle
Thomas   (12.09.07)
"Of course, much the same arguments were used in the Deep South during the Civil Rights movement era." - That comparrison makes no sense whatsoever.
46. #43 -A new invention,a new filth switch?
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (12.09.07)
" THe arabs are the original jews that got converted to islam" Wow!Can you explain this now one?
47. $43, unbelievable
israeli ,   israel   (12.09.07)
what happened to the native Americans? What was the result of the harmony you imposed on them?
48. #43
,     (12.09.07)
I am glad to see you mention that the Jews were kicked out from countries where they had lived for centuries. Not only that, they were also told to go to Palestine (Jews, go to Palestine! was what the handful of Jews that survived the Holocaust heard when attempting to return to their homes). And the reason they were told to go to Palestine was - guess what! everybody knew that Palestine was the Land of Israel, the Jewish homeland. Thank you for bringing this up.
49. to #35
Ora ,   Jerusalem   (12.09.07)
Why are you ignoring the many "right-wing" (apparently, according to this study, actually mainstream) opinions from your fellow Israelis? It's easy to dismiss us all as "Americans," not so easy to argue points. Also, I find it amusing that someone in Tel Aviv thinks she understands the "real situation." Tel Aviv has one of the lowest Arab populations in Israel. Do you deal with a Muezzin (or 12) screaming prayers at the top of his lungs every 5 am? Do you go to the mall only to be surrounded by Arab families giving you looks of hate (or, in the cases of the young men, dirty looks and dirty offers)? Do you have to worry about constant sexual harassment from Arab men that is clearly targeting Jewish women because they are Jewish? I live in a relatively "mixed" area, and I do. I doubt you do, or you wouldn't be so naive as to offer a "sulha" as a solution. A sulha will not solve the issue of over a million Arabs who see us as intruders, and tens of thousands (at least) who see us a legitimate targets for rape, robbery, and murder.
50. Racism or caution?
Petra ,   usa   (12.09.07)
So, should we kiss all arabs to show them that terror is 'understood'? Personally, I've noted more and more muslims in America and I don't like it! They add nothing but suspicion to our midst. They have Al Jazeera, here in the states, they bring their foul hatred of Jews, western culture with them and, I ask honestly, what the hell good do they bring to anyplace? Dogs are better treated than muslim women. Their lifestyle belongs where it began, in the muslim states. Stay there, you aren't welcome here9-11 sealed your fate!
51. # 18 Sonoma Boob
Petra ,   usa   (12.09.07)
If your thesis is correct, all Americans shouldn't be there either. Except perhaps the Indians. So, Boob, shut the hell up, thanks and have a nice day.
52. Compare real Arab racism with Israel.
ali ,   London, UK   (12.19.07)
Compare real Arab racism with Israel. Let's compare Arab racism with bogus anti-Arab racism charges on Israel. http://freeisraelnow.blogspot.com/2007/12/go-ahead-compare-real-arab-racism-with.html
53. Racism and Israel
Mark ,   Bournemouth, UK   (03.01.08)
I agree that the Media these days is of very poor quality, but just as it pained me to see Jewish settlers uprooted and Synagogues destroyed,it equally upsets me to see massive disproportionate response from the Israeli Military eg;Airstrikes.WHY?blood begets blood, and ALL are blind! Shalom.
54. racism on rise
shlomo getz ,   hartford, ct, usa   (03.06.08)
you gotta be kidding? racism is the state, is the people, is the existence of israel. 100% is 100%.
55. discrimination of Arabs
shoshi ,   north   (09.02.08)
Why is it that arab Cities in Israel are less developed? Because more of their citizens avoid paying taxes. They demand equal rights without equal comitnents. So , why do they complain about discrimination?
56. "RACISM"?????
Arabian Jew ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.04.10)
How dare you twist the English definition of racism to suit your agenda?! Racism is defined in ALL dictionaries as the discrimination based on difference in RACE. And race alone. Jews and Arabs are related, with related languages,
57. There are no real victims in this case.
Mike ,   USA   (03.27.11)
they are equally responsible for their actions. There is no such thing as self defense against rock throwers, while murdering children via missiles.Victims are Jewish and Arabic alike, as are the culprits. USA will never fully understand this situation as we aren't capable of seeing ouselves in their shoes. I only wish that peace will prevail in the future.
58. seriously?
Alan Geoffrey ,   Beverly Hills, USA   (08.01.11)
"Israel is blacklisted in most Arab countries so why should I want to befriend an arab? " Because the Arab is an Israeli first, and and Arab second, you racist moron. Hes' not a citizen of one of the Israeli states boycotting Israel. The Arab lives in Israel, racist lunatic. That you can't recognize how racist your statement is, is astounding.
59. I suspect there is much more racism now.
Mark E. Smith ,   San Diego USA   (08.11.11)
This poll is from 2007 and racism in Israel has increased greatly since then. I'd like to see a new poll.
