#13, regardless of what he thinks, is not representative of most American's opinions. By and large, we wish Israel well and will aid when we can. What we won't do though is fight your wars for you. The threat is to Israel. Israel must meet it. If it isn't serious enough for Israel to sacrifice it's young over, why should America sacrifice hers? America can't and won't fight another mideast war unless directly and clearly threatened.

Let's not have a double standard. Let's come clean. Does Israel have the "bomb" ? Will Israel submit to the same inspections they request of Iran ? As an American I do support Israel but I do believe there is also a double standard at play here. I think if Israel were to swear and forgo its own nuclear program and allow for the same inspections as it is requesting from Iran it would have the support of the entire world. But, as long as Israel wants its own secret nukes and at the same time makes Iran out to be the villain well that is not going to fly. If Israel has them, world opinion will be that then Iran should have them too in self defense. But, if Israel forgoes them then there will be IMMENSE pressure on not only Iran but all its neighbors to also forgo them.

Typically, the really open sores of Israeli behavior like the phony excuses for seizing the Golan in my previous post are studiously ignored. This will be followed by endless debates around Israeli dinner tables about why Israel policies are so despised by most of the world. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Just who exactly does this guy think he is ? I do believe that the Americans are the closest friends that Israel has. How many troops have we sent to protect them over the last decade ?
