4. When will the world learn?
Steve ,   UK   (12.10.07)
The only way we'll ever see Ron, or any of these other hostages again is when those who have them have all they want. As long as they have hostages, they can make any demands they want and now it looks like no one will stand up to it. How can they, when Ron's possible "execution" is a possibility. I think it's time to teach these terrorists a lesson and fight fire with fire.
5. Israelis are Pathetic
Stephen ,   Washington, DC   (12.10.07)
Since when is it other countries' responsibility to care about Israelis, especially Germany? If Israel wasn't filled with lefty cowards, they would just go into Lebanon or Gaza after Arad got kidnapped, take 1,000 arab men and offered a trade. if the arabs wouldn't respond, those 1000 men would be immediately executed. the arabs would quickly lose any interest in attacking jews, when the ratio of kills would become 1/1000. inhumane? perhaps, but trust you me, it's only force force that will work.
6. screw arad
Marwan ,   Amman, Jordan   (12.10.07)
10,000 palestinians (many of which are mere children) have been spending their lives behind israeli bars, yet i didn't hear aron ibn el erd's family say anything about them... so screw the arads.
7. To #6 Don't you love Jordan, with all the independent papers
Sasson ,   Eress Yisrael   (12.11.07)
and magazines that aren't controlled by the government. Don't you just love the political party system in Jordan, where any party can presumably gain control. Don't you love Jordan with all its technological innovations and biological advances. Ohh wait, what I am describing isn't Jordan but ISRAEL. Jordanian, you have no freedom to print independent newspapers, you have no freedom to broadcast anti-government radio shows. Muslim mindset dictates it usually doesn't revolt against its government since once states its Allah's will - how can one revolt against the will of Allah. But, it is only because of the birth and strength of Israel does the Arab world go insane, it is because they are insanely jealous and confused of how in the world could Allah betray them and bestow strength, intelligence, and victory to the Yahud. I got something to tell you Marwan, Eress Yisrael IS ALLAH'S WILL Get Used To It Salaam :)
8. grmns have reiterated their view of the value of Jewish life
dante ,   uk   (12.11.07)
there is a theme here: at best, it demonstrates german indifference to Jewish life. the germans could have helped and they chose not to. they could have done the decent thing and they recoiled from it.
9. Shame on Germany?
Chani ,   Germany   (12.11.07)
Even though I totally disagree with the release of these Iranians and would have been happy to see them being handed over in return for Ron Arad, I believe that this was all part of another exchange deal. A German fisherman who was in jail in Iran for entering Iranian sea was released early from prison. Berlin's release of the Mykonos assassins was probably part of that deal. And I understand if Germany takes more care of its own citizens than of Israelis. Any government would have done that.

Actually, why should there be jealousy? Jealousy of u being better criminals? Jealousy of having gay parades in Jerusalem? Jealousy for the corruption? Jealousy for occupying other's territories? Jealousy for not being able to defend ourselves? I'm not saying that here in Egypt things are better..but there's certainly nothing to be Jealous about when it comes to Israel..we're thankful actually that we ain't there. Strength, intelligence, and victory...When it comes to strength you can't deal with weakly armed militias, when it comes to intelligence your education system is failing...and when it comes to victory, you had it sour in the last Lebanon War.. so what is it exactly that we should be Jealous of again?
11. Chani from Germany
Dara ,   Israel   (12.11.07)
I'm sorry to say Chani, but you sorly mistaken when you say "And I understand if Germany takes more care of its own citizens than of Israelis. " I have never heard of any country delpoying rescue missions all over the world to save a single life like Israel has done. Our rescue teams have been everywhere from Turkey, to South America right back to the Far East in the past year saving Israelis. Where were the german doctors durring the Tzunami, I'm sure it's possible they may have been sent, I didn't hear anything. I've also never heard of a country and a population still concerned with a soldier who has been missing for over 2 decades... and yet here we are as Israelis still looking for Ron Arad.

Chani ,   Germany   (12.11.07)
You are missing the point here. First of all: of course German rescue troops were helping out after the tsunami. They send people all over the world (check out www.thw.bund.de/EN/ on that). And I am very sure that many other countries do that as well. Just because the Israeli media didn't cover it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. Secondly: Ron Arad is an Israeli citizen. This fisherman is German. Of course Germany agreed to a deal to save its own citizen rather than letting a German rot in Iran, because these Mykonos guys might become part of an exchange deal in the future to get Ron Arad's body back. Israel would certainly do the same in a similar situation. I fully agree that the way Israel and Israelis are concerned about Arad is unique. And as I said: I personally disagree with the early release of these guys, but I think it is unfair to put the blame on Germany here as if they did it on purpose, because they don't care about Ron Arad. Without secret German negotiations Israel also wouldn't have gotten E.Tenenboim and 3 bodies of Israeli soldiers back a couple of years ago. So, let's be fair. Germany is not playing against Israel here.
