2. Ahmadinejad's Pilgrimage
REZA ,   IRAN   (12.19.07)
Ahmadinejad and Mullahs's regime are always lying to Iranian Nation. The hard line Ahmadinejad, mad Khameneei and his followers are the biggest problem for Iran. We Iranian always want peace for the whole world in particular our old friends Jews. Our Persian cultures shows it. We are against any fanatic actions by this Mullahs regime. Iranian Nation want to remove this fanatic regime. They ignore Iranian Nation's will. The whole world should help iranian nation to remove this regime not by war but by supporting Iranian democratically and spiritually.
3. wow Reza #2 thanks for saying that
johnny walker   (12.19.07)
but I thought you guys were not allowed by your islamic strom troopers to go on the internet and look at "jewish" stuff persians have always been looked at in the west as far better educated and tolerant compared to the arabs. I hope that it will continue to be so, even though achmadijad and the rest are doing their best to destroy that respect Maybe when he gets back he wont be so keen to speed up the return of the mahdi and butcher jews and christians
4. This should come as no surprise.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.19.07)
The Saudis are covering all bases. But, one should not ignore the fact that while Iran is having great success in foreign relations, they are failing miserably domestically. Their mismanagement of the economy is nothing short of remarkable. Iran is not becoming stronger - it is becoming weaker. The lunatic & corrupt regime of clerics is desperate to stay in power. It is their failure at home that fuels their aggressive foreign policy. This combined with their bizarre religious ideology is what makes them so dangerous. In any case, Iran & Saudi Arabia are much alike. And since Islam is more a political movement, this is like the meeting of Hitler & Stalin - or if you prefer, a meeting of Stalin & Chairman Mao. It is essentially the meeting of factions of totalitarian ideology who can cooperate against democracy even if they murder each other with ruthless abandon. Both support global jihad & religious extremism. Birds of a feather ......
5. #2 Reza, Iran. I sympathize with your plight.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.19.07)
But you will never get rid of your lunatic Mullahs peacefully. Either you Iranians are prepared for a bloody confrontation & willing to rise up & overthrow them by force or they will lead you to disaster. It looks like no one in the West will do anything meaningful to effect regime change. By their inaction, they are actually making war inevitable. In any military exchange, Iran will be totally destroyed. I read an estimate recently that Iran would suffer upwards of 30 million dead in a nuclear war with Israel. I have always said that military action now is better than waiting for an even worse catastrophe. If you want to avoid a major disaster for your country, you can count on no one except yourselves.
6. Terry, Eilat....
Adam ,   London   (12.19.07)
Terry - PLEASE KEEP on posting, i love reading your posts, very informative and i always agree.... i wanted to ask you as you mentioned you read an estimate... i have been trying to find an article or estimate on the web from a military perspective regarding israel Vs Iran, have you read anything of the sort or could you recomment if possible? and before anyone comments im obviously talking about speculative articles.... if not, not to worry.. thanks anyway
7. Arabs are not scared, they are realistic
Persian CAT   (12.19.07)
The only country which lost big time is Israel. By pushing the illegal sanctions to be levied against Iran for pursuing its legal goals, and by trying to deceive the Americans and the poeples of the world and push them twards war with Iran, Israel is the only one trying to "disprove" the American intel community for supporting the NIE which basically screwed the amateurish Isreali policy establishment. To Israel's dismay, the Shieh and Sunni will join hands to fight thier common enemy, Zionism, soon. Iran is quite cabable to be the leader in the ME. Let's not forget the largest Jewish population in the ME, outside Israel, live in Iran.

Invicta ,   Europa   (12.19.07)
Iran is suffering economically and the people in Iran are most probably aware of this. The way in which they can change the situation is to replace their leaders in the way they see fit. Not by bombing them. It hasn't worked; in Iraq, Palestine, Vietnam, Kashmir, etcetera, etcetera Islam is not a 'political movement' it is a religion. 'global jihad' can in no way be compared to Hitler and Stalin on any level. On reach, ambition, effectivness, casualties or even ideology. And when have Iranians and Saudis murdered each other 'with ruthless abandon'?
9. Ahmadinejad is not the leader of Iran!!!!!!
josef cohen ,   herzliya il   (12.19.07)
It would be nice if Middle East\Iran commentators could even get the most basic facts correct. Ahmadinejad is not the leader of Iran! Ayatollah Khamenei is the leader. And the warming up has been going on for some time. The renewal of diplomatic ties, between both Saudia Arabia and Egypt. The Arab league inviting Iran as a guest participant are rather glaring examples of the change in relations. It is of course no doubt motivated by fear of both Iran's growing power but equally the realization that the US is losing interest in the region and not likely to risk another military confrontation or further war. The huge military package offered up earlier this to regional allies was pretty much the final nail as the US signalled they were not prepared to put US lives at risk and the locals must stand up to Iran alone.
10. to 7 you are totally right brother!!!!!

11. #6 Adam, London. Thanks.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.19.07)
I forgot the source I read on a potential nuclear exchange with Iran, sorry. Basically, it said that Israel would sustain between 250,000 - 350,000 dead but most likely would survive as an organized society. Our retaliation would potentially cause between 25-30 million Iranian dead & Iran would not survive as an organized society - it would be the end of Iranian history. The point was that Iran could only develop a relatively small bomb (small being relative in nuclear terms) while Israel has many large bombs. The article suggested that we would hit Syria & possibly Egypt as well since we could not take a chance of them attacking in a moment of weakness. The article was by an American military analyst, formerly a general, & I have to admit, was quite scary to contemplate. I will try & find the source later today & will post it either on this article or on whatever article on Iran is current. I think that whatever consequences there are to militarily stopping Iran, they are far less than allowing them to continue. I don't believe that there is any value to thinking in terms of deterrence since basically, I don't assume the Iranian regime to be rational. They pursue irrational goals by rational means - like 1930's Germany. It's the ideology ....
12. why don't you consider as joint power of sunni & shiite
Khalid ,   Saudi   (12.19.07)
why don't you consider it as gathering between sunni and shitte and close the gap between the two sect.. becuase Saudi Arabia represent the sunni world and Iran represent the shitte world
13. No. 7
(12.19.07)
You're 100% wrong when you say that it was only Israel trying to disprove the NIE's report. Where were you when British intelligence basically said the report is crap and that you Iranians have pulled the wool over America's eyes?
14. # 4 You're Obviously Muslim
Thomas   (12.19.07)
It's absolutely fair to compare the Muslims to the Communists and Nazis, precisely because believe their religion should consume the world and have a bloody history to go with their putrid beliefs. The contemporary French writer Francois Gautier has said, "The massacres perpetuated by Muslims in India are unparalleled in history, bigger than the Holocaust of the Jews by the Nazis; or the massacre of the Armenians by the Turks; more extensive even than the slaughter of the South American native populations by the invading Spanish and Portuguese." - and of course India is just one example. How many examples do you need of Muslims showing absolute contempt for anything non-Muslim throughtout its wretched history?
15. # 7 - Nothing to Brag About
(12.19.07)
When the Iranian government allows Jewish families the freedom to choose whether they want to stay or emmigrate to another country, then you can talk about your Jewish population. Given how the Iranian government has arrested Jewish community figures (Hebrew teachers, kosher butchers, etc) for treason without evidence along with the disappearence of a couple of dozen who have tried to escape, my guess is the idea of leaving has dawned on quite a few of them and they can't.
16. MISSAPPREHENDED ARTICLE
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (12.19.07)
gone are the days of sectarian hatred.Although, vested interest took advantage of this Shia-sunni differences in the begining, both the sects have realised the weakness of the Muslim unity in portraying themselves in the name of Shia and Sunni.Even now, there are elements still existing in Saudi Arabia who would continue to despise Shias but the intensity of the same is declining rapidly and the Iranians have found place in the hearts of ordinary Muslim masses in Arab neighbourhood.
17. #8 Invicta Somewhere in Europe.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.19.07)
Iranians & Saudis murder each other through proxies in Iraq. And they are doing an excellent job of it. In case you hadn't noticed, Muslims have no problem murdering other Muslims - they do it all the time. But my point was that Sunni or Shi'a, both would cooperate to kill unbelievers - as Iranian support for Hamas or Hezbollah supporting Syria demonstrates. Since there is no separation of religion & state in Islam, then Islam is obviously political in nature. The fact that Islamists call for Islamic Shari'a law or promote jihad as a means to fight unbelievers is political. The example of Mohammed as head of a state further supports my calling Islam a political movement. That it is a totalitarian ideology should be obvious since Shari'a law covers every aspect of life, including dress codes, censorship, lack of freedom of religion, the murder of apostates, dhimmi status for unbelievers, oppression of women, the murder of gays, etc. & Iran is indeed a perfect example of a police state as is Saudi Arabia. Thankfully, none of these lunatics have the power of a Germany or a Soviet Union but they are certainly trying. If you believe that Iranians can change their "mullahcracy" by peaceful means, you are dreaming. Either they hang the mullahs from lamp-posts a la Mussolini or there is outside intervention to effect regime change. And getting rid of the mullahs would mean that the army sides with the opposition or it cannot work.
18. Gulf states are not scared, gulf states and Iran are.....

This article is fearmongering. Your lies are evil and murderous.
22. Black stone in Mecca

Actually the Black stone in Mecca was a Pagan shrine before the Muslims coopted it.
23. # 2 Reza ,Iran
Petra ,   usa   (12.19.07)
Perhaps you Iranians should revolt or, assassinate the prick? Who put him in power? Why should we fight your internal war? Do what is necessary to remove this embarassment to Iran, if you can. You can bet that sooner or later, Iran will be involved in a war NOT of your chosing because of the nuclear threat to all. BTW, is this clown married, own a donkey or does he just screw the Iranians?
24. The iranian pres looks nice in diapers!
Petra ,   usa   (12.19.07)
It matches his iq.
25. Irresponsible reporting
Mehmet ,   Manila, Philippines   (12.19.07)
What a piece of anti-muslim hatred filled garbage. How can you say Saudi is scared of Iranian leader and at the same time invites him to Hajj. Or Bahrain is scared of Iran and then their minister mocks US and Israel on behalf of Iran. NIE is a fact ,live with it. It seems that for a zionist a facts is immaterial and must be ignored as long as they don't suit their desire. Why don't you just take all the Palestinians as full fledged citizens of your "democratic" state of Israel and end all these venoumous hatred of muslims on your part. You morons have just brought the world on the edge of a nuclear world war III .... enough, we have had enough of hatred and manipulation
26. Muslim Unity
(12.19.07)
It is good to see articles like this. It reminds us of how much the Jews hate the Muslims, but also how they try to divide the Muslim nation. The separation between sunni and shia is ending, but the Jews will always try to divide us. Why do you do this? Why not allow all people of all religions in Palestine (a.k.a. Israel) to have equal rights? The same for all Jews, Muslims, Christians, etc? Why do only Jews have the right to live there as full citizens?
27. NIE report
marvin ,   u.s. of a   (12.19.07)
it is ironic that israel and their zoinist sympathizers enthusiastically accepted and embraced the 2005 NIE report when it said Iran was building a nuke bomb. but now all of a sudden the latest NIE report is not to their taste and is full of "diception", "lies",etc. this is a great set back for Israel. at the end of the day Iran has more strategic value for the U.S than israel.
28. One way street
Mary ,   Australia   (12.19.07)
Not even one comment is in favour of Iran and its president. Are these comments all written by Ynet staff writers. Come on you must have opposing views as well. Is this Israeli democracy? Why do you bother to ask your readers to present their comments at all? Just post your own opinion....Typical Jewish fanaticism.
29. The Revolution is dying and so is Islam...
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (12.19.07)
The Revolution is dying and so is Islam... Iran's oil and gas resources, if growth is maintained as it has been since 1979, will be gone by 2015... The Iranian public is growing ever more restless with the current regime as human rights abuses surpass those of the Shah... The Iranian public is growing increasingly disgusted with Islam as Sharia is applied to a harsher and harsher extent. Names like Kouroush and Darioush are gaining in popularity, and the interest in pre-Islamic Persian culture is also growing... Expect the Revolution to be history by 2040, if not sooner. The walls of Islamic fundamentalism are cracking and pretty soon, breaches will be made in them... The world is growing more and more interested in renewable energy as a result of climate change and Muslim countries will find themselves awash in oil as they desperately seek buyers for it.... As Islamic nations are stripped of their sole source of revenue, human rights abuses, approved by the authority of Islam, will grow more severe as their governments demand larger and larger pieces of an ever-shrinking pie... The fate of the Iranian Revolution will be the fate of Islam itself as popular disgust with Islam grows... Islam's fate is sealed and peace awaits us all...
30. Reza
Shir ,   Finland   (12.19.07)
Do you claim that all Iranians are against the government, cause that would be a lie. All radical Muslims in Iran support their President. So maybe you should refer to the opposition instead of all people. Ironically an Iranian man who stalked me for months had the same name as you. I personally donĀ“t consider Iranians to be friends of Jews (at least not mine) War will be reality sometime in the next few years.
