1. Pilgrims for Christmas
Joy Wolfe ,   Cheadle UK   (12.19.07)
Sadly the UK media and the BBC are only interested in negative stories and continue to put out the message that the tourists are being prevented from reaching the Christian holy places. And of course they continue to spread the message that it is israel who is responsible for driving out the Christians when in reality the truth is that it is a result of the way they are treated by the Palestinians
2. Pilgrimage
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.20.07)
If and when I make a pilgrimage to Israel, it won't be to look at the haunts of dead Christians, but at live, good-looking, Jewish men. :-)
3. to all those that say
(12.20.07)
that israel BEING A JEWISH STATE is intolerant of other religions.....especially the christian palestinian patriarch that slammed israel for wanting to be a jewish nation with a jewish character and government......claimimg that the jews of israel opress the other minorities such as muslims and christians......this article points to the fact that not only that israel and jews do not discriminate against other religions in our holy land, not only that israel fully respects all religious sites and takes good care of them, not only that israel allows all without exception to enter its holy shrines as well as the temple mount and christian churches and muslim mosques without any prejudice....this article puts to shame any of the antisemite palestinian argument that isarael religiously discriminates against minorities. now, if you'd like to talk about islamic countries such as saudi arabia, the gulf nations, etc.... could a jew build a temple there and pray? could a christian build a church on saudi land and cary a bible? could a jew pray to his god in saudi arabia? are there any churches left in gaza and west bank that have not been burned and its christian communities reduced to nothing by constant muslim terror and pogroms, burning of their churches, etc... all the mahmoods and richards from london can see plainly that the jews in israel despite all their difficulties are some of the most genuinely tollerant of people in the middle east. period!

7. There is an article in the current issue of "American Free
Rivkah   (12.20.07)
Press" about attacks on Christians who visit Israel by Jews in religious garments who spit on them and on crosses. Someone who lives in Israel should write a reply to that newspaper because it is very condemning and needs to be rebutted if the accusations are not true.
8. Christian sites in Pali areas of Israel.
JB ,   USA   (12.20.07)
I am A Christian and returned from Israel 2 weeks ago. We toured Israel from Tel Dan all the way down to Tel Arad, Ein Gedi, Hebron, Shiloh, etc. I purposely did not visit Bethlehem, Nazareth or Jericho because they are in the Pali areas. I am glad I did not. Because last night on (I believe) the History Channel there was a documentary on Bethlehem and the Christians were slamming Israel at every opportunity.

What if they are true? Who's side would you be on?
10. please Israel don't give away Judea and Samaria
Andrew ,   Melbourne, Australia   (12.21.07)
One day (hopefully soon) I want to go on a pilgrimage to Israel. I want to feel safe by the presence of the IDF. The last thing I want to see is Hamas gunmen running around shouting death to the infidels

I'd have to hang around the shul up the street and check things out on the sly or try to be more direct, and you know how shy I am. To walk up to a guy and tell him that "you're so good-looking, you must be Jewish" might not go over too well around here. The odds don't work in my favor in Atlanta, whereas in Israel, those odds would improve tremendously. I just want to window-shop, and why bother with Walmart, when you can take a little trip and have the pleasure of eyeing loads of Armanis? I only hope that God has a sense of humor or I'm in deep, deep dodo.
12. 9: I understand the hatred of the cross and Christians...
Rivkah   (12.21.07)
because of Jew hating by so many people who thought they were Christians and probably were not since they did not even celebrate the seventh day Sabbath. But perhaps there is a better way to resolve the differences than by spitting. There is a valid covenant for Jews who are Jews in their hearts and there is a valid covenant for Gentiles who are Jews in their hearts. Most people who call themselves Jews are atheists and most people who call themselves Christians are called by God perhaps, but not chosen by God. Rabbi Yeshua said religious unbelievers are children of the devil. But what if one or more of the Christians really are Jews in their hearts and not merely practicing self deception? Then the Jews are spitting on people in God's tent or family. I do not think God wants to be represented by a cross when Yeshua was crucified on a tree and forgave those who put him to death since they did not know what they were doing. The cross has been so misused in attacking Saturday Sabbath people that my mother would not wear one and she discouraged her children from buying crosses and cross necklaces. She went to a Messianic Jewish temple and belonged the the Jewish Community Center in Tucson, Arizona for many years.

The article might be accurate-- but talking about the actions of one or more of the etreme ultra-Orthodox sects, such as Neturei Karta or the Satmar group. These groups have a history of rejecting the State of Israel, too. Please post a link-- I~d like to see if it's reported as a general occurrence or for what it really is, the actions of small groups of extremists intolerant even of Jews less religious than they are.
15. Palestinian Christians & History in general
Claudia ,   Tampa USA   (12.22.07)
I've heard those PC living in Palestinian areas described as at best living between a rock and a hard place. Their numbers are dwindling due to Islamic discrimination and unless Christian organizations give them support and call attention to their plight they will soon disappear from Gaza and the West Bank, as well as Arab Christians from all other Islamic countries. I am a Christian and was not born prior to WW11 and give Israel my support at every opportunity. I don't feel responsible for the terrible acts of violence toward the Jews where ever that has occured. It is not so simple though as to tell Jews "get over it" it was a different era, for the sword of Islam is now raised above all our heads. Hopefully we can work together to secure the Holy Land from the tyranny of Islam, and while doing so come to peace between Christians and Jews as well. Israel is supported by the vast majority of Americans, and we are doing all we can to see that day.
16. 7 Michael: www.americanfreepress.net is the website...
Rivkah   (12.22.07)
Unfortunately, when people read the article, they think Israelis hate American tourists and Christians. Israel does not need more enemies. The article says people dressed in Jewish religious attire (which could be as simple as a kippah or the orthodox attire or prayer shawl) but people in the west do not know it is a small group of radicals and the article needs to be rebutted. Perhaps the Rothschilds should purchase Free American Press newspaper to control the content under a nom-de-plume.
17. 14 Michael: I tried to send an email at the website
Rivkah   (12.22.07)
explaining your answer to the article, but the email connect is down, as it is for most websites that invite comments. A letter by post office will have to be sent and may or may not be printed in the next issue.
18. Pilgrims

They are welcome as long as they are not missionaries. I just hope that we will have lots of Jewish tourists, too, in the future

Trust me. if you're looking for hot guys (and I can only hope that you are), go to Israel. Israeli guys are very different from American Jews. You'll see what I mean if you get there.

Ms. Claudia, if you know anything at all about the Palestinian struggle you should know that its a national one not a religious one. while Israel's legitmacy is based on religion "crap", The palestinians -muslims, christians, and atheists- base their legitmacy on international law and human rights. as most Israelis and american jews, the media had brain washed you to believe that this is a clash of civlizations between the Islamic world and the Judeo Christian west. well its not. look up george habash, he is a Palestinian christian and a the leader of the PFLP.
