The hype around the gun should hopfully enocurage the IDF to fully adopt it as weapon of choice for all combat units so far only 15,000 orders have been placed by the IDF for the Givatis. Replace the M4 an old weapon also not the weapon of choice for the Middle east climate having small vents and being prone to jamings.

It may escape the notice of those posting that hardly anybody in movies ACTUALLY gets killed. What looks nice as a piece of art direction bears no relation to the real world. It's a movie. Israel's major exports, like medical technology and most of all the world-dominating Intel computer ship designs don't look 'sexy' in movies, so you don't see them. Hollywood has existed on 'cool guns' since the first Edison hand-cranked pictures. That will probably not change.

And it is as good as it looks. The Uzi was great,but the Tavor looks and works better.

The M4 is not a "old" weapon... there is no such thing as an "old" weapon to anyone in the military, only in movies. If a weapon has all the aspects of a good combat rifle and is reliable if you take care of it, why switch. Personally I would not trade my M-16 for the Tavor even if the army mandated it, the M-16 works for me and shoots me centimeter holes; I have no need for a replacement weapon personally. The only thing I would modify is to get the HK416 upper reciever to my M16.

None of you people seem to have any moral issues with blood money. Instead of making money on guns (which eventually end up in the wrong hands and kill you back), invest in high-tech, make money of the brain you have. And all those who use the "bad neighborhood" as an excuse to produce and sell deadly weapons to anyone who is willing to pay for it are moral impotents. In the end of the day, you answer to your consiousness, if you got any.

I am shocked that a poor man who just wanted to pray with Mel Gibson has been jailed for 3 years. I find this to be very revealing about his real true attitude given his "Passion of the Christ" movie. While I do not know all of the details about everything that happened, I do know that someone wasn't true to their own professed beliefs in Matthew 25:45 and this is an important thing to consider (Mat 25:31-46). If this disturbs me even though I am not a religious person, then why doesn't it disturb many others who do believe in the words of Matthew 25:31-46? Actions do speak louder than words and in this case there is a message for all who are willing to see it and to learn from it because it can open our eyes.

There are no international laws forbidding selling weapons to countries in conflict. You should be thankful for this because if the US ever stops selling Israel weapons you are dead. An Arab invasion against a defenseless Israel won't stop at the occupied territories. An Arab Army in Tel Aviv won't thank you for voting Meretz. They will kill you just as they do the Jews of Hebron.
