1. Posters
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (01.08.08)
I seriously doubt that Bush will be upset over a poster. Actually, that gear doesn't look half bad on him. He could start a whole, new trend: Change the design to red, white and blue, and we may have The Texas Towel :-)
2. Let the US Marines deal with them!

3. Down w/Disrespect mascarauding as freedom of speech

4. Bush in a kaffiyah?
Chonny ,   Colorado, US   (01.08.08)
The United States is currently fighting against Islamic terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have ships in the Persian Gulf and aircraft to the north in central Asia. How, exactly, is President Bush in league with Islam?? Is this yet another attempt to drive a wedge between the US and Israel?
5. Nothing like freedom of speech...
Enemy of State ,   Judea   (01.08.08)
Criticising the right wing is freedom of speech. Criticising the left wing is treason. Three cheers for Israeli "democracy."
6. Fine Ynet Journalism
Extremist ,   None of your busines   (01.08.08)
"Extreme right wing activists"? That's what passes for unbiased journalism at Ynet? Kol Hakavod.
7. One rule for the left another for the right
lemar ,   uk   (01.08.08)
Typical left wing hypocracy. They can say and do whatever they want and its free speech but the moment a left wing does something similar they are arrested
8. THREE PUPPETS
CAROL ,   EILAT   (01.08.08)
GREAT PICTURE SAY NO MORE
10. freedom of speech
chaim ,   miami beach usa   (01.08.08)
In Israel the rights to freedom of speech and expression hish is one of the same is only afforded to the Islamic or Arab communities, they are undisturbed when they publicly proclaim from their pulpit a call for hate, violence, disobedience, and treason by act and deed. Jews speech is tightly monitored, as is their right to express their total rejection of assisting a failed government, a failed policy, a failure to be submissive to a foreign leader who made it his personal agenda to invite a gang of murderers to a safe haven from which to rain down bombs, rockets, missiles, sniper fire against the heart of Israel. All such objections are deemed illegal as they are an incitement to violence, the mere fact that these people depicted are portrayed outwardly as they are inwardly is irrelevant, since it offends the senses of a crooked Government Good luck Israel if these are the policies that are tolerated by the public you deserve all the scorn heaped upon you by the majority of the oil driven countries, How can you respect any country that has no self respect
11. Impact of Bush visit
Daniel ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (01.08.08)
Those guys are just a bunch of clowns. They are doing more harm to their cause than good. It is a pity that Ynet is focussing on them rather than going into depth about the impact of Bush visit on our country. At http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com you have a detailed analysis of the significance of Bush's middle east tour.
12. posters
Eyal ,   Jerusalem   (01.08.08)
And yes, the idiots who published these posters are right-wing extremists, far, far out of the mainstream of the vast majority of Israelis. You don't speak for me, I doubt even the majority of Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria support you. Let's hope the evacuation of the illegal outposts funally begins, and these self-appointed kings of Israel are finally reminded that they live in a democracy where the majority rules.
14. Democracy? Yeah. Riiiight.
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (01.08.08)
Free Speech. The strange and appearantly unilateral idea of the USA, is not to be found in bolshevik Israel. control and manipulation of the media, ALL media and thought is the single largest deterrent to the much sought after "massive Aliyah" from the US and Canada. Those Jews have gotten used to being able to express positive or negative thoughts without "Champagne/Eyal" agents provocateur of the governmental services bending simple opposition and attempting to quash the ability to be in a loyal opposition. Israel not only needs a new PM, it needs a new form of government. An open and free one, not based on the SOPs of a Kafka novel.
16. Extreme right
Avi ,   Tel-Aviv   (01.08.08)
Itamar Ben G'vir and his right-extremists are nothing but the other side of the medallion which has the Muslim fundamentalists on the opposite side. Without both groups ME would be a far mroe peaceful place to live.
17. What DEMOCRATIC country! Free Speech ONLY for LEFT criminals
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (01.08.08)
18. Why did they have to be paid?
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (01.08.08)
One would think they would be willing to do it out of their "idealism"
19. Dangerous incitement
Simon ,   TA Israel   (01.08.08)
The people responsible for these posters should be dealt with harshly by the law. They are reminicient of the hatred shown to Rabin before he was assasinated. Freedom of speah Yes, but incitment to hatred No! Unfortuently these so called religious extremist are very fluent in the language of hatred.
20. BE IT KNOWN
ben ,   singapore   (01.08.08)
The letter opens with praise for Bush as the "president of the West" and is followed by a list of demands including to declare "in front of the world that the Land of Israel was given to the Jewish people by the Creator." The American president is requested to seize the opportunity of his visit to Israel to make a declaration similar to ones, Steinsaltz claims, was made by Persian king Cyrus the Great in 539 BCE as well as Englishman Lord James Balfour in 1917: to recognize the right of the Jewish people over the Land of Israel. Rabbi Steinsaltz at work (Photo: Chaim Richman) Steinsaltz also asks that the American president work to settle Jews in "every corner of the Land of Israel" and push America Jews to make aliyah. "I will urge the Jews in my country and hold the corners of their garments to bring them to the Land of Israel and settle them there and to erect the Temple of God in Jerusalem and to push foreigners away from it."
21. Nothing wrong-- a valid expression.
Harry   (01.08.08)
22. the poster looked pretty acurate to dumb ol' me
jack bauer ,   20-20 vision   (01.08.08)
"The activists, who were arrested for vandalism, stated that they were paid to put up the posters by a right-wing activist. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing" some guy puts up posters....? so he must be right wing extremist? lol I agree with the idea on the poster. one only has to look at barghouti being released, daily rocket attacks, shootings, hostage soldiers, more prisoner releases?, giving a portion (Hashems portion) away to these very terrorists, winograd, etc ...... you dont have to be a conservative is order to see that those three seem to be working for the wrong side
23. hey #20 where do i find a copy of the letter
(01.08.08)
24. What is wrong with Israel?
Sidney ,   USA   (01.08.08)
In the U.S. such an action by the police would bring immediate action by the ACLU. Every day people insult Bush more than picturing him in a kaffiyeh. Until Israel has a written constitution with a bill of rights, I will not consider it a democracy.
25. Chonny #4: You have not been listening to Mr. Bush
Steve ,   Fla.   (01.08.08)
Bush is not fighting "Islamic" terrorists. Mr. Bush has been clear. We are at war with "terrorists." These terrorists have nothing to do with Islam. They are traitors to their own faith. George W. Bush: "The terrorists practice a fringe form of Islamic extremism that has been rejected by Muslim scholars and the vast majority of Muslim clerics -- a fringe movement that perverts the peaceful teachings of Islam..... " The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect, to hijack Islam itself. The enemy of America is not our many Muslim friends; it is not our many Arab friends." We are at war with "terrorism" Chonny, plain and simple. George W. Bush is with our jihadist enemies; he is with America's enemies and Israel's enemies. He meets with these jihadists in the White House. He prays with them in their mosques. He celebrates Ramadan with them and other Muslim holy days. He is determined to establish a 23rd Mulslim-jihadist killer state in the Holy Land.
26. #21 Nothing wrong?
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (01.08.08)
That depends if they're Right or Left activists. If they're Right-wing, they're "Extreme Right-wing Activists" and off to jail. If they're Left-wing, they're "Left-wing Peaceful Activists" utilizing "free speech". What a bunch of hypocrites the media is.
27. M. HARTLEY: YOU ARE HILARIOUS!
SETTHERECORDSTRAIGHT   (01.08.08)
28. YOU SAID IT NUMBER 5.
SETTHERECORDSTRAIGHT   (01.08.08)
APPARENTLY FREEDOM OF SPEECH DOES NOT APPLY TO THE REASONABLE. (IE: "EXTREME RIGHT WING")!
29. IT'S OKAY FOR QUEENS TO PARADE IN JERUSALEM...
(01.08.08)
WEARING NOTHING BUT A G-STRING, MAKING OUT WITH AND GROPING EACH OTHER WHILE PARADING THROUGH THE HOLY CITY, BUT WHEN A LITTLE LIGHT IS SHED UPON BOZO OLMERT AND WEAK-IN-THE-KNEES PERES -- THAT IS CONSIDERED A CRIME!?!
30. Posters
Jud ,   US   (01.08.08)
Why in the world did the police arrest those posting political expression posters. They have a right to do that. their arrest is oppressive and repression of freedom of speech. Sue the police and put up more posters. Olmert says and does MUCh worse !
