Barenboim should do us all a favour and go and live there. This is a nasty little piece of propaganda. The new "Palestinian" state will, of course, be a flourishing democracy - except in one small detail. It will tolerate only ethnic Arabs in it. It will be Judenrein. Israel, on the other hand, has to deny any claims to being the Jewish State and tolerate a minority Arab population (as most liberal democracies these days) and even accept a "return" of people who never once stepped into the country. But that ain't quite good enough for the Palestinians. There's no compromise on religious or ethnic grounds - until now, of course, when they will be able to say that a Jew is an honorary citizen. What chutspah.

"Palestine" will be anything but a flourishing democracy. Read the Basic Law that functions as the PA's constitution. It has the strength of a wet paper bag and will be replaced by Sharia before you can say the word 'taqiyyeh'.
