31. Bandits in Chechnya also have been winning the info-war
Damir ,   Russia   (01.22.08)
But where are they today?
32. No Matter What
Sam ,   Jerusalem   (01.22.08)
No Matter What Israel does it will be condemned by a variety of antisemites who have been convinced that Israel on its tiny strip of land(smaller than Kruger National Park in South Africa)and with a population of 5 million is oppressing over 500 million Arabs including Palastinians that surround it. Well done Arab/Palastinian propaganda machine you have won the propaganda war.
33. Khalil Ishabib, "one side is telling the truth"
Jake   (01.22.08)
"and the other is not." That is right: the Pallywood side is not, and never has. Lie after Lie after Lie after sickening Lie. You spun on the world the lie that Israel cut off fuel and electricity, while the Israeli generators and suppliers were delivering 70% of Gaza's fuel and electricity under Kassam bombardment. Israel never "cut off" anything, and the truth is out, my friend. It may not reach the whole world today or tomorrow, as your supporters have ensured that chaos and lies rule the airwaves and e-waves OK, but eventually the truth will get its boots on and march around the world, as they say, Inshallah.
34. To Mr. Roi Mandel
FO ,   Belgium   (01.22.08)
I am sorry to tell you, Mr. Mandel that your failure is worse, by writing about "the shooting of Al Dura", because not a single bullet was fired against him. As is the failure of the IDF by not raising this important fact. Concerning PR and Gaza, do you really expect world opinion to be more Israeli than your President who pronounced the miserable sentence: "Kassamim, schmassamim, what is all this hysteria about"?
35. PR failure
Lazerbenabba ,   London   (01.22.08)
After having seen the Newsnight program on BBC 2 last night and the pathetic , halting replies by the female Israeli representative to Jeremy Paxman's basic and not too demanding questions, it is hardly surprising that the International community has no real perception of the tremendous difficulties experienced by the Israelis in dealing in a humanitarian but effective manner with the murderous action of the Gazans. When will you realise that straight forward honest answers are the most effective. Yes. civilians will suffer in Gaza; Why? because they voted in a religio- fascist regime, under the guise of Democracy and then proceed to wonder why nobody loves them.
36. AL JAZEERA? WHO CARES?
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (01.22.08)
The news media in the US are almost all controlled by friends of Israel, and I haven't seen any pictures of Gaza children. On the other hand, a recent news story showed damage in Sderot. Who cares what Al Jazeera does?
37. we don't care about what the world think
dovdevan ,   asshdod , israel   (01.22.08)
hamas wants israel to cut off the electricity because they like to show the world they are always vicitims of the israeli barbary ! the media prefer ignoring the truth hamas is using civilian for propaganda purpose so let's deal with hamas killers before gaza become another south lebanon no matter what the world think
38. Why failed again? because truth shall prevail
observer   (01.22.08)
you posed yourself as " Israel continued to supply electricity to Gaza". But the truth is: Israel is being paid in advance by the EU. But why Israel continue to supply electricity? the answer is simple: Israel finds itself can not block the supply to Gaza, it would come from Egypt, Jordan or Saudi. So why not Israel make profit? Yes the small portion coming from Egypt is much less costly. Israel threatened before to cut electricity for the allegation that Hamas collects tax money, but when Hamas assured that no taxes would be collected, Israel demanded to be paid in advance. Was that a story of charity on the side of Israel? No it was a maneuver to make more profit from an inevitable supply, no more no less. Natural Gas of Gaza's off-shore is another story of Israel greed; Israel tries to manipulate the British P. Co. and Palestinians over that too. As for the international aid and humanitarian supply, when the truth comes that it is inevitable, I bet Israel would demand a commission.
39. #35 you believe that they brought it on themselves, then
observer   (01.22.08)
you are Jew. when you believe that you are defeated by your own shortcomings and not by your rival's deeds, then you are are real Jew.
40. Arik Silverman, just log on Arab-Occupied Territory Haaretz
Jake   (01.22.08)
if what you want is all mouth and no ears when it comes to anti-Israel spin, deceit, and lies, and all ears and no mouth when it comes to recycled Arab propaganda and anti-Israel non-stop jabbering.
41. observer, your conspiracy theories would be humorous
Jake   (01.22.08)
if they weren't so obviously daft.
42. Remembering Zev Jabotinsky
Alex ,   USA   (01.22.08)
We constantly and very loudly apologize... Instead of turning our backs to the accusers, as there is nothing to apologize for, and nobody to apologize to, we swear again and again that it is not our fault... Isn't it long overdue to respond to all these and all future accusations, reproaches, suspicions, slanders and denunciations by simply folding our arms and loudly, clearly, coldly and calmly answer with the only argument that is understandable and accessible to this public: 'Go to Hell!'?
43. # 39 what are you a door to door Rabbi?
Petra ,   usa   (01.22.08)
your logic is bass ackwards.
44. # 42 Alex, It Works For Me. Thanks
Petra ,   usa   (01.22.08)
45. A few lessons for Israel in PR....
Tim - Brighton ,   UK   (01.22.08)
This is not the 60' or 70's. We live in a different world where world public opinion counts and Israel has to make its case heard. Israel may be adept at fighting but less adept at presenting its case. So far Hamas with its outright fabrications runs circles around the media. Israel must learn. Appoint specialist teams to provide accurate and thruthful data and images about the number of daily attacks to the worlds media, about the destruction and disruption, about the right to self defense... So that when Israel does retaliate people can understand why. And you dont get such breathtakingly slanted reports such as the News 24BBC Report last week by a reporter called Mr Patience from Jerusalem talking about the Fuel Crisis in Gaza which began by saying ' ALL THIS TROUBLE started last Thursday when Israel attacked Palestinian militants'! You had to do a double take! You mean Mr Patience it didnt START when rockets started being fired into Israel? Yes true BBC reporting on the Mid East and elsewhere for that matter is becoming a veritable laughing stock you cant take seriously, with so many examples of slipshod, innacurate, unprofessional reporting, often full of innuendo (in fact some reporters deserve top prize for masters of innuendo!). BBC News Reporting is almost becoming a hopeless basket case. I cant ever rely on getting my news factual, accurate and unbiassed or news I can trust and I along with more and more viewers wouldnt mind so much if I didnt have to pay a TV License for the privelege to boot!
46. It's true...
Soeren ,   Cologne/Germany   (01.22.08)
It's true, a lack of professional PR is one of Israels problems. The Palestinians, especially in Gaza, are the main trouble makers in the Middle East. They say, they want a state for their own; well, they could have a state for decades, but what they really want is the destruction of Israel. The Palestinians received a lot of money, sixfold the sum, the Europeans received during the Marshall Plan after WWII, but nevertheless the Palestinians decide again and again for their way of destruction. They are the most-sponsored people in the history of human mankind, but all what the world gets back from them, is the incompetence and the terror, they show day by day. And it's always the fault of OTHERS, they are not mature enough to take responsibility for their own actions. And obviously Israel is unable to ask the right questions to uncover this madness and psychopathology!!
47. Really inept on government's part
Steve G ,   Kew Gardens,NYC   (01.23.08)
Israeli spokespeople are AWFUL. It takes NOTHING to keep the publicity on rocket attacks from Gaza in the world's view. I'm sure a good New York public relations firm would VOLUNTEER the time and personnel to help out. I have seen better publicity for amateur theatrical outings that are better than the Olmert government public face. Hire someone....FIRE someone!
48. where are pix of these children with bomb belts and military
uniforms?lost them?   (01.23.08)
49. If the Gaza Arabs do not stop the rockets and mortars...
David ,   Houston   (01.23.08)
The Arabs should be expelled and Gaza re-settled by Jews. It is senseless to tolerate an endless war of attrition. The war will be over when the Arab side surrenders unconditionally! No one has a right to hit Israel with rockets and mortars and Israel has the obligation to defend itself. Enough of these Arab lies and violence!
50. Suffering
Galilean ,   Israel   (01.23.08)
Israelis don't have to prove that they are suffering more than the PAL's. That would be falling into the poor me victim trap that the PALs play. The only thing that must be repeatedly stated is that there are people in Gaza throwing rockets at Israeli cities and villages on a daily basis. We are talking about self-defense here. The fact that these rockets happen to do little damage is totally besides the point.
51. #36, what news you watching?
Danny   (01.23.08)

Wierd I never took you for a FOX News viewer.....
52. #45, to be fair to Martin
Danny   (01.23.08)
He thinks that as long as you post another article putting forth the "Israeli narrative" then it is ok to put forth the "Palestinian narrative".
53. Each Can Make A Difference
Christy ,   Boston, US   (01.23.08)
Yes, Israel needs to do a better job of showing the world what the facts are. This is being called Israel's PR campaign. However, EVERYONE here who loves Israel can do their own part in getting the truth out. You don't need to wait for a PR campaign by the Israeli government. It's Easy for a person to Make A Difference & educate: 1. Obtain facts & references regarding Israel's actions & the Palis. response. Go back as far as you like. - You don't need EVERY fact - You DO need facts that can be sourced & provide source - You could just concentrate on what's hot in the current news cycle. 2. Peruse some Internet boards that focus on current events. Read the board(s) to get a 'feel' for the place before posting. 3. When an opportunity arises, post the facts you've been amassing about what Israel has done vs. what her enemies have done. - You'll be bashed by the far left & others. You can take it! - Reply using more facts Even if the people you were arguing with never agree with you, remember there's a LOT of people reading what you just wrote. If you are factual, have references, and don't lose your cool, it's possible you've just educated the (silent) people reading that topic. I KNOW this tactic works. Prior to 9/11 I didn't know up from down regarding the 'Israeli Conflict'. After 9/11 I made it a point to educate myself & learned a lot reading people who methodically laid out the Israeli-Arab Conflict, from soup to nuts, on various boards. I urge everyone here who can traverse the Net to place information on as many boards as possible. You never know how many people will be enlightened by your posts.
54. gissin,s failed media
elliot ,   point roberts,usa   (01.23.08)
this man was ineffective and still misses the obvious--no one will thank israel for putting up with rockets--war is not collective punishment, but not neing firm with hamas from day one suggests israel accepts it as a neighbor---the media is anti-semite to begin with-do not pander to the media, just defend your interests like everyone else!
55. Gaza
Henry Clifford ,   Wainscott, NY USA   (01.25.08)
A recent casualty report showed that 810 Palestinians, including 48 young children, have been killed by the IDF and 13 Israelis killed by rocket attacks.
56. Gaza
Racheal ,   United States   (06.10.08)
i know there are people in gaza that do not live there and was just there when the border was closed and have suffered as they have done something wrong.
